30 September 1940 Oberleutnant Karl Fischer’s Bf109E-1 (Wn.4851 9+) of 7./Jagdgeschwader 27, after a forced landing near Queen Anne’s Gate, Windsor Great Park, Berkshire. The plane is subject to eager attention from the RAF salvage gang. The mission was a bomber escort. When the formation was on its way to the objective it was attacked by fighters (possibly Hurricanes from 303 Squadron), this aircraft getting into a dog fight. The combat was broken off and the pilot thought that he had not been hit. However an R/T message from his wingman told the pilot that he had a white petrol plume streaming behind and looking at his petrol gauge he noticed that the tanks were almost empty, so he made a forced landing. There were a number of bullet strikes from astern. (The pilot was captured and survived unhurt) Markings: 9 painted on yellow engine cowling. Spinner white, with black circle on tip. Some solid progress made with the Marron 90 over the last week. Nothing dramatic, just lots of little things. Next week the roof will go on and that’s kind of the ‘first fix’ where all the basics are in place and I can then move on to the finishing side of things. I guess you can start to get an idea of how the car will look. That temporary seat is actually very similar in colour to the woven leather interior that’s being made for it, so it gives a bit of a feel for the colour scheme. There are still a lot of fun details to come with this car and a few things to try. So far, so good. - @outlandervehicles on Instagram

Lamborghini continues to dazzle, entice and amaze car lovers with spectacular record-breaking supercars such as the new Urus SUV, Huracan Performante and earthshaking Aventador SVJ. All of which will be seen at Concorso. Historian of the marque note this is the 50-year anniversary of the last Islero made (225 units), the 40-year anniversary of the last Urraco (776 units) and Silhouette made (54 units) and the 30-year anniversary of the first year supplying engines for the Larrousse Formula 1 team, including drivers Michele Alboreto and Philippe Alliot. Roger Wiersema and Michael Palmieri, Co-Chief Judges for the Lamborghini Club America (LCA), coordinated by Andrew Romanowski, President of LCA, will lead the LCA judging effort with the support of an experienced and highly talented team of judges covering approximately five classes of vintages and types. LCA judging is open to all Lamborghinis and will be judged using the LCA judging instructions and scoring sheet available at the LCA website. Winners are eligible to receive a beautiful LCA Award trophy and Concorso audience recognition as they drive across the Concorso stage to receive their award. After you have registered for Concorso, please let the LCA judges know if you plan to have your car judged at: concoursjudging@lamborghiniclubamerica.com. There is no LCA judging registration fee but there will be a limit to the number of cars in each LCA judging class, so Lamborghini owners who want their cars judged at Concorso by LCA are strongly urged to let the LCA judges know so you are put on the top of the list and avoid being shut out.
