It all started with a tweet and a prayer. About a month ago, after seeing the Chicago Black Town Hall I realized that the Bay needed a wake up call too. I messaged @eastbayvicious and we started talking about doing a town hall, similar to Chicago’s but also addressing our own issues. After that I contacted @militiasf @afrikaamerica @nostalgiajunki3 and @cocobuttah85 to create what is now the @baqncoalition . Soon after we new that what we were about to do was make a change for the better in our community. That’s when Freddie created our amazing survey and we brought on @chrissteelecreates and @amourateese . I want to give a huge thank you to @floridamaniac who ran the tech for us, thank you with out you there wouldn’t have been a town hall. Thank you to @prep_alpha and @thechotovelli for working with us to get folks paid and being patient with me as I learn a whole new side of organizing. Thank you Freddie, you are the epitome of a leader. You are one of the greatest voices of all time. You deserve all the good things in live and all the accolades, you deserve murals and roses and all the good things in live because you are part of making the movement not just leading it. I hope you know how much respect I have for you and admiration. This work is a labor of love, it is our love letter to our community. While we continue to organize remember to continue on sending these beautiful people their roses and actually support their livelihood not just interact when there’s a shady post but help us survive wether it’s finding work, housing, or just sending love. Something HUGE has happened to me recently - I have become a qualified hairdresser 💇‍♀️ 💕 Over the last year I have been working hard to retrain in a new career since being made redundant from my day job. Then discovering we were having Isaac as well, life just didn’t feel the same as it did back when I started Elsie Vee Vintage. Therefore after a lot of discussions with my family, I have decided to leave the wedding dresses behind and focus on hair and my new profession. It is with mixed feelings I am writing this and have been putting it off for ages! ➖ SO ➖ sometime this week I will start to sell off my stock - keep your eye out for a bargain if you still haven’t found your dream dress 🥰 ➖ AND ➖ as most of you know I love vintage hair the most, and wish to be a specialist vintage hair stylist one day. I want to show the truth and disparity amongst what’s really happening out there for those that are not able to experience it for themselves. I took ISE 491: Consumer Products Sustainability and Engineered Systems over Winter J Term because I wanted to gain first hand experience of solving environmental problems in a developing country. * * Eight engineering students, five cities, one bus and infinite memories. Through our j-term course, we are learning about the issues in sustainability and India’s methods of improvement. At IIT Delhi, we learned about how they divert 93% of their waste sent to landfill through recycling and composting processes. Sustainable initiatives are promoted throughout India and fights to improve air pollution, climate change and overfilling their landfills. We visited Delhi and Agra on our first five days. At the Delhi Museum, we saw artifacts as old as 3000 BCE! We strolled through artisan markets