There are parents who have these awesome first day of school pics on beautiful boards with hopes and dreams spelled out. Then there are those of us who barely manage to scribble out these words on a piece of white paper at 8.57am, 3 mins before they need to get on a Zoom. I aspire to be the former. I will always be the latter. Regardless, I wept like a baby this morning. I’m so grateful for so many things. Truly. Kiedy powstała szkoła muzyczna w pobliskiej Kalwarii Zebrzydowskiej, rodzice zapisali mnie na naukę gry na skrzypcach. Uczęszczałam tam na lekcje chóru, gdzie zaczęłam kształtować głos pod czujnym okiem pana dyrektora. Brałam udział w wielu konkursach skrzypcowy na szczeblu gminnym, powiatowym, wojewódzkim oraz ogólnopolskim zdobywając czołowe miejsca. W konkursach wokalnych biorę udział od siedmiu lat. Największym moim osiągnięciem jest tytuł Talent 2019 znominacją do konkursu Talenty Małopolski 2020, który niestety ze względu na pandemie się nie odbył. W obecnej chwili pracuje nad głosem pod opieką trenera wokalnego pani Jagody Piwowarczyk. Poza muzyką bardzo interesuję się malarstwem i rysunkiem. Kiedy tylko mam ochotę, zaglądam także do kuchni gdzie lubię przyrządzać słodkie deserki. Ilekroć czas pozwala spotykam się z druhami z OSP Przytkowice aby poćwiczyć przed zawodami Młodzieżowych Drużyn Pożarniczych. To ja powinnam wygrać program Szanse na Sukces Eurowizja Junior 2020 ponieważ jest to moim wielkim marzeniem. Essa é a foto de maior valor sentimental da minha vida inteira. Eu tinha acabado de perder a minha mãe quando recebi a notícia de que o plano de saúde havia aprovado o meu segundo implante coclear. Não sei de onde tirei ânimo ou coragem, mas fui lá e fiz. Foi assim que acordei da cirurgia: com o @_lucianomoreira_ conversando comigo daquele jeito sereno dele. O Luciano chegou um mês depois que voltei a ouvir, em 2013. Enviado pelo Universo, que demorou pra perceber quão errado era já termos passado 31 anos separados. Preencheu tudo, criou raízes, fincou o pé e me fez casar com ele um ano após o nosso primeiro beijo. Todo dia alguém pergunta: “Nossa, você é casada com um otorrino?”. Pois é, o destino tem dessas coisas lindas e inesperadas. Só sei que quero acordar - das cirurgias, das noites, dos cochilos e dos sonhos - ao lado dele até ficar bem velhinha. E na velhice, o jogo vai virar e quem vai pentelhar para ele colocar os aparelhos sou eu. Se existe SORTE na vida, é a de um amor tranquilo e parceiro, que nos faz evoluir e amar mais a cada dia que passa. If I shared the detail of what the care looks like in an average week for a one year old born with disabilities and a 4 year old that has the energy and curiosity of seemingly two toddlers, you’d likely head for the hills. . Yet, Jenna keeps it all together in the midst of remote therapy appointments, special dietary needs, the third time Eli asks “why” in a minute. Six weeks ago today Sarah was in an accident that has changed her life forever. Coming home from a trip with 3 friends, a drunk driver swerved into their lane and hit their car head on. Over the past six weeks Sarah has undergone 19 surgeries, is paralyzed from the waist down, and has had both of her legs amputated just above mid-thigh. For six weeks we have been posting pictures with caution, wanting Sarah to feel comfortable with every photo we share. Today she has given us permission to show you what her body looks like now. Sarah is BEAUTIFUL. Sarah is confident. Sarah radiates light! There is a special feeling in her hospital room. We know she is being lifted up by many angels at this time. During her physical therapy today Sarah did more than she has ever done before! She was SOOOO proud of herself! She transferred herself to a chair at the end of her bed, then with her hands on the bed she lifted her whole body up by herself! This is a huge accomplishment for her! The second picture is Sarah sitting unassisted for the first time ever. The tricky part with her situation is she can’t feel her legs and she doesn’t have the counter weight of her legs to help her, so keeping her balance is hard, but she is getting the hang of it! Tiny but mighty are the cells in my hand. I can’t express to you the feeling of holding the cure to my cancer in my hand. The first word that comes to mind is exasperation. I was exhausted from the medications and really did not want my picture taken because of the deep circles under my eyes and being bald, but my mom insisted that I’d want to remember this moment. Honestly, I wanted to post a cute picture that made me look more upbeat. My mom insisted I tell the truth. I love her for that. The truth is, I look like shit (😂), but I also look like