Today were remembering the incredible life and legacy of @Irving_Berlin. Berlin passed away today in 1989 at his home in Manhattan, just a few miles from the Lower East Side tenement he lived in when he wrote the first of his 1,500 songs. He was 101 years old. Berlin was celebrated a month later by Edward Sorel with this illustration.
