Another feather in the cap to end this years season! 1st place podium finish at sprint triathlon! Official timing 1 hour 10mins. Decided to race a shorter distance after finishing half iron last month! Racing shorter distances doesnt mean they are easy, you have to push you limits beyond your ability to win them! Overall happy with my performance as i managed to reduce 20min from the last sprint distance i raced a year back! The only thing which i keep in mind while racing is competing with yourself not with others! Its all about dedication, consistency and hard work! Now time to sit back and take rest for few days! In honor of Pride month and the Black Lives Matter movement, I would like to recommend a book I think sits perfectly at the intersection of those two worlds. “Mama Black Widow” by Robert Beck, aka Iceberg Slim. Written in 1969, it is the true coming of age story of a black, queer man living in a violent and segregated Chicago. (Though the protagonist clearly lives their adult life as a woman, the book was written and the story takes place before the term transgender and the more fluid application of gender pronouns had become commonplace, so I’m not sure how they would have preferred to be addressed, though they do often refer to themself in the book as a “black queen.”) It is a brutal book filled with ugliness, but it is also an honest book. There was very little else being written about black, queer identity at the time, particularly what we would today refer to as the trans community, yet we know that queer people of color were often at the vanguard of profound social change, particularly during legendary Stonewall Uprising of 1969. The book’s protagonist is not an activist or a part of any such movement. They are simply a person struggling to survive and find a bit of peace in a chaotic world that rejects them. It has mostly fallen through the cracks, especially when compared to the author’s more infamous work, “Pimp” (also brutal, but honest), but I think it deserves another life. It’s not an optimistic book, and while it is important to look towards hope and change on the horizon, it’s equally valuable to immerse oneself in the true and ugly details of the past and present. I’ve included the prologue above. Warning: It includes some very strong pejoratives and dialogue that could be considered a bit dated. #AboutFriday18September2020 💥💥💥🥳🥳🥳🎂🎂🎂💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 Happy birthday to me. Feeling so blessed and loved. Thank you for all the wonderful birthday messages, calls, texts, WhatsApp and voicemails. I woke up on Friday giving thanks for the gift of life and the fact that I was surrounded by my wonderful husband and very loud children. It’s fair to say that this year has been a strange one and if anything most of us would love to rewind to start again. The recent events of this year has made some of us reflect on what we truly value and appreciate and what we sometimes take for granted - a hug, a conversation, a visit from a friend, the ability to go to work and even just to sit in the park. I had grand plans for celebrating my birthday but this had to change with the recent lock down and limit of 6people for gatherings restrictions. Thank you to my family and close friends for making day extra special - I even managed to dance a bit, thanks to the wonderful team at @cottonsldn Vauxhall. 1 year ago I had my final engagement as Miss Native UNLV. My reign went out with a bang when @portugaltheman invited @slayersol.702 and I to deliver a land acknowledgement before their @lifeisbeautiful set. One of my best friends @datewidthenite was wonderful enough to record our small speech. PTM signed a @nasaunlv bandana for us to raffle off. I am so thankful for accomplices like Portugal. The Man for their work in spreading awareness on issues within the Native community and actually doing work to solve those issues. They even helped amplify the work I was doing for the CARES program by using their wide social media reach to get more donors. Hopefully my beading skills get on a level where I can gift them something nice to show my appreciation. 29 августа было для меня важным днем. Я проходила обучение по технике PBT. @progressingballettechnique И это безусловно стоило всех затраченных сил, средств и жизненных перемен. Это уникальная, шикарная для работы, для поддержания здоровья, для реабилитации, для формы и безусловно для выявления своих слабых мест техника!!! Чтобы кто ни думал, это очень сложно и крайне полезно. Теперь я точно могу говорить: проверено на себе. Мне хватает опыта понять даже с одного раза, что это работает и что это необходимо!!! Но!!! Сейчас очень важный момент!!! Сразу оговорюсь, что это мое субъективное мнение!!! Я не считаю возможным сейчас сразу идти набирать группу, даже базового уровня и начинать преподавать!!! Лично для меня это в корне не верно!!! Пока я сама не пройду каждую ступень каждого уровня, пока я не прочувствую все на себе и не достигну достаточного результата, я не позволю себе этого. 📊 O ano de 2020 já pode ser considerado o grande ano do e-commerce brasileiro. Impulsionado pela pandemia, o setor conseguiu agradar novos compradores e as taxas de crescimento não param de subir. De acordo com pesquisa divulgada pela Associação Brasileira de Comércio Eletrônico (ABComm) em parceria com o Movimento Compre&Confie, o faturamento do comércio eletrônico brasileiro alcançou a marca de R$ 41,92 bilhões em agosto. O número se refere ao faturamento somado desde janeiro deste ano. Embora o tíquete médio tenha reduzido de R$ 420,78 para R$ 398,03, o número de transações efetuadas cresceu 65,7%, indo de 63,4 bilhões para 105,6 bilhões nos seis primeiros meses de 2020. Com esse crescimento, a projeção para o ano de 2020 saltou de 18% para 30% no acumulado anual. Segundo os dados da pesquisa, as três categorias que registraram as maiores variações de crescimento foram Beleza e Perfumaria, que apurou alta de 107,4%, com faturamento de R$ 2,11 bilhões no período; Móveis, com alta de 94,4% e faturamento de R$ 2,51 bilhões; e Eletroportáteis, com 85,7% e faturamento de R$ 1,02 bilhão. O desempenho das demais categorias pesquisadas ficou assim: Eletrônicos, alta de 68,4% e faturamento de R$ 3,93 bilhões; Esporte e Lazer, 66,8% e R$ 1,57 bilhão; Telefonia, 52,2% e R$ 7 bilhões; Eletrodomésticos, 51% e R$ 4,21 bilhões; Informática, 46,7% e R$ 4,20 bilhões; Moda e Acessórios, 34,9% e R$ 4,1 bilhões; Ar e Ventilação, 17,2% e R$ 1,22 bilhão. We are proud and honored of representing Indonesia to return again after the last participation in 2010 competing in the most meticulous culinary competition in the world, Bocuse d’Or. Founded by the late and legendary French master chef Paul Bocuse in 1987, this biennial competition takes 24 teams to go through the grand finale which always takes place in Lyon, France.
