Today is a really significant milestone for me. I am officially out of remission of my second melanoma! My cancer journey started 15 years ago and will continue the rest of my life. But today, we do a happy dance and celebrate that it’s been five years since my most recent cancer diagnosis and I am in the “safe zone”.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s the thing, I’ve been here before and I’ve done this happy dance only to have cancer return a decade later. What makes today different? I’ve done a LOT of work on myself in the last five years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I truly believe that when you restrict the organic flow of emotions and energy, that they will manifest in your body. No, I’m not saying you’ll get cancer from holding emotions in. However, a headache, stomach issues, your skin will start to break out. These can be physical manifestations of internalized emotions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The work I’ve done in recent years has surfaced emotions I’ve kept hidden and masterfully disguised most of my life. So today when I dance it’s not to just celebrate a milestone. We are told that there is a certain age where it become inappropriate to be naked in front of your children. Why? Will it scar them? Will it cause them trauma? Is it so dangerous that laws must be made to prevent us from harming one another through non-sexual nudity? Nudity is natural. It is how we enter this world. Our bodies are something to be celebrated, not shamed. I cannot believe it has officially been one year since completing my YTT 200. The past year has truly been a gift of blessings ✨ I have found solely from a result of going deep into my heart and connecting with others from a true heart space. 🤍 When I found myself in this position one year ago, I was overwhelmed with far too much judgement and fear, not enough compassion and love/gratitude for myself. Yoga is a never ending journey. 🧘🏼♀️Throughout the transformations I’ve found within my practice I’ve learned that filling yourself with self love is the single most important thing you can do for yourself and others you care about. When you let go of your resistance you make room for miracles to blossom 🌱 and take a step closer to your highest alignment.
