I’ve found it really useful seeing what other makeup artists have done to make their kit covid safe. So I wanted to share my set up. I’ve been consulting this past week (I’ve touched no faces, only hair, I promise). Getting my kit reorganised and fully deep cleaned took for ever but I’m happy with the set up I have. ✖️ Bed roll instead of towels ✖️ 70% IPA ✖️ Hand sanitiser ✖️ @barbicideblue for tools & hard surfaces. ✖️Cif professional wipes - bacterial & viruses. ✖️ @iso_clean brush cleaner. ✖️ Palette & spatula sets - in their own sealed packaging. Clean for each model. I have 3 of these and for bridal will alternate between clients. One in use, one in @barbicideblue. ✖️Brush sets - sealed brush sets for each model/client. Enough for the day. No spot cleaning of brushes & reusing. But @iso_clean on hand if I need to clean brush for the same client/model. ✖️Sample/travel size mascaras. I also now have @eyeko full size mascaras as they’re easy to squeeze on to palette. ✖️Sealed bin. Currently using @mykitco pod as it can be compacted down in kit after use. ✖️ Disposables. Bamboo mascara & lip wands, cotton buds, gauze etc. All in separate sealed bags & contained in one big zip bag. ✖️ Clip lock container for putting tools in @barbicideblue. Also a small cup container for pencil sharpeners/ eyelash curlers. ✖️ Folding bowl (compact for fitting in kit) for everything used/touched. Everything is then cleaned before going back in my kit. ✖️ 5 well palettes for model kits and touch ups. These are just old @rcmamakeup foundation palettes that I’ve cleaned and repurposed. ✖️ Visor from @mowbrayleather ✖️ @juddmedical Face mask ✖️Gloves if required Very minimal product out. Only what is needed. All my kit is in sealable zip bags that I wipe down after handling & put back in case. Whilst consulting I’ve made up kits for models, decanting product on to palettes & using loose powders or creams where possible. But if not doing the cotton pad trick for pressed powders (watch @babskymakeup video). I’ve then advised at a distance with mask & visor on.