and ate flavorful Indian cuisine. We toured the Agra Fort and watched the sunset at the Taj Mahal. We rode tuk tuks in the chaotic roads and observed the street culture. With it only being day 5 out of 14, we have learned so much about India’s culture and its tackles on sustainability issues. Overweldigd door alle volgers hier op Instagram! Ik weet niet wat me overkomt… Op mijn zoon na, krijg ik van veel mensen positieve en warme reacties. Vanmiddag was ik te gast bij Lof der Geneeskunst, om te praten over het Coronavirus. Daar onder meer besproken dat we nu zien dat we in de afgelopen twee weken meer patiënten hebben gekregen, maar relatief gezien is het op de intensive care iets rustiger. Nu liggen er meer mensen op de ‘normale’ afdeling. Zorgen over genoeg bedden zijn er, maar dat komt ook omdat we gebrand zijn om de reguliere zorg door te laten gaan. We willen nu dus twee dingen, dus dat zorgt voor een ‘spanningsveld’, maar we zijn veel beter voorbereid dan de eerste keer, dus er wordt nu hard gewerkt, maar we zijn er ook klaar voor. Wat we ook merken is dat we te weinig verpleegkundigen hebben. Toen wij dertig, veertig jaar de IC hebben ingericht hadden we heel veel verpleegkundigen en weinig dokters. Nu hebben we meer dokters en weinig verpleegkundigen. We hebben heel veel mooie, innovatieve projecten, die ons kunnen helpen om de zorg anders te gaan doen, zodat we minder mensen nodig hebben. Niet zozeer omdat we minder mensen nodig hebben, maar zodat de mensen die er zijn écht empathische zorg kunnen leveren. Er écht kunnen zijn voor de patiënten, het gesprek aangaan met de familie. Dat willen we nog meer optimaliseren. Ik denk dat we dat hebben laten liggen de laatste tien jaar. Ik denk dat we een beetje lui zijn geworden de laatste tien jaar. Hoje é nossa última noite em Lisboa. Todo mundo já teve algum “mixed feelings” na vida, e hoje estou em um desses momento aí. Eu sou apaixonada por esse lugar, e eu andei tanto por cada pedacinho dessa cidade que sinto que deixei meu coração em cada um deles, como pãozinho trilhando caminho na floresta, sabe?! Por mais que estejamos indo para menos de 20km daqui (pra quem é de São Paulo isso não é nada 😅), estamos indo para outro concelho, outro distrito, e nossa casa não é mais Lisboa. Mas, os pães foram jogados, e meu coração sempre estará vagando por aqui, e a um pulinho de distância pra matar a saudade quando quisermos (já estou prevendo meus rolês de bike até Belém pelo barco, me aguardem 🚴). Além da “já saudades”, abro espaço pra felicidade no meu peito também, nessa fase que desejamos tanto: estar pertinho do mar, um lugar mais tranquilo, uma experiência novinha pra explorarmos de coração aberto. Afinal, home is where the heart is, e meu coração está com esses 3 seres que me acompanham há um tempo, 🧔🏻👦🏼🐶 e sei que sempre seremos felizes onde estivermos pq somos nossa própria casa. 방구석 추억 여행📷 📍프랑스 대한민국 대사관 - #embassy #ambassade #대사관 - 싱숭생숭한 마음이로 다시 온 파리. 몽생미셸 일정을 제대로 못마친 아쉬움이 있지만 파리에서의 일정도 기대됐다. 제 피드의 팬분들은 아시겠지만 제가 누구인가? 날씨요정이다. 요정하기엔 너무 크지만 그러려니 하시라. 세상 좋은 날씨였다. 내생애 두번째 파리. - 파리의 일정은 이랬다. 다음 행선지가 영국이기 때문에 여권 재발급이 급했다. 그래서 여권 발급 후 보르도에서 못간 경찰서에가서 분실 신고를 하는 스케쥴. 여행 도중에 한시가 아까운 시간들인데 마음 한켠에 불편함이 있었다. 하지만 인생 길게 보면 젊을때 이런 경험 하는게 좋은 거 아닌가라는 스스로에게 위로를 했다. 응 아니야 이런 경험은 듣기만 해도 돼 글쓴이🤦🏻‍♂️ - 어찌됐든 날씨가 너무 좋았고 다른 나라에서 대사관 처음 가봤고 여권이 다행히 하루만에도 나왔고! 