På söndag har vi en sista månförmörkelse i Stenbocken. Förmörkelseserien som pågått sedan juli 2018 i Kräftan och Stenbocken är över. Trycket har varit enormt under året, med Jupiter, Saturnus, Pluto och i sex veckor även Mars i Stenbocken samtidigt. Omstruktureringar, kontroll, transformation och begränsningar. Detta till trots så har vi inte nått något slut bara för att månen blir full. Saturnus är retrograd och har precis backat tillbaka in i Stenbocken. Jupiter och Pluto är också där, backandes, och kommer vara där ett bra tag framöver. Många prövningar är kvar. Mars har precis gått in i Väduren som vill vara först och bäst. Och Mars kommer vara i Väduren ovanligt länge, i sex månader, den här gången. Och Mqrs kommer att bråka ordentligt med Pluto och Jupiter. Darlings. Vi har en tuff tid framför oss. Men det som vissa av oss varit blinda för, ligger synligt nu. Det som vissa av oss försökt få andra att höra, se och förstå, har äntligen tagits emot. Vissa kanske kallar detta en amerikansk kamp. Men förtryck fungerar likadant över hela världen, i det mänskliga psyket. Det är en av de viktiga saker vi måste komma ihåg. Vi är alla lika, även om våra erfarenheter format oss olika, med eller mot vår vilja. På bloggen finns ett inlägg som pratar mer om detta, och om förmörkelserna som en möjlighet att se tydligare. Höras bättre. Förstå mer. Jag hoppas ni tar tillfället i akt. På söndag stänger vi den här dörren för ett tag. Låt oss öppna andra, nya, fulla av empati, sårbarhet, längtan efter förändring och massor av rannsakan om det är det vi behöver. Vi behöver alla söka i våra själar efter hur vi blivit dem vi blivit och varför. Vissa av oss behöver lyssna mer. Andra behöver få prata ostört. Kunta Kinteh - the brave Mandinka worrior who fought back!⠀ ⠀ Around 1750 in a village near Jurrureh located in The Gambia, west Africa, what would become a legend was born named Kunta Kinteh. He was from the Mandinka tribe, which is one of the biggest tribes still in West Africa. Being a young teenager at the time, Kuntah was captured and enslaved. He was taken to an Island where the slave catchers gathered all the enslaved (the Island is called Kunta Kinteh Island today), shipped to Goree Island, located in Senegal and then sold to an American slaveowner and therefore was taken to Maryland, USA. Amongst other enslaved Africans, he was forcefully removed from his home, family and everything he ever knew. ⠀ ⠀ •⠀ ⠀ As brave as he was though, he made several attempts to escape and refused to kneel down to the demands put on him. He resisted both his enslavement and the name Toby that his owner imposed on him. For this, he would get beaten and lashed which cracked open the skin of his back. After his fourth attempt at escape, the slave catchers gave him a choice: be castrated, or lose a foot. Kunta Kinteh chose the latter.⠀ ⠀ •⠀ ⠀ Kunta Kinteh’s story became mainstream when Alex Hailey, an African American author, traced back his ancestry to Kuntah Kinteh. The book is called Roots and it later on became a series with a huge number of viewers. To some, Kunta Kinteh is just a fictional figure who was mentioned in Alex Hailey’s book. Let me assure you that he was very much real and is a big part of The Gambias history. He is honoured and respected - as well as his family he was forced to leave back in The Gambia. They are still standing strong and have a strong connection to their ancestor Kunta Kinteh.⠀ ⠀ •⠀ ⠀ Kuntah Kinteh lived the rest of his life in the US. He got married and had a daughter. Unfortunately his family was sold off to other plantations and they all became separated. Kuntah Kinteh passed away in 1822 and it is said that he did so with a broken heart 🥀⠀ ⠀ We will never forget what a hero Kunta Kinteh was ✊🏿🇬🇲⠀ Did you know about this ancestor?⠀ Have you seen or read Roots?⠀ I need to see it again and definitely visit Kuntah Kinteh Island! - @africandiaries_ on Instagram

Read the story below 👇 “Flowers of Shatila” by Faten Anbar, femLENS documentary workshops participant in Shatila refugee camp, Beirut, Lebanon, October 2017. Photos are taken using mobile phone camera. I love roses so much. I toured the alleys of my camp, but unfortunately I could not find any roses or flowers, I found only one rose. The only plant I found I was disappointed, I was sad, my camp lacks any kind of nature and roses and flowers that adorn the place in its shape and fragrant scent. Yes, I was trying to pick up some of the plants next to one of the buildings inside the camp, so I was a little happy to have them. Yes, the camp of “Shatila” was crowded with people, houses, spaces and narrow playgrounds, but it was still beating with the love of its people. Everything changed. Despite the difficult living and all the changes, we find that the good and the steadfast are still alive inside the camp. However, as women we are keenly aware of the fact that how we exist and present ourselves is greatly impacted by the environments, in which we move. Further, there is no singular experience that all women share. The courage we seek to live authentically as our full selves does require us to first turn inward and recognise where we may be holding onto false narratives we picked up on the way. Further, we must acknowledge where we cling to our own socialisation and investments in false narratives about others. Only then is it possible to take wise action that is in service to the freedom of all women. + 𝗪𝐇𝐎 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐅𝐎𝐑? On this daylong retreat, @southseasangha & Stacie welcome all women-identified folk to take part in practices to explore courageous love and foster an environment of authentic interaction. + 𝐇𝐎𝗪 𝐈𝐓 𝗪𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒 This retreat will be conducted through Zoom. In the episode Jon Favreau mentioned how we did a rev giving him alien makeup and prosthetics while still trying to retain some of his likeness. Vi skall komma ihåg att utlandsförbanden vid denna tidpunkt tilldelades stridsbälte 304K; inte ens SV 2000 hade nått ut på trupp. 304K bestod av en livrem, ett ok, två fickor och en (värdelös) ficka för vattenflaska. Minst sagt magert. Den Sydafrikanska Stridsvästen – eller SADF Pattern 83 Battle Jacket som den egentligen heter – gjorde därför revolution bland soldaterna och sålde som smör, främst på PX i insatsområdet. Mängder av fickor. Låg vikt. Kardborre. Cordura. Breda och vadderade axelremmar, lätt att individanpassa; det här var bland det bästa man kunde ha. Exakt hur många som såldes minns vi inte, men vi är stolta över att ha rustat svenska soldater med liknande utrustning både in- och utrikes i över 25 år. Deze Officier van Justitie was in het verleden bestuursvoorzitter van het Meldpunt Discriminatie. Gelijktijdig met haar nam ook anti-racisme activist Mitchell @mitch_positivity, bekend van onder meer #KOZP, zitting in het bestuur. Na berichtgeving hierover van anonieme en extreemrechtse Twittertrollen, besloten media dat bericht over te nemen, insinuerende dat mevrouw Vreekamp bevooroordeeld zou zijn in de zaak tegen Akwasi, omdat zij tegen discriminatie is. (...) De reacties die ik ontving varieerden van ‘terug naar je eigen land’ tot een ‘bom erop’. En dit zijn nog de milde varianten. Overigens kwam er naast het expliciete geweld en racisme ook nog flink wat seksisme en homofobie tussen neus en lippen door voorbij.
