The world is on fire again. This time the fires are being lit by those who have no other voice to express themselves. Peaceful protests are turned into riots, seemingly many of them stirred to this by despicable men bent on unhinging the movement by clouding what it is really about. To my black friends, I love you, your lives matter. To my outraged white friends, I love you too, make sure that you are keeping your eyes open so that if the opportunity comes to use your privilege to help another that you are ready for it. To the dissenters, the apologists, the moderates and those who seem to think that its more important to point out that riots are bad than to focus on the murder of an innocent human life, an innocent black human life, sit down. Shut your mouth and open your ears. Now is the time to listen, to learn and to internalize the reality of a people who have been deprived of history, freedom and their very lives because they committed the crime of being born black. I feel that it is important to point out that I am afraid. I am afraid of joining the protests, I am afraid of the things that must be done and said right now to create change. I want to drive down to Seattle and stand proudly and strongly with those black lives that matter. But I am afraid. I am weighed down heavily with the burdens of responsibility. However, I will choose my moment when it comes, I will exercise my privilege and I will save or protect a life if or when I can. I will not remain silent, I will not turn a blind eye. Hello friends! For several years Ive been working on a traditional Indian equivalent of the hand hammered wok. A tool so strong and indestructible; that would make light work of breaking down onions and tomatoes and could sit sturdy on a home range, bbq, live fire or gas ring as it does on a traditional mud chulha. With high sides suitable for stirring curries and a gentle enveloping heat for silky daals and melting lamb dishes, beautiful enough to present at the table. My Indian partner and I scoured the country following leads that ended in flimsy pinned fire pit makers. Nowadays these traditional skills are only maintained by makers of massive weighty kadhais made for weddings, banquets, and temple gatherings. They are often stamped on massive machines. The original kadhai, that would have once been in a family home has been replaced by modern cookware. Were happy to report, after gaining the trust of a whole village and remaining traditional makers, a kadhai suitable for the home. The last one of which was made by this makers grandfather. The family were still using it, testament to the strength and durability of this ancient cooking vessel. They weigh 7.5 kg each! Look at this Victorian era 3 coil spring bustle pad support . We’ve never seen one quite like this! Really excited to tell you all! I have a new song out today! It’s a really special song for me, It’s called Hungry Heart, the next single from the project with @ashgrunwald called Push The Blues Away. This was an attempt to try something in an old guitar based blues style to fit the album and this is what came of it. It’s a kind of a half folk, half bluesy song, i guess. To be honest, I was a bit worried it wouldnt fit the theme we were going for, but when i showed it to Ash and @samuelteskey who, by the way, recorded and co produced this whole thing, they gave me some lovely encouragement. We went with it. I ended up loving this song more and more, I played it every day to my unborn daughter in the womb all through Hannah’s pregnancy in the hope she might recognise it. Some sort of musical, pregnancy, social experiment. The results! Inconclusive. But I still dedicate this one to @han_pavlova and Ayva Rae Teskey. So heres a pic of me and little Ayva Rae. @coquetryclothing has ripped off my devil hood design yesterday that I have been selling since August 2018 in my Etsy store. My devil hood is the left one in the photo. My devil hood is my best seller and I have worked really hard to make quality hoods so my customers love what I do. I am very disappointed in them. I have asked them to remove their post, stop selling that hood and make their own devil accessory design. They have not responded to me and instead turned off all comments to their post because they know what they did is wrong. Just because they have a bigger following then me does not mean they can steal my work and pass it off as their own. I am a small business, working for myself. I do not have employees and I make all of my products myself with my own hands. It’s wrong for them to do this to me. They are even advertising their rip off hood like how I advertise mine. They are selling their hood for the exact same price as mine. I do believe mine is of a higher quality and is more attractive so feel free to visit my Etsy store and get the original vintage style devil hood. Representantes de la comisión de trabajo compuesta por varios componentes de la Asociación Amigos del Zangarrón de Sanzoles y la propia alcaldesa entregarán el el día de hoy a miembros del equipo de gobierno del Ayuntamiento el estudio técnico realizado sobre la celebración que la institución local presentará al Ministerio de Turismo. El acto se celebrará a las once de la mañana en el Centro de Interpretación de la mascarada. Como testigos del acto, enseres, fotografías y la memoria sentimental de todo un pueblo que se vuelca con una fiesta que se vive en la localidad durante todo el año y que se celebra todos