It’s funny when the things that used to annoy you, you miss the most. 💔 Today is my sister Corrine’s birthday - the sister that my mom lost so late in her pregnancy before Clark. Thinking about that late last night, I did something I haven’t done in over 3 years. I looked through my mom’s text messages. Before, I would start tearing up just at the thought of reading her words, but for whatever reason I needed to see them now. Tears and all. And after going through them, I realized that she always checked in with me. A LOT 😅 like mothers do. I would get “u ok?” messages literally every week and I remember thinking at the time “ugh. So annoying. I’M FINE 🙄” just like any other kid. But now (especially this year), I miss that so much. I miss us worrying about each other, checking in with each other, and even just the random back and forth about what we needed at the grocery store... I don’t really talk about my mom much on social media anymore and I’m ashamed to say that I actually try not to think about her because it still hurts so much... but she’s my reason for starting my #wellnessjourney and a big part of who I am and I love her so much and miss her like crazy and I shouldn’t hide that. You really don’t know what you have until it’s gone. So go to your mom, embrace her, love her, and thank her for always worrying and thinking about you.🙏🏼 having a person out there like that is a blessing. This year, we’ve not only witnessed their wrenching disappointments, we’ve shared them in the most heartfelt way.⠀ ⠀ But in all the talking, consoling and digging deep to “find a way”, our soul-searching about how to move forward has made us reflect deeply on our reason for doing what we do.⠀ ⠀ Sure, it’s our livelihood. But the sheer privilege and joy of helping two people celebrate and declare their love, with those they love, in this place we have created and nurtured with love, cannot be adequately expressed.⠀ ⠀ Which is why we stopped taking bookings for 2021 until we know all our 2020 couples can set their sights on new dates if postponement (for some a possible second postponement 😔) is required and their wedding dreams can remain intact.⠀ ⠀ We now take nothing for granted - least of all certainty.⠀ ⠀ But, like you all, the Willow and Stone family is learning to adapt. We’re so proud of the many couples who are soldiering on, reshaping their dreams and zeroing in on what really matters.⠀ ⠀ For the sake of all these very special people who are now part of our lives, we’re determined to find a way through the challenges. Cruzamos la frontera entre EEUU y México el mismo día en que nuestro país celebraba su independencia. Nuestro sueño fue transformándose en realidad, nuestros viajes en expediciones y los proyectos, mediante nuestra productora, en películas y series de televisión. Pero hay disparadores que siempre estuvieron presentes: las ganas de seguir explorando, buscando nuevas olas, viendo animales salvajes en el mar, desiertos y selvas, queriendo conocer otras culturas, expandiendo nuestras fronteras de conocimiento, de límites, miedos, reinventándonos expedición a expedición e intentando comunicar mensajes con sentido a través de cada película. Nunca vamos a arrepentirnos de habernos animado a salir a cumplir nuestro sueño, aquel que emprendimos al dejar California con rumbo a Buenos Aires por todo el Continente Americano. Hoy después de haber recorrido más de 45 países podemos decir que ha sido un camino largo e intenso, de muchos aprendizajes y que con mucho esfuerzo, dedicación, tenacidad y pasión pudimos ir abriendo. Queremos agradecer a todas las personas que hicieron posible este camino: a los que siempre nos apoyan y nos dan aliento con mensajes sin siquiera conocernos, a los que nos conocen y nos empujan para seguir adelante, a los sponsors y productoras con quienes hemos tenido el placer de trabajar, a los distribuidores, revistas, medios de comunicación, a los canales de televisión que nos dieron espacios en sus pantallas, pero sobre todo, a la gente del camino que siempre está dispuesta a darnos una mano, nos brinda su ayuda y cariño de manera desinteresada.
