It’s been a year since my sweet dad passed. I never shared fully on here because it feels sacred. So I’m sharing parts of the talk I gave at his funeral to honor him now. “A man who fought fiercely to preach the power and love of God and FAMILY. If you met him, he would hug you. No matter what you looked like, believed or even smelled like, it didn’t matter. He loved a good country song, his fine cowboy hats and a taste for the finer things... like his nice suits and always spoke of that Rols Royce with chinchilla seats that he’d get one day. He spent his life dedicating himself to the service of others. From the beginning of his time in the Vietnam War at the young age of 17 to the day he passed. He was always serving. Hundreds of families were blessed by his want to give to those in need. He taught us that you always have the Lord, you are never alone. And that the power of prayer is real. Never letting us leave a family gathering without holding hands in prayer together. He truly loved us all so much and would do anything for us. He gave us all he could and tried his best with what he knew how. He fought and forever faced the trauma of war and the demons that follow and tried his hardest to turn it around and give his life to the Lord. He wasn’t perfect, none of us are and we all make mistakes but I can say I know he loved the lord and his family and that’s what mattered to him most. I am heartbroken for what could have been for him and for what came. Cancer escalated his time here on earth and though we have differing beliefs, I know we will see him again. Fully restored to his true and healthy body. Free from pain and misery. I can see him smiling at me the way he always does and did on his last day here on earth, he couldn’t speak but I knew what he felt. I imagine him also hugging his mother, his brother, my sister Desiree, my baby Peyton and all those who have passed that we love so dearly. A beautiful reunion. “ Forever missing him. Day 25... A valuable lesson I learned over the years is that there is never going to be that perfect time to start working towards a goal. I didnt start my journey by looking at a calendar and selecting a random month to say Thats the day I will start and embrace my journey. Hell no, I had goals I wrote them out, I visualized them and I made that shit happen! My advice is to start now! Dont wait for that golden opportunity put in the ground work now! I was in Hawaii and Tanoai was in California. He called me from the hospital and was emotional that Sue had just delivered a baby boy. Tanoai and I grew up more like brother and sister so it was natural that we raise our kids the same. I watched this kid grow up from that blond haired naughty 2 year old to this calm young man with the biggest heart just like his dad. Tanoai & Sue, you both did such a wonderful job on raising Samson. Everything the both of you do is for him including moving back to Hawaii from California so he could establish his own roots at Kahuku High School. You both love him but not spoil him. Amazing👑 ・・・ #Repost @thisbyrdsnest ・・・ • 36 Weeks IN : 36 Weeks OUT Until recently , I’ve lived in shock of this journey that God trusted to make beautiful, despite its challenges. Over the span of 72 weeks my life changed drastically from social interactions, to physical demands. I knew many wouldn’t understand how much needed to shift in my life in order for me to step into a role of Mothering Multiples, in addition to three older little ones; neither did I. My commitment to others has been questioned and I’ve gained an immense amount of strength through this phase. It started with 3 goals in mind when I discovered my Triplets’ expectancy: 1. I would do WHATEVER it took to carry them to 36 weeks 2. I would be front row at my daughter’s Preschool Graduation, 4 days before our 36 week date 3. I would share this journey and embrace the challenges ahead They have come to pass and that makes me full. Today I’m more focused and driven than I’ve ever been. I’ve learned that 2 things can happen when going through challenging, lift-altering, either it can MAKE YOU or BREAK YOU! God has provided me peace and a sound mind, as promised. Just like you, ‘I don’t know how I do it!’ It’s the pure strength that Christ has given me and it will carry me as long as I need to wear this crown of Motherhood. & I wear it proudly, while owning my role and living up to my responsibilities. For this pic I draped my favorite maternity dress over my obvious postpartum body, remembering how debilitating it was to carry three in utero and how miraculous it was to feel their squirms all throughout the day.
