Di tanggal 25 ini @afutami berulang tahun. Jadi, posting ini menjadi posting apresiasi yang sudah lama tak kunjung diberitakan kepada orang-orang. Senang sekali bisa mendapatkan kesempatan yang sangat spesial, bisa menemani hampir setiap hari, bercanda, menangis, dan mengetahui lebih dalam daripada orang lain. Andhyta selalu ada dan selalu men-support apapun keputusan gila yang gue selalu ambil. Dia selalu menjadi orang pertama yang percaya gue, namun tetap selalu skeptis dan mempertanyakan apakah itu ide gila yang baik atau ide gila just for the sake of gila. What I really love about Andhyta is her really2 soft heart. Ngga hanya karena dia mudah sekali menangis kalau nonton film yang mengharukan (or tidak mengharukan tapi bagus bgt) tapi juga karena dia peduli dengan orang banyak. Ngga cuman teman terdekatnya tapi juga strangers. Inget banget dulu pernah seharian dia stress dan gabisa menyelesaikan pekerjaannya, karena lupa ngasih bapak GOJEK tip yg sesuai. Sampe seharian cari cara gimana bs hubungin bapaknya, hubungin GOJEK, terus transfer ke bapaknya, SEHARIAN. Gue selesai satu editing, dia masih ngobrol sama CSnya GOJEK. A six-time Olympian and the 1984 bronze medalist in men’s saber – making him the first African American to win an Olympic medal in fencing – Peter Westbrook started fencing after his mother bribed him to try the sport. He went on to win 13 national championships. After growing up in the housing projects of New Jersey, in 1991, Westbrook founded the Peter Westbrook Foundation, bringing fencing to underserved communities in the New York metropolitan area. Helping young fencers reach their potential athletically, academically and personally – teaching them to become Olympians in life – the Saturday Fencing Program is the Foundation’s cornerstone, offering instruction to all skill levels with the staff including Olympians, national champions and national team members. The club also offers an Academic Enrichment Program, which provides tutoring, help with homework and standardized test prep. Everyone is in a different part of their dental journey, and there’s no reason to feel like you’re not “good enough.” We all start somewhere. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣ 𝐷𝑜𝑛’𝑡 𝑏𝑒 𝑎𝑓𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝! Most dental schools (to my knowledge) have some sort of Big-little system set up. ASK them for advice if you need any! They’ve been through everything you’ve been through— so more likely than not, they’ll have some decent advice on how to survive 👍🏼😬⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One last thing: ✨ 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 ✨ dental school is way better when you have a best friend to experience it with. That’s why I had a super simple answer when a coaching client asked me... “What do you do when someone asks you a question that’s outside of your scope of expertise? Especially live, like on a webinar or livestream?” My answer: Let them know that it’s outside of your area of expertise. If you’ve been on any of my live webinars or livestreams, you know this is something I do fairly often. Especially when I get questions about MLM, dropshipping, or physical product businesses. And I do it for a few reasons: ...First and foremost, it’s in integrity. ...Second, it allows me to let people who aren’t a good fit, know it. So they can find someone who IS a better fit to help them. ...And finally, it makes it even more clear to my ideal clients who exactly they are, and that my offer is a perfect fit for THEM. Letting your audience know that you aren’t all-knowing doesn’t make you seem like less of an expert. It actually allows you to come across as MORE of one. Because it’s clear you know what you know, you know what you don’t know, and you’re equally confident about both. So the next time it come up on a livestream, post, or webinar? When I created the name, “Then I Met You,” it was a nod to a turning point in my life, when things changed for the better. For me, I was going 100 miles per hour with work and other obligations, and I let my relationships take a backseat for several years. It dawned on me through conversations with a particular friend, that there is a price to pay for rushing and being busy 24/7, especially if you weren’t investing in creating deep and emotional connections with those people that matter to you. My hope is that through Then I Met You, you’ll be reminded of your own turning point that made you more grounded and happier. Life is full of resets and changes. For me in 2018 this statement rang true: I Used to Rush, Then I Met You. It resonates even more so in 2020, now that I’m expecting a baby in a few months, and want to ensure I don’t rush through the moments but invest in our budding relationship between a mother and daughter. Today started off as a normal Saturday morning. Got up, did my normal routine... grabbed some coffee, took a peek at my Facebook and BOOM! I witnessed some of the most vile ignorance on a simple post of me and my kids (see my last post) the commentary under that post is just insane. Some of the comments I deleted because I wasn’t prepared to risk it all and say what I really wanted to say. I even had one special fella question where my kids dad was, as if that was any of his business or that picture was in any way indicative of any assumptions he had due to my husbands lack of presence because he wasn’t posing and smiling in a picture. FOH. But I did want to take this opportunity to show you guys the foolishness that I received (swipe) and a friendly reminder to people who are ignorant enough to even part their lips to say ANYTHING along the lines of “racism isn’t a thing” or my favorite line 🙄🙄🙄 “We’ve come a long way, are you sure”. I’m gonna keep this short and cute (because I have a WHOLE lot more to say) but I want to make it abundantly clear that while I understand that some of this comes with the territory in the influencer space, I am with the shits when it comes to kids and my family as a whole.