los 25 y 26 de diciembre. Los vecinos de la localidad han hecho sonar los cencerros todas las tardes que ha durado el confinamiento por la Covid-19. Ha sido su homenaje a quienes han luchado en primera línea contra la pandemia y una manera de rescatar una de las explicaciones del origen de la fiesta, la de que nació ligada a una peste que diezmó la población. It feels like years ago that I made this whimsical assemblage - Lawn Canon - with bound chunks of painted sidewalk, scraps of astroturf, and tree root fragments for @maiden.la and @montevistaprojects LOIMBY (lawn ornaments in my backyard) show. This was the first of several shows that were cancelled when everything had to shut down, so it feels especially joyous to be dropping this off today for High Beams - an open air show on the roof of parking structure in downtown LA by the @bendixbuilding community. A matéria também está disponível na nossa página no Facebook e no site da fundação: fgml.itajai.sc.gov.br Por trás das exposições Como é feita a higienização das obras no Museu Histórico de Itajaí Quem visita um museu, se admira com a história, a materialidade e o cuidado com os objetos expostos, mas não imagina como é feita essa preservação e os cuidados que se devem ter com as obras. No Museu Histórico de Itajaí, localizado no Palácio Marcos Konder no centro da cidade, Marco Antônio Figueiredo Junior é responsável por esse processo, que demanda muita atenção por conta das condições climáticas que necessitam de um monitoramento constante. Para Marco, o processo de higienização é de grande importância para os Museus, justamente porque ele atrasa o processo natural de desgaste do objeto e garante a longevidade da obra para uma eventual restauração, que financeiramente é muito caro. No Museu de Itajaí são realizados dois processos, o da Conservação Curativa, que é quando se atua diretamente sobre o objeto, interrompendo ou atrasando a sua degradação e o da Conservação Preventiva, que são os cuidados diários com as obras, tirar o pó, olhar o estado da peça, para que se garanta a preservação básica. Outro cuidado importante é em relação a saúde do indivíduo que trabalha com esses processos de higienização, o serviço exige algumas atenções, como o uso de toucas de proteção, camisas de manga comprida, luvas e máscaras. Em alguns casos, por não saber a procedência do objeto, ele pode conter fungos e bactérias prejudiciais ao ser humano, portanto esses cuidados são justamente para evitar o contato direto com a obra, além da cautela com os produtos utilizados na limpeza. Marco lembra-se de casos em que funcionários que trabalhavam nessa função morreram ou ficaram incapacitados de trabalhar novamente por conta de não terem se protegido adequadamente. Siempre es bien recibida una visita más cuando quieres mucho a esa persona hoy me vino a ver @amado_.delirio y me mostró una verdadera joya del vestuario original y de la época eduardiana data de 1910 y perteneció a una niña de 15 años ,de una popelina de algodon muy fina llena de alforzas y blondas, este vestido es un verdadero rompecabezas ya que tiene muchos cortes y detalles , tiene un cuello alto y tiene botones en el la espalda de nácar ,en verdad es una pieza exquisita y de la temporada de verano , por lo tanto como luce transparente abajo de usaban las enguas correspondientes y el corse ,se nota que es un vestido hecho a mano con costuras francesas y finamente cosido a mano ,sus medidas son pequeñas tiene una cintura de 58 cm y de largo desde el hombro hasta el bajo son 1.35 cm por lo tanto la persona que lo usó media 1,52 cm. Eu adoro o processo de desenvolvimento de qualquer ensaio ou foto em que eu esteja envolvido. No caso da @ellebrasil, que chega amanhã às mãos dos leitores, o processo foi intenso e incrível. Pouco mais de duas semanas pra produzir todos os ensaios e capas e muita gente foda envolvida. Para o ensaio do lendário @gilbertogil a responsabilidade foi grande por se tratar de um dos maiores ícones da cultura brasileira e alguém por quem tenho admiração indescritível. As ideias partiram de trocas com o magnífico stylist @marcellmaia que teve a sensibilidade e senso de oportunidade em buscar inspiração na obra do artista icônico Arthur Bispo do Rosário. Alem de flores, floras, pinturas, Machado de Assis, refavelas, punks da periferia, arados nas estrelas, kaya n’gan daya e coisas de gil, com a consultoria da divina @vwsunny. Pra releitura da obra do Bispo, com meu parceiro de vida @andersonrodriguez recortamos mais de 100 metros de papelão (com a ajuda gloriosa de @junior_guarnieri @fredrochafredrocha) e costuramos todas as placas com fio de plástico que serviram de paredes na estrutura feita em madeira pelo @aecenografia . Montamos tudo isso num espaço minúsculo em um hotel, onde a nossa “caixa” sem encaixou perfeitamente. E a mágica veio pelos olhos e pela luz linda do inigualável @bobwolfenson. Aliada ao bom gosto dos looks do Marcell e da genialidade do @dindihojah que confeccionou dreadlocks feitos de lã, também com inspiração cruzada entre a obra do Bispo e da verve reggae rasta de Gil. E o resultado tá aí! Muito feliz! His Bivouac for the Dead ( Dodenbivak, 2002 ) is a rectangular tent of semi-transparent blue canvas. The contours are open, and in the middle of the light construction hangs the bier – above the ground, as if on its way up.” The Birthing Tent is, at the title indicates, a large bol structure designed for giving birth and for the celebration of this intimate moment.
