This glass cage to me represents our fears, our insecurities, our pain that keep us locked in a transparent glass cage through which we see the world and the people. Some of us wallow in self pity and romanticize our darkness because melancholia can be the muse to the artist inside us. I was living in that cage until I decided to break out of it and see the world and the people through a new perceptive lens. I started seeing myself clearly once I broke out of that bubble or cage we built for ourselves because of our past. I believe when we start reflecting and seeing ourselves clearly away from our old haunts and pain, we will see the potential not only in ourselves but also in others that they may not see themselves because they live in that glass cage. I find peace, confidence and love inside me once I began to understand myself deeper. I believe that glass cage is the reason why most people feel like they are a failure when in reality, nobody’s a failure. Everybody has enormous potential within them that they simply don’t recognize. Simply because they live in a self made glass cage of fears and insecurities and other people’s opinions of them. While it’s true our insecurities may never leave us but we should never see ourselves through our insecurities. Insecurities are a part of us but only a small part. There’s a huge ocean of potential within us that’s hidden and in order to find it, we have to break out of the metaphorical glass cage that’s holding us back. We have to see our worth not through other’s eyes but through our very own. Start seeing yourself from your own eyes and not from people’s opinions of you or your success stories or your pain or your relationships. Start seeing yourself from what makes you who you are at the core. Discover that person. And you’ll know that only sky will be the limit then. Introspect, find who you are away from your pain and you’ll find a paradise within you. Free yourself from the cage. It’s only you that can do that. It only starts with a choice to understand yourself and the lies you feed yourself everyday. You are way stronger than anything that holds you back. - @avalone.rae on Instagram

When I was a young raver (hehe) I surprised myself when I became fascinated with how policies affect even the shows you and I love. I used to “not be so interested in politics” too, probably like many of you. But we owe it to ourselves and the next generation to do our homework and care. Because politics touches everything — even the fun stuff, that seems invincible — whether you like it or not. Dance music was born as an expression of self in a world that wasn’t kind or accepting and a lot of that had to do with politics of the times. But it has given people power to actually change the status quo. It has that magic! ✨ Rave The Vote is a not-for-profit series aimed to rally our community to register to vote, and all four episodes will include educational programming alongside sick DJ sets. I’m really proud of my best friends for creating something so awesome and so vital and it’s inspiring to see how such a crew has rallied behind the effort! I’ve got some FUN hosty bits coming and am stoked to be helping creatively pull RTV together 🤗 We are on a long break from the dance floor, but that spirit still deserves to be out into the world. The reviews from my mom are in!! I was a “soft and kind Lumiere”!!! Today was an absolute whirlwind in the very best way- what a lovely thing it is to prove to yourself that you can do something you didn’t think you could do. I wouldn’t have been able to do anything at all without the support system that is the cast and crew of the @paramountaurora- from wiping off my sweat to feeding me water to drink bc i literally didn’t have hands lol. Seeing the show from a more elegant and sophisticated lens before we close this weekend reminded me how absolutely stunning this show is, how much of a calming rockstar @staffordlaird is (and how gorgeous she looks in the gold dress) and how at home i feel on that stage, no matter what costume I’m wearing 🥐🕯5 more chances to see me in my normal track before finishing off with 2 more performances as Lumiere during the Matinees this Saturday and Sunday ! Além do papel embrionário de carnavalesco, revolucionário e professor genial, a forte personalidade impulsionou e garantiu o cargo de comentarista na TV Manchete. As opiniões e o amor pela folia renderam cenas imortais que o @Carnavalize traz para celebrar a vida do grande mestre Em 1989, um de seus pupilos mais promissores, João Trinta, apresentou à frente da Beija-Flor um desfile revolucionário. Entretanto, a escultura do Cristo Redentor proposta para o abre-alas gerou muita polêmica, sendo vetada pela Arquidiocese do RJ. O fato revoltou o mestre. Esse é um momento glorioso!. Ainda no desfile da Beija-Flor de 1989, Pamplona, que já se mostrava emocionado com o que via, foi ao delírio quando os integrantes da escola começam a despir o Cristo censurado. O carnaval de 1989 foi realmente iluminado. Enquanto as escolas encantavam na pista, Fernando Pamplona dava um show com seus comentários na transmissão. Na União da Ilha, não agradou muito por levar à Avenida essa marchinha descarada e sem vergonha! Baiana não é não! Baiana que não tem nem mão? (...) vai inventar no raio que a parta, o artista ficou bem contrariado com a Ala das Baianas do Império Serrano no ano de 1995. A fantasia Rainhas do Tempo descaracterizou a ala, na sua opinião. A grossa porcaria não teria como ficar de fora, né?! O desfile de 1995 do Império Serrano não agradou em nada o nosso querido mestre. Com ressalvas para bateria e samba-enredo, o resto estava tudo reprovado. Protesto contra essa multidão (...) que vem assistir de dentro da pista o desfile. Nem mesmo a sua escola de coração, o Salgueiro, foi poupada! O desfile de 1996 recebeu criticas por conta dos encamisados que atrapalharam a evolução da escola. Eu não vou comentar mais porra nenhuma não, merda, não deu!.
