After she finished the @transcontinental race with our good friend @johanna_jahnke as the first female pair ever, she took on the next challenges in off-road riding. Coming from a road racing background she obviously knew how to put some watts in the pedals and finished 9 Orbits, from which of them she finished 7 routes in record time. Unbelievable performance! Marion rode 2.264 km, climbed 21.481 metres and spend 122 hours in the saddle. Assisi Perugia e Todi, tra Tevere, sterrati e cultura - 87 km Adriatica Tirrena 2020 - Giorno 3 di 7 Terza tappa dedicata interamente allUmbria e al suo capoluogo. Da Assisi a Perugia primi assaggi di #Tevere, che ci accompagnerà per lunga parte del nostro viaggio. Una ventina di km in scioltezza tra Bastia Umbra e SantEgidio, fino agli ultimi estenuanti 5 km in salita per raggiungere #Perugia (493 m. slm). La bellezza del capoluogo umbro, con la splendida Piazza IV Novembre (foto 3) ripagano della fatica. Visita del centro storico e si riparte per #Todi, la città sul colle isolato. Dopo circa 50 km di provinciali e strade sterrate sulle rive del Tevere (da Marsciano il pezzo più entusiasmante) si presenta davanti a noi il colle di #Todi in tutta la sua imponenza. In Santa Rosa, near Blue Hole Lake, the Pecos sunflower thrives on a 116-acre patch of land purchased by State Forestry to protect the critical habitat from development that would drain the wetlands—one of the major threats to its survival. While similar to its more abundant annual sunflower cousin, the Pecos sunflower is found only in seven locations in New Mexico and western Texas, all of them saline or alkaline arid-land wetlands known as ciénegas. “We are trying to figure out what it takes to not only conserve this plant, but make it thrive,” says Daniela Roth, coordinator of the state’s Endangered Plant Program. . . 1. It grows up to 10 feet tall and has lighter yellow flowers than the common annual. 2. Another signature is its leaves, which have three distinct parallel veins. 3. Ciénegas have been disappearing for the past 150 years, mainly due to development. 4. The Pecos sunflower occupies only about 400 acres worldwide. 5. “This cannot just be an island in the middle of Santa Rosa,” says Roth. “Everybody has to participate.” 6. “This sunflower is very special among rare plants in New Mexico because it’s a very charismatic plant,” Roth says. 7. We packed our bikes with all the essentials for an overnight adventure on the Isle of Wight. Dry bags strapped to our bike forks full of gas stove, roll mats, snacks and sporks. Mugs strapped wherever they wouldn’t get in the way, towels on our crossbar and little bags full of suncream and sweets. We were only away from home for 24 hours but it felt like we had been away for days. The great thing about being on your bike is you take in so much more, you can stop whenever you fancy and pitch up whenever you like. We found a great little camp spot through the woods on the waters edge perfect for sea swims and amazing views of the Solent ✨ . We will all have days that challenge us to the breaking point and more... but there will always be a happy ending. . . . Today was a day for the 📚. Definetly tested my limits and beyond. Ran out of water at the last 3 miles and had to take every step down sideways because my knees hurt so bad. I was not prepared physically but mentally I kept saying I can make it. This is also after having food poisoning for the last 2.5days. 11.3miles in roughly 6hrs with +33000 steps and an elevation gain of +3800. The last 3miles was agony! I was starting to lose focus but I kept my head on straight. On the drive home I had a chance to reflect on it and I can say I am happy. I also got to watch a cotton candy sunset down the road from me. What a way to end the my birthday 🎉!! It’s been the most beautiful spring & early summer this year, which makes it an even more frustrating time for couples who were hoping to get married over this period. If nature calls Primoz, Wout follows nature too...😉 This snapshot was taken in the approach to the Col du Béal summit after that call of nature. Het scenario waar we al voor vreesden is nu helaas ook werkelijkheid geworden. Door de verspreiding van het coronavirus in onze samenleving is het niet verantwoord om de LBL Ardennen Classic 2020 plaats te laten vinden. Vanavond besloot ons kabinet dat alle evenementen tot 1 september geen doorgang zullen vinden. In België heeft de Federale Regering vorige week een soortgelijk besluit genomen, maar sprak men over het niet door kunnen gaan van massa-evenementen tot september. Dit gaf ons als organisator van de LBL Ardennen Classic nog enige hoop op een andere uitkomst, omdat de Belgische Federale Regering nog geen definitie heeft gegeven wat exact als massa-evenement wordt gezien. Echter, na de berichtgeving vanavond, willen wij nu niet met Nederlandse deelnemers en vrijwilligers naar België afreizen in augustus om deze klassieke heuvelrit te rijden, terwijl dit in Nederland verboden is en in België de maatregelen nog niet duidelijk zijn gedefinieerd. We voelen ons daarom genoodzaakt de LBL Ardennen Classic 2020 af te gelasten. We begrijpen als geen ander dat het voor jou een grote teleurstelling is om niet deel te kunnen nemen aan de LBL Ardennen Classic, maar jouw gezondheid en die van vrijwilligers en medewerkers staat altijd voorop.
