What did it for me was the part where he was going to force everyone to turn back just for 𝘩𝘪𝘴 handkerchief and when he told Bofur that the Dwarves were used to not belonging anywhere. I felt that he didn’t understand what the quest was for and he didn’t sympathize with the Dwarves because he was more focused on himself and what 𝘩𝘦 left behind...but this scene made me feel better about him. And this scene doesn’t get a lot of attention, but it’s a very important scene.
