I remember clearly how I‘ve been wanting to start a blog for a while but I kept telling myself that there were already too many travel bloggers out there. The idea has never completely left my mind and at some point I just decided to go for it. It was a long journey of learning until I got where I am now. I started without knowing anything about SEO or keyword research. After hours (or rather days and nights) of watching YouTube tutorials and taking online courses I learned so much about blogging this past year. My goal is to inspire others to go out and to explore the world while appreciating the little things that make life beautiful. When the husband promises that the hike he picked would be worth it, he wasn’t kidding. This view was incredible. We were on the trailhead by 7:45 am and it was quiet. We passed a few people camping and a few that went up to catch the sunrise (we have to do that next time) and there was only a handful people at the top. The Azores are located smack in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between Boston and Europe. Part of Portugal they are spread out for just over 900 square miles, and are home to the tallest mountain in Portugal, which I hiked solo in the dark, as well as a few UNESCO World Heritage Sites, hot springs, volcanic calderas, vineyards and moody beaches. I loved the Azores and visiting a few of the 9 islands was part of my 11 day solo trip through Portugal a few years back. This was my first really big solo trip and really the beginning of my solo travel adventures, because I havent turned back since.