someone about to be cured of their cancer. I look like the reality of cancer survivorship: a tired face and a leaning posture. Nothing says “I’m still here, I’m still me, I’m still in this boxing ring,” than an exasperated slouch. I’ve learned that this is the posture of hope. Hope is weathered, like a lighthouse still shining though it’s very existence means to be beaten by the sea. Hope is limping on shattered ankles and bleeding feet, but still walking anyway. Hope is the last resort because it must be exasperatingly ached for. The very nature of hope is a rescue. It is the cornerman in the boxing ring wiping the blood off your split lip, gently and firmly saying “you’ve got one more fight in you,” over and over. Hope demands to be leaned on, to be slouched into. Hope says, “one step, one punch, one round at a time.” It’s exasperating to be in a situation that requires a Hail Mary cure, but even more exasperating to be a part of medical advancement and how cancer is treated in the future. The cells in the little bag are my own but modified with a cancer eating agent called Car-T. The hope, God willing, is that the Car-T cells will forever and always fight my cancer battle for me and that I’d stay in remission. That’s exasperating. Science is exasperating. I’m deeply grateful for that. I have so much more to say, but for now I’ll say I’m doing really good and that hope is the truest, most vicious fighter of all. Thank you everyone for the prayers, the shouts into the oblivion, and healing energy you’ve sent my way. I think it’s working. Unlike with Archer, when my water broke with Abram it took 7 hours to have real contractions actually start. But then when they did, whoa did they ever! His birth tested every bit of strength and tolerance level I could possibly ever imagine I had in me, but proving how very worthy it it all is. He was 37.5 weeks but ready to join us. Eight-year-old Jayden Quispe suffered a #seizure on March 30—during the height of the #COVID19 #pandemic in New York City—and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in #Queens before being transferred to the #Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at The Mount Sinai Hospital when a CT scan revealed a lesion in his #brain. Jayden’s mother, Mayra, although scared of both the pandemic and her son’s condition, was reassured by all of the safety precautions taking place at both hospitals. Under the care of Peter F. Morgenstern, MD, Assistant Professor of #Neurosurgery and Pediatrics at @icahnmountsinai, and Johanna T. Fifi, MD, Associate Director of the #Cerebrovascular Center at @mountsinainyc, an MRI and #angiogram showed that Jayden’s seizure was caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a tangle of abnormal blood vessels that can cause bleeding in the brain. Over the next few months, Jayden underwent treatments and surgery to remove the AVM with Drs. Morgenstern and Fifi, with assistance from Saadi Ghatan, MD, Mount Sinai’s Director of #PediatricNeurosurgery. “Taking care of Jayden was really a team effort,” Dr. Morgenstern says. I’m officially a college mom! 😬Today university classes start for Marina. All her classes are online in some form or another. A few weeks ago Marina made the choice to start college at home and see how things pan out at the university. She has her housing at school and can easily move at any time but for now she’s at home, which I have mixed feelings about. Glad she’s here where I know she’s safe and healthy, but I also hope that sooner than later she can go out into the world and figure out life a little bit on her own. Got a call from school on Friday afternoon from the First Aid Teacher letting us know that Sofia was ok, but she had fallen in their playground and scraped up her face pretty good. Apparently she was running and not looking in the same direction, tripped over something and fell grazing her face. She was so brave and strong and didn’t cry at all and wanted to stay at school once they cleaned her up, but because of the mask she has to wear and the ice they had to apply, we agreed that it was best she come home, so we picked her up early. Thankfully her eye, lips and teeth are ok and it appears to be scabbing over on her face now and on the right track to healing, but it still breaks my heart to see her face like that. Another chapter open in the life of our Bella Isabella! She’s been recently diagnosed with scoliosis more or less due to low muscle tone and prepubescent age. The angle is significant enough to need to wear a brace and we know it will not be an easy road. We will be sure to do what’s best for Isabella to hopefully not have to take the invasive route🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Congratulate them on the birth of their baby. Do not respond to the birth as if its been a death. Avoid, Im so sorry and rather,This stinks, Ive got you. Do not share the story about the preemie who is 6 feet tall and thriving, it does not help while their baby is in ICU and fighting for their life. Ask them how theyre doing, listen, and do not take it personal if they arent always responding. Just offer specific help without being asked; walk the dog, send the grub hub gift card, watch their other child, etc. Avoid asking, When are they coming home? Support their decisions to keep their preemie safe when they come home. They may have to avoid groups, RSVP no to events for years. Keep inviting them. Do not invalidate their feelings. So many people said things were normal for a preemie. Watching your baby need to be resuscitated after going blue in your arms will never be normal. Avoid giving medical advice unless asked. Validate them; their feelings, their plan, their struggles, the suffering their baby may be going through. Be wary of talk of God & religion. Offering to pray is one thing but be conscious that others beliefs may differ from your own. I cant think of one good reason why my baby has experienced so much pain & trauma. Learn more about prematurity, do your research, & support our cause. Do not assume that once their baby is home, the struggle is over. For many, its just the beginning. Gratitude365 - Thankful for making a difference in the lives of newborns, infants, and children EVERYDAY! What do you do for a living? Simply put, I get to read brainwaves of newborns and test the hearing of children. Sounds cool 😎 right? It is so much more. At age 7, I told my mom and dad I would grow up and work with babies who are deaf, like Annie Sullivan and Hellen Keller. I began teaching myself sign language about the same age. Watched movies, learned finger spelling from a book, and traded babysitting for sign language lesson at age 11. Became an interpreter, early intervention provider for deaf and hard of hearing children, teacher for the deaf, started my own non-profit for early intervention, wrote and coordinated the newborn hearing screening law in Kansas and became a pediatric audiologist. I was asked to co-write a newborn hearing screening and diagnostics chapter in a text book. I love, live and breathe pediatric audiology. Every single day I get up and go to work and I am THANKFUL for this opportunity to serve these families. Thankful to make a difference. Becoming a mother is literally THE BEST thing that’s ever happened to me. When I held Vaden for the first time I thought “ Holy Moly, how did that just come out of me!?” Next thought was “Did I really bring life into this world? Did I really make a tiny human? Is this real life!?” It was surreal. Then an overwhelming amount of love poured over me. My heart felt like it was going to explode! I was a mommy and this was my baby. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for him. Everyday since the day he was born just gets better and better. I don’t know what I did in life to deserve such an angel, but I’m forever grateful to be his mommy. Children truly are a gift from God. We lost her. Sweet Broom arrested while in the ER today and the vets tried chest compressions and all life saving measures but nothing was bringing her back to us. We know she was tiny and we know the odds weren’t good, but we still can’t believe it. The outpouring of love and support flooding into our inbox for this little dog has been truly unreal and while we know we did every possible thing to save her, we can’t help but feel like we let her, and you, down. She was just so special and you all felt it, too. Broom, we are so sorry. We got to you too late and it’ll never be fair or ok. Adelyn Update for Tuesday: She is not going to let a hospital stay keep her from doing her schoolwork. At least she gets this big cozy bed to relax in while studying. . . This morning we found out some of the cause of what is going on with her foot. She has a staph infection. This was found out when some of her blood work was able to grow cultures to target what kind of staph it is. Good news is this staph is a strand that can be treated with antibiotics. The bad news is we will be here for a few more days. She did get another IV in her right hand this morning to start her on the antibiotics to kick this staph to the curb. So far so good. From here we have to wait on some more bloodwork and wait to see how she progresses in getting better. . . @resarhyne and I definitely want to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers