I’ve gained a lot of things over these past five years. Sure, I’ve gained weight. I’ve also gained a husband. I’ve gained an associates degree, bachelors degree, and finishing up on a masters. I’ve gained hair (lots of it). I’ve gained multiple surgeries (or lost things from that? Like tonsils, cysts, etc. 😅). But more than that, I’ve gained so many incredible, once in a lifetime experiences. I’ve gained an incredible support system and wonderful friends. I’ve gained self confidence and self esteem. It’s been long enough! Since October 15, 2016 to be exact. Lol For anyone who cares to know, I’m still very much alive and doing well. Instagram is a whole different world these days. Tbh things just started to seem so artificial on here so I decided to fall back and focus my time on real life and what’s actually important, just like things kinda use to be before all the social media craze. I’d say that’s about half of the reason and the other half was because I decided to put everything aside and put all my time & energy into school. Fast forward to now, me & my other half recently moved into our first house together and I’ve been so obsessed with home decor and all things interior design. And with all the seasonal decor that’s put out, I literally can’t help myself! With that being said, I decided to FINALLY take the step and create my own YouTube channel. I’ve been wanting to do this for years, since my TV/radio days(for those of you who’ve been around that long). Up until a few months ago I wouldn’t have let hardly anyone see me without make up as I had gotten so many of the comments (seen on the left ) as a teenager whenever I wouldn’t wear it (rare occasion). I was incredibly insecure about my skin, complexion and how pale I looked and having people say these words, even though they may have thought nothing of it has stuck in my head for years and made me very self conscious to even be seen without make up in my own house with family and friends. It then became a catch 22 because whenever I would wear it I would get the comments that are seen on the right hand side of the picture! It’s ironic, right? Even though I was on a show celebrating beauty, I still have my own insecurities. I have learnt that other people’s comments DON’T define you. It was a difficult lesson to learn but it DRAMATICALLY changed my happiness once I learned it. You are beautiful. Whether you wear makeup or not. You are perfect. Whether you wear makeup or not. You are loved. Whether you wear makeup or not. I got this photo idea from @charlottepeirce_ I’ve learned A LOT about confidence and how to not care what people think recently, and it’s made a huge difference to my life! After filming a confidence course with a incredible psychologist for my mental health platform coming soon, I have learned to love my skin, with and without make up, and to embrace the things I was always so self conscious about because that makes me, me!!
