My parents have joined the 100,000+ Californians ordered to evacuate their home, but yesterday they snuck back in to collect their greatest, flammable valuables. Mom showed me what she grabbed for me over FaceTime this morning. He appears about ten seconds in and was the object of much dispute (though these videos clarify some of the history) but once the dust settled, he was mine. Mom assures me the house will be fine, but were it all to go down (which it wont!) Ill be lucky to have raggedy old Gus, and fire resistant parents, and this well of life-giving video footage that spans back to my literal birth. I cant want for much. And for the love of...life, I hope amidst everything, (everything!), that you have people, that those people are doing well, and if its rough now, that it wont always be.