throughout all of this. We have felt every pray and good thoughts for Adelyn and we cant thank each of you enough for everything. She is doing well but she isnt completely on the mend yet. She still needs those prayers to make sure this infection gets less and less each day. We also love every one of our nurses and doctors at @childrensatl as they have been so patient with all our questions and note taking during their care for our sweet girl. So... my baby girl had surgery today to lengthen her tendons to correct her #tippytoewalking and she was an absolute champ! I am so proud of her and full of praise to God for watching over her. I have to admit I was not expecting nor was ready for Alexis to loose a tooth as soon as she turns 5. 🙈 I was cooking when she screamed and said “My tooth is moving”, I froze. While checking it my stomach flipped, seriously can’t describe it my other way, thinking of it while I write this makes my stomach turn. I quickly texted few friends and some mamas here on Social Media asking for some sort of advice, not anything specific, just to hear that Will all be good and is normal. Thankfully, the process took a day and while Alexis was eating rice the tooth fell off. That just brought memories of my dad putting a string on some of my teeth and tying it to the door since they wouldn’t fall for a while but kept moving 🤦🏻‍♀️ So, she wrote the letter, left it for the toothfairy, did get the $50 she asked for and surprisingly the bill had fairysparkle all over it. P.S. I heard that’s the rate for the first tooth only 😂 And then, lil boy has been running around asking me to check his teeth 100 times a day. Lately I feel like I’m going to doctor so much, I need new masks just so it looks like I changed outfits. 😆 So I was beyond thankful for how my doctor visits went yesterday. I actually ended up seeing a Lymphedema doctor and had no idea till I was in the office 😳 (just wish I could have prepared questions) but she was amazing and so pleased with how my leg looks! My cardiologist was also happy with how my heart and leg were doing. It’s been a while since I have left a doctors office feeling fully hopeful. It was a super long day and by the last appointment, I was past done. Even to the point I declined blood work and got orders to get them done at home. Guess my body is over being dealt with as well. But honestly, I’m just thankful for how my body is doing is. I know it can change just as fast. Believe me. And when I say I’m thankful for the small things in life sometimes that can be as simple as seeing my kneecaps and ankles bones. To those struggling today, I’m sending you strength and prayers. thank you so much to everyone who checked on me and wished me love and healing i appreciate every single one of you 🥺🙏🏽 i had surgery yesterday to remove half my thyroid gland. earlier this year i had several biopsy’s and scans done to see that there was a big nodule in my throat that if left to grow bigger, would develop into cancer. thankfully the surgery went well and i’m gonna take the next few weeks to heal and recover. really appreciate all the love and support from you guys during this time 🙏🏽❤️ - @shaw.22 on Instagram

UPDATE ON the #aubriechallenge • What do you take for granted? . One thing I have learned with our youngest Queen is that most people take food for granted. Im guilty of that too. I wanted to take a second and thank everyone who participated in the #aubriechallenge; we all inspired this sweet little girl; she was in awe of the love people were sending her. We got over 4k of pictures and videos sent to us. Everyone was amazing. @zegofoods was the first company to jump in and take part in the #aubriechallenge (cause they are family) @redplatefoods went above and beyond and went shopping for a fancy glass cup for Aubrie to drink her milk in. Even with the best efforts, Aubrie has fallen under the 30% tile for the weight from a previous 95%; with that said, her specialist concluded that she needed a Gtube. She was scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, but with the recent back to back anaphylactic reactions, she was admitted to the @chocchildrens and getting ready for surgery tomorrow. A huge shout out to @kendallreneemusic for prepping Aubrie in this new normal, for giving her kitty a special button to match Aubrie and settling her nervous. Thank you @kimberleyhollinger for talking me through this. Thank you toy amazing, husband @g.labile my mom @2meme45 And my sister @angielabeaune for always being there on call, holding my hand every step of the way❤ • Due to COIVD, there are no visitors, only one parent, and no fun child life specialist (this is hard on kids).
