So many things I want to say and shout from a rooftop about this classic Italian cocktail. Firstly, it was created in 1919, in part thanks to Count Camillo Negroni who wanted gin instead of soda in his Americano cocktail. Secondly, this is a drink that has many variations today (different spirits in place of gin, white negronis, the less bitter spirit Aperol instead of Campari), but a good solid classic can never be beat, so let’s make one! Tools: 1. Mixing glass 2. Measuring tool 3. Barspoon 4. Julep or Hawthorne strainer 5. Y-peeler Ingredients: 1. Gin (I love a London dry gin, like Beefeater, since it reads very clean and dry in a Negroni, but choose your favorite!) 2. Sweet vermouth (Cocchi di Torino is my preference since it’s light, bright cherry and not too bitter which helps reign in the Campari.) *Don’t forget to refrigerate your vermouth. 3. Campari (you can’t have a classic Negroni without Campari y’all.) 4. Orange peel Recipe: 1. Equal parts (which is why this cocktail is so fun and easy to make) 1 oz each of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. 2. Combine these ingredients into your mixing glass, and fill with ice. *Stir until chilled. 3. Using your strainer, strain over one large 2x2 ice cube in a rocks/old fashioned glass. 4. Garnish with an orange peel, using your Y-peeler (not too much pith). Make sure to zest heavily so you get all of the fresh orange aromas and oils. I really believe the most important part of a Negroni is dilution. *When stirring this cocktail, remember that this drink is all booze (no citrus) and it’s very viscous, so it needs to be properly diluted and then some. No one wants a syrupy or unbalanced drink. The colder/dense ice is always best for stirring, but sometimes not always an option at home, so beware of ice chips and find the best pieces you can. I really like stirring it first and pouring over a large cube because then your drink is perfectly diluted and won’t melt too fast as you sip and savor it. If you don’t have large ice cubes, no problem, just remember to add more ice after stirring your drink to top it off. Hello everyone 👋🏼 During lockdown I got alittle bored and started creating jewellery. At first it was all for fun and to have a couple new pieces for myself but why not turn a hobby into a side hustle. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I am based on the south coast, so pickup and drop off are available to the south coast lovely’s. I can also post, I will be asking the customer to pay for shipping cause I’m keeping the jewellery at a low price. Why pay $50 for something that cost not even half that to make 😂 They are all one of a kind hand crafted pieces unless you want a custom order exactly like another piece. Some of the pieces are very delicate and need to be handled with care so please remember that. ¿Qué es un moodboard? Es un tablero de inspiración o de referencias que nos sirve para empezar a bajar visualmente un concepto y luego poder aplicar estos elementos que usamos en él. En diseño se usa muy seguido. Creo que dónde es más popular es en moda. Es muy común verlo de forma física en planchas de corchos todas estas fotos, materiales, pedazos de tela, hojas secas y todo lo que es pertinente a esa colección de moda. En publicidad lo solemos bajar en forma de Key Visual para una campaña. Y también lo podes usar para bajar la comunicación visual de tu cuenta de Instagram. Es tu biblioteca de elementos gráficos para empezar a componer tus posteos. En mi ebook Dirección de arte para Instagram muestro cómo empezar a usarlo y bajarlo para armar tus propios posteos. This spoke to my inner child hard. A major part of the emotional healing sobriety has led me to includes inner child work. I remember feeling powerless a lot as a little girl. As the youngest of 4 with my closest sibling nearly a decade older than me I always knew that I was loved but I never felt I belonged. In hindsight I see how fortunate I was in the day to day as a kid but I’m learning that doesn’t invalidate the traumas I experienced in silence because I didn’t have that sense of belonging. Drinking made me feel I belonged. Suddenly I was funny and social and spoke exactly what was on my mind. It’s not that I felt in control when I drank, it’s that I silenced the anxieties that craved control when I drank. Most of the triggers I face now that I’ve taken that quick fix away come in moments I feel powerless. I’m working on this by reminding myself I am safe, l’m healing, and there is nothing to be afraid of. Whatever I am facing now I already have an advantage of compared to my past self because I’m not battling this AND nursing a hangover and that is a battle worth fighting. #soberlife #soberliving #alcoholfree #soberlatina - @mimosafreemijita on Instagram
