I have been asked in the past What do you consider a Top Child Model? Its sort of a loaded question, right? But let me take a stab at it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * Ok, so first, child models aren’t like Supermodels- they’re not really household names to people who aren’t in the business thus know some of the busier kids names. & really, how many people not in the business can name me a Supermodel whose not also a socialite anyway? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * Stop thinking there is some sort of a tier you need to reach to consider your kiddos time in the business successful or not. Are they having fun? Do they enjoy the experiences? Are they making new friends? Cool. They’re successful. Go ahead and call them a Top Model now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * I represent some kids who work all the time. They’re busier than other kids I rep. But there are so many factors that go into this- size, availability, personality, look, time of year & what a client is looking for etc- these all have to fall into place at just the right time. For some, it will. For others, not as much. What I don’t have, is a Top Model board. Kids who are marketed more than others because of jobs booked, money made, castings invited to. What do I think makes a Top Model? One who gets it & loves it, & doesn’t live or die by it. Today I felt pretty, put together, neat and “my old self” - for a few hours before my hair was up in a bun and my dress was flung off for something more comfortable to breastfeed in!🤭 . . Never compare your everyday self to beautifully curated images on social media- there’s nothing wrong with pretty pictures, but more days I look more like the other photos in this reel- messy, little to no makeup, baggy clothes- it’s a season I’m in and I’ve accepted it! ☺️ . . It can be hard as a mom to compare your journey to others, but remember a lot of what we see on Instagram is not always real life. This photo was just a glimpse of my day - not at all the full picture!! . „Ich bin halt keine Meditations-Susi“ 😳 Keine was? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Diesen Satz hat eine Freundin von mir vor ein paar Jahren zu mir gesagt, und sie hat mich mit diesem Satz automatisch zu einer Meditations-Susi ernannt. Eben weil ich ihr erzählte, ich meditiere🧘🏼‍♀️ Das „Meditations-Susi“ klang meiner Meinung nach entwertend. Offensichtlich hatte meine Freundin das Meditieren noch nie versucht und der Meditation von vornherein ein lächerliches Image beigemessen. Mir war’s wurscht. War ich halt ne Susi 😂 Fakt war, ich hatte deutlich mehr Klarheit gewonnen für mein Leben und vor allem mein Geschäft ‼️ Ich gehe sogar so weit, zu sagen, dass ich ohne Meditation nicht so erfolgreich in meinem Business geworden wäre. Wieso? Weil ich durch regelmäßiges Meditieren wieder zu mir gefunden habe, zu meinem Selbstbewusstsein, zu meinen Fähigkeiten & Talenten 🙋🏼‍♀️🔥 Ich habe schließlich kapiert, wie gut ich kann, was ich kann und habe mein Coachingbusiness gestartet, das mich im gesamten DACH-Raum mega Leute hauptsächlich ab CEO Level in ihrer Präsentation transformieren lässt 🧑🏾‍💻👩🏼‍💻🧑🏻‍💼🤳🏼 Es geht nicht darum Menschen Meditation aufzwingen zu wollen❌ Es gibt zig Werkzeuge, die zu innerer Ruhe, Klarheit & Fokus führen ✨ Es geht darum, andere(s) nicht zu bewerten und sich zu öffnen für Neues. Wer immer nur tut, was er tut, wird schwer wachsen, oder? If you had told me 4 months ago that I would be saying thank you to toxic mold I would have laughed in your face.⁣ ⁣ In May I started to experience some eerie health symptoms. Body aches. Night Sweats. Headaches. Nausea. Fatigue. And this metallic taste in my mouth that would NOT go away no matter how much I brushed my teeth.⁣ ⁣ The symptoms would fade but never fully dissipated. My relationships took a major hit and so did my ability to focus at work. I canceled trips, my gym membership, and I pretty much stopped committing to anything.⁣ ⁣ At my lowest point, I drove myself to the ER and left with “there’s no medical reason why this is happening to you”. I was devastated. ⁣ ⁣ After western medicine failed me, I began asking for guidance from my angels. I would cry at night praying for answers. When I left my husband, I knew I wanted to see what I was capable of, but FUCK, this was NOT what I had in mind. ⁣ ⁣ So I scheduled a call with an energy healer. The healer proceeded to tap into my field, and within minutes said to me, “Honey, you have high levels of toxic mold in your system”. She even identified where the mold was coming from in my apartment.⁣ ⁣ I cried tears of relief, sadness, and total awe of her magic. Fast forward to 3 days ago, I got the results back from my mold test...abnormally high levels of two different types of toxic mold. ⁣ ⁣ So I began to reflect. Why had this mold come into my life? ⁣ ⁣ For one, it gave me a deep appreciation of partnership. There were many times in my marriage where I took Chris’ support for granted. ⁣ ⁣ I learned how incredibly strong I am. The things in my relationship that I couldn’t have IMAGINED doing on my own, I was now navigating solo.⁣ ⁣ Plus, I found my voice at a level I had never known. I did things like fight to get out of my lease and booked a solo trip. ⁣ Now I get to say thank you mold. We’ve come a long way baby. From a teeny tiny spare bedroom on the third floor of my Philly home to a team of 7 creating garments for folks around the world, so much can change, so quickly. (Swipe to see some pics from our current studio to our very first studio). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few days ago our three year anniversary came and went without my fanfare (honesty. I forgot!). That first year in business was a terrible disaster. I had no idea what I was doing (some days I still don’t know what I am doing), I couldn’t figure out how to make a sale, and I wasn’t a strong enough sewer to sew full time. In early 2018 I realized that if I wanted to make this work I needed help, and I needed it ASAP. So with my last few dollars I hired my first person, Abby, and they are still with me to this day! I quickly learned that building a phenomenal team and a strong community is the surest way to building a successful business. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This year has been a hell of a trip (if you’d told me my third year in business I’d have to battle a pandemic, I don’t think I would have started!) But you all have stood by us, supported us, and extended endless patience to us. For that, I am sincerely grateful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been the face of Alice Alexander since we started back then in 2017, but what I’ve learned since starting, and even more so this year with Covid and closures, is that team and community is everything. Nothing worth doing can be done alone. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With that, I wanted to let this community know that our team at Alice Alexander will be taking over our social media communication, including Instagram. Tamara Łempicka was a Polish painter who spent her working life in France and the United States. She is best known for her polished Art Deco portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy, and for her highly stylized paintings of nudes. Born in Warsaw, Lempicka briefly moved to Saint Petersburg where she married a prominent Polish lawyer, then travelled to Paris. She studied painting with Maurice Denis and André Lhote.
