Upon hearing the album for the first time, Raverro knew it was an instant masterpiece. The intro alone made him want to be wherever Public Enemy was. From that moment on, if Public Enemy was performing in Denver, Raverro was backstage. Fondly known as “the kid with the camera”, while backstage, Raverro was honored to meet and speak with Chuck D and Professor Griff, stand alongside the S1-W’s, and even watch Flava Flav do his infamous dance in person. These are experiences he will never forget. Even after listening to Chuck D’s lyrics on repeat, and loving everything he heard, Raverro admits that it was a conversation with Professor Griff that made him want to be just like an S1-W. For Raverro to fully enumerate the impact that Public Enemy has had on his life and artistic influence, he’d have to write a book, undoubtedly entailing a relentless effort to figure out the Bomb Squad’s incredible beats and Terminator X scratches. “Malcolm X” Marker on paper 25.5 x 33 Inches & Beyoncé: “Prayer of The Queen” Charcoal on paper 23.5 x 31 Inches Stinnett himself was actually the victim of a brutal and racially-motivated assault while waiting for public transportation in downtown Denver two years ago. Como sabem, grande parte da indumentária masculina, provém diretamente das fardas militares, pensadas ao pormenor para os mais diversos climas e situações que um soldado possa ter pelo caminho na defesa da sua pátria. Hoje em dia usamos diversas peças sem saber a sua origem e como tal deixo-vos aqui a história do blusão de camurça. O blusão A1, foi criado em 1927 pela força aérea dos EUA e rapidamente substituído pelo blusão A2 (qualquer dia também falamos sobre ele) que teve um sucesso enorme deixando o nosso A1 de parte. Originalmente este casaco não era de camurça, esta foi uma invenção da marca Valstar de Milão, que chamou ao seu modelo Valstarino e adaptou este casaco ao homem casual, com um toque de alfaiataria, para que o casaco ficasse mais leve a ajustado ao seu estilo, ao contrário da “Capeskin” que era utilizada no casaco militar original. O A1 é um casaco simples, abotoado na frente, com dois bolsos frontais também eles abotoados e que escondem um bolso lateral ótimo para aconchegar as nossas mãos. A sua gola, punhos e cintura são elásticos, a combinação perfeita entre o militar e o clássico que pode ser usado com uma camisa denim ou oxford, de gravata tricotada e com uma echarpe para nos proteger do frio. É para todas as idades, um blusão casual, que nos dá um ar clássico, cuidado e sem dúvida muito estilo! Saddened to hear of the passing of Philippe Daverio. I had the great pleasure of photographing him for #WeAreDandy book with @nattyadams in 2016. Accompanied by @kellfire, we visited him at his cavernous home in Milan, filled with books, art, papers, Egyptian rolling papers, and inspiration everywhere. The lead image is how I recall my first glimpses of him, but it’s a bit of a lie: I didn’t feel right about pulling out my camera at his front door before I had properly met him, so when we were saying our goodbyes I coaxed him for a few last frames. To me it has the same energy—his mischievous bright smile. ✨ Philippe Daverio was a well known Italian art critic, historian, TV personality, and—of course—great dandy. Scarves are a great accessory to have as the weather gets cooler. Not only are they a stylish addition to any mans outfit, but they also provide warmth in cold temperatures. Here is a more detailed history of the scarve. While many credit its history to use by the Terracotta soldiers in China, the scarf dates all the way back to ancient Rome where it was originally called a Sudarium, literally translated to mean “sweat cloth”. It was used in Rome for cleanliness, and the cloth scarf was often worn tied to the waist of the man, or loosely wrapped around the neck on warmer days. In the event of a formal affair, the scarf was almost always worn, and various grades of cloth could easily separate the affluent and wealthy members of society from the rest. The scarf was now seen on a daily basis as men would continually wear them out, both for cleanliness, but now, due to the separation of class, as a way to showcase their status or elitism in society. By the third century BC, the appeal and popularity of the Roman introduced scarf had made its way to China and was now being worn by the Terracotta soldiers of the Qin Shi Huang dynasty as a form of military garb in used as a way to discern the soldiers rank, based on the style or fashion of the scarf. By the end of the nineteenth century, scarves had gone from a regular accessory worn by men and women to one of the most essential forms of neckwear worn on a daily basis by men of all classes. Since then, scarves have been a globally popular fashion accessory for men and today still provide the warmth, religious and protective qualities of a bygone era. - @gentlemansgazette on Instagram

I’ve been speaking to my students about this a lot recently: according to Ayurveda, this time of year is Vata season. Vata is the ‘air’ principle of nature associated with movement, lightness, quickness, coldness and dryness. Think windy, chilly Autumn days. Vata is also that aspect of our nature that is most easy to get out of balance. When Vata is balanced you will feel light, joyful, flexible and creative. When Vata is off, you’ll be feeling cold, anxious, on edge and maybe not sleeping so well. There’ll be a sense of feeling ungrounded. So, we need to take extra care at this time of year to balance this, with lots of soothing, sweet, warm stuff. Think hats, scarves, warm drinks and easy to digest, cooked food, and favouring routines and rest. You’ll feel calmer and more relaxed. Alors que Jean-Louis, accompagné de son client, rentrait de la pyramide du Tacul par la trace principale de la traversée de la Vallée Blanche en direction d’Helbronner, la cordée a subi l’effondrement d’un pont de neige d’une ampleur exceptionnelle. Son client a retenu la chute et donné l’alerte, mais Jean-Louis profondément enseveli n’a pu être sauvé malgré l’intervention rapide et les gros moyens engagés par le PGHM . Jeune aspirant guide, Jean-Louis s’était impliqué dans la création du bureau des guides de Servoz. Membre de la Cie depuis 1989, il exerçait le métier de guide avec passion et discrétion fidélisant une grande clientèle. Sa polyvalence, sa pédagogie, son intérêt pour la prévention et l’évolution des techniques de sécurité l’ont naturellement amené ces dix dernières années à rejoindre l’équipe de guides formateurs de la Chamoniarde. This post is for you friends who dont live in Brazil! I will tell you 10 facts about Christmas in Brazil. Ready? ✨🇧🇷 . . . 1 - Christmas in Portuguese is called NATAL! Santa Claus is called Papai Noel! And no, we dont speak Spanish in Brazil! Hahaha ✨🎄 . . . 2 - It doesnt snow at Christmas in Brazil, as we are a tropical country and in the December season we are not in winter but in summer. Our Santa is always on the beach! 🎅🌴 . . . 3 - Christmas decorations usually start at the end of October, because in Brazil we dont have the habit of celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving, although some families do. 🎄 . . . 4 - Our Christmas food is not gingerbread and hot chocolate, but panettone, we are obsessed with panettone, panettone is a mixture of cake and bread with fruit or chocolate, it is very traditional at the time to eat it practically every day! It has several flavors and comes decorated for Christmas! 🍞 . . . 5 - Christmas movies are also shown on TV! I love watching! 📺 . . . 6 - Here we celebrate Christmas practically the day before, on the 24th we gather at night, have supper and when it is midnight and then it becomes the 25th, we hug, eat supper and exchange gifts! Some families make secret santa! This can be shocking to you! But we did not wait for the morning of the 25th to open the presents!
