The “born in the wrong body” narrative may be what some people felt but honestly, it’s not a generalisation that should be applied to all children who have intersex traits/variations of sex development, or are gender non-conforming/non-binary. Trying to make everything simple and easy to understand is useful but not when it is reductive. Stop using single stories to explain differences. It feels like forcing someone to find a problem with their body when in reality the problem is with a society that is too gendered. Gender exists as a social construct, it changes according to location, time, cultures and more... for some people it’s unquestionable and natural, for others, it’s more complex.
