That’s a wrap for the Crowchild Trail Upgrades! 👏 With the goal of improving traffic flow along Crowchild Trail from Bow Trail to 5 Avenue N.W., moving traffic more efficiently on to and off of the road, and improving connections for pathway users in the area, this project is now mostly complete (with some minor work and cleanup remaining). The sheer magnitude and complexity of this work is what’s put it on the map - Adding new lanes, relocating ramps, upgrading the existing pathway system, and rehabilitating & retrofitting bridges which together, stretch over the Bow River, CP Railway and LRT tracks, other major roadways, pathways and sensitive habitats, all while maintaining traffic flow. Well, we did it, and we never could have without you. Hellroaring Basin update! This spring, we began a multi-phase project to increase accessibility and improve terrain variety in Hellroaring Basin. This initial phase included clearing timber for the new runs and lift line, as well as glading areas adjacent to runs, and re-sloping areas on the Hell Fire run to eliminate the negative grades. Phase 1 has been completed! Phase 2 includes relocating Chair 8 in 2021, which will allow the resort to open Hellroaring Basin earlier in the season.
