It has been almost 6months of lockdown; we are tired of being at home, we are irritated being left with no work. But somewhere, this lockdown made us work to enhance our hidden skills. Many of us hesitated, many of us were scared at the thought of how that world would react to such talents. Our fears were genuine. There was a time when people actually had asked the purpose of art! We had seen competitions where winners are selected based on much shares or likes they gather. We hesitated, but we spoke out loud, we were determined, we fought that phase, we continued our works until the fingers were pointed at our talent this time. Ironically, people started saying its so easy to create videos because we do not have any other work. The one who made a dance-related page spends hours to create new choreographies, the one with a photography page sits every night to edit a photo at its best. The person who writes, also, needs to conceptualise, compose, make hundreds of drafts and finally post a little work of fiction. But who cares? The people can share a quote on how important it is to support their friends with art pages, youtube channels, etc. but none will come up, relatively unknown people on the internet would appreciate as if they have known us for years. Social media algorithm has been changing, and to keep a page active, it needs regular likes, comments, shares. One comment of yours on your friends channel wouldnt harm your busy day, rather it would enhance the page engagement and re direct new accounts to your friends account. It isnt easy to create art, it takes a lot of time, even months to come up with something creative. Today is a special day for two reasons. . One year ago today, I decided to become a K-POP songwriter and music producer. I guess you could say it was divine intervention that lead me to do something so very random. Something I wouldnt have thought of ever. I immersed myself in it completely, studied every day and even applied and got in with a scholarship to a music class with NYU|Tisch to help me along the way. . I didnt know that one year later Id have the agent I wanted and be doing so great and amazing, and be making songs that artists in Korea and other parts of Asia liked! . In a way though, I knew it would happen, because I believed in myself like I never have before. I was in a place of loving myself so much that any crazy dream I had felt completely attainable and within reach. I want for you reading this to feel this way about yourself, too. . And on that note, I do have announcements coming up, but this is a long process. Ill be sure to let you know here! So stay tuned!! . I am happier than Ive ever been in a long time. As some of you know, I lost my mother 3 years ago. She was my best friend, my biggest fan and my only surviving parent (I dont have siblings). 3 years ago I was in a different mindset. I let myself go, while still being a wonderful single mom to a sweet 5-year old girl. It took 2 years to be in the happiest place Ive ever been. I havent looked back. And so, Im doing what I love for her, for my lil girl, for me, for my future and for a future charity I want to start. . I want people to listen to music that makes them feel as happy as I am. All the while giving back. I know its not a crazy dream. Its now my reality. I couldnt be more grateful. . The other reason why this day is special is that it is the anniversary of my grandfathers death. I was a little girl when he passed, but I have lots of beautiful memories of him. He was a carpenter. And I was his weakness. He spoiled me just enough. He was one of the first men in my life to show me what love is. Ill always love him and share that love. . Thank you for reading.