같이 여권을 발급받은 친구들이 나랑 여행 스타일이 잘맞았다. 같이 이동하는 사람들이 너무 많다 보니 개개인적으로 친해지기가 어려웠다. 이 기회에 친해졌고 대중교통을 이용하기 보단 걷는 것을 좋아하는 친구들이었다. 물론 지도 보는 역할은 내 몫. 여튼 여권 재발급 받으면서 셋다 바보 같이 날씨 예술 와 와 와. 이러면서 돌아다님... - 정확하게 기억은 안나지만 여권을 발급 받고 경찰서에 간갈로 기억이 난다. 너무 친절히 응대해줘서 감사했고 그 중 태권도를 배웠다면서 친히 티셔츠를 입고와주신 경찰아저씨. 고맙습니다. 담에 파리가면 볼 수 있으면 좋겠어요. 잘지내시죠? 복받으실거에요. - 분실신고를 하고 라라랜드에 간판만 나왔다는 재즈클럽 방문. 문화충격이었다. 음악이 나올때 너무 자연스럽게 춤추는 사람들. 이게 자연스러운 문화겠지 이들에게는. 영화의 한 장면을 실제로 보는 새로운 경험. 마치 미드나잇 인 파리! 노래가 마치고 재즈싱어 음 누나라고 하기엔 뭐하고 그래 이모님이랑 사진도 찍었다. 그리고 나와서 춤 추는 사람들이 있길래 구경했는데 나보고 나와서 춤추란다. 술도 안마시고 그런거 좋아하지도 않는데 왜 나갔지. 이게 사람을 몰아가면 하게 되는거 같다. 분위기 망치고 싶지 않은 생각. 동영상을 올리고 싶지만 여러분들의 눈을 위해 킵. - 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이룬다는 성경구절이 있다. 내 해석으로는 어떤 것도 의미 없지 않고 그 모든 것이 모여서 좋은 일이 된다라고 해석하고 있다. 이러한 아픈일도 좋은일도 모여서 결국엔 좋은 기억 추억이 되겠지. 친한 형의 강아지가 어제 갑자기 세상을 떠났다. 마음이 너무 아리다. 나랑 같이 뛰어 놀던 귀여운 친구였는데 선천적인 간 혈관 문제로 일찍 천국으로 갔다. 이런 슬픈 일을 볼땐 하나님 이건 무슨 뜻이죠? 솔직히 원망을 하게 될 때도 있다. 사람이 알지 못하는 하나님의 뜻이 있으시겠지. 형을 위로하고 싶지만 내가 너무 부족하다. 어떤 말로 어떤 행동으로 위로해야할지 모르겠다. 부디 마음을 잘 추스려서 잘 극복하면 좋겠다. 그래도 하늘나라가서 다시 만날 날을 기대할게 대박아. 거기서도 나 보면 달려와 안겨서 좋아해줘. 주변 사람들에게 잘해야겠다. 있을때 더 잘해요 우리. - @jacob_kiimm on Instagram

うらやましい街の誕生 #立川グリーンスプリングス The “well-being town”, #TachikawaGreenSprings is a peaceful green town that makes most of other Tokyoite jealous 　どちらの方向を見ても緑が溢れていて、空間の「間」の取り方の尺度が日本ではない。よく観察すると看板やノボリといった頭を疲れさせる文字の情報がほとんどないのも、ここがリラックスできる一因かも知れない。 　どっちの方向こをみて広々と開放的で居心地が良く、中にいると日本にいることを忘れる。 　では、日本ではなくてどこかと言われると、ちょっと米国のグーグル本社のキャンパスを思い出す（看板などの広告がないことも含めて）。 　たが、グーグル本社よりかはもう少し広々としているし、緑もはるかに多い。さらに街の中を小川が流れていたりして、そこで子供たちが裸足で遊んでいる。 　さらに、どの建物も派手な色とかではなく、素材であったり、開放感に寄り添った屋根の形などでさりげなく主張する大人な建物。そして、どの建物も、そこかしこにさりげないオシャレさがある。 　この中に小川も流れる広大な緑を囲むように美術館もあれば、PLAY MUSEUMという子供が1日中遊べる楽しくもかわいらしい施設があり、巨大なホールがあり、多くの飲食店やセレクトショップがあり、オフィスがありとなんともぜいたくなつくり。 　デベロッパーが居心地の良い街にするために全体を通してのアートディレクションをしっかりしている街。だからこその美しさ、心地良さがあったのだと思う。 　土曜日、この気になる町を町の名士、福永紙工の代表、山田明良さんに案内してもらうという贅沢な時間を過ごした。 集合場所は駅からGREEN SPRINGSの２階にあがるエレベーターを昇ってすぐにある巨大セレクトショップ、「TAKEOFF-SITE」。中に入ると、右にローカルラジオのスタジオが、そして正面に目立つ黄色いプロペラ機が飾られている。よく見ると床には滑走路が描かれている。 　プロペラ機の翼には「タチヒ」の文字。 　昔、この地で飛行機を製造していた会社で、その後、デベロッパーに転身したそうだ。 　そのタチヒに、このグリーンスプリングスの顔ともなる店を任され、コロナ禍で他のテナントが店を開けられない中、まっさきにオープンしたのが、この「TAKEOFF-SITE」。まさにグリーンスプリングスの静かなTAKE OFF（離陸）を担ったお店。 　そして、その店の運営を任されているのが、「 #空気の器 」や「 #テラダモケイ 」といった商品で、世界のミュージアムショップに愛される世界に誇れる立川ブランド、福永紙工だ。 　店の奥には先日、渋谷スクランブルスクエアの東急ハンズで展開されていたような福永紙工 #かみの工作所 の商品が愛らしく展示されている。 　その横には、立て付けの本棚に地元のブックセレクターが選んだ選書。 　そして入り口の近くには福永紙工が選んだ地元企業の商品がセレクトされ並べられている。 　まさに立川のステキを知れる店。グリーンスプリングスを訪れたら、まっさきに寄って欲しい店の１つ。 　もう１つ寄って欲しいのは「Rust」。先日、林美保子さんの案内で訪れた名古屋にできた新しい街、グローバルゲートで出会って、あまりにもステキで惚れてしまったグリーン（観葉植物）の店。置いてあるグリーンのチョイスが、置かれ方が、そして一緒に売られている装飾品や小道具がどれもおしゃれでいい雰囲気。都内のグリーンショップの感覚で2600円くらいかな？と値段を見ると240円といった具合で、この雰囲気ならもっと高い値段でも売れそうなのに、まるで町の園芸ショップ並みの良心的価格から逆に、世の中をステキなグリーンで満たそうという心意気が伝わってくる。立川グリーンスプリングスで緑いっぱいの環境を見た後だと、大人買いして仕事部屋をグリーンで埋めたくなる衝動に駆られる（でも、たぶん、世話をできないのでやめておいた）。 　「はらぺこあおむし」でお馴染みエリック・カールの展覧会（常設？）もあるオシャレな児童会館、PLAY! We have been on Deliveroo for the past number of weeks, we never really wanted to as a business as we felt it takes away from the in-store experience, which is what Network is all about, but like all businesses recently we had to adapt. The drivers are honestly the most friendly people we have ever come across and to be frank, not doing the most thankful of tasks, especially when the weather is shit.
