BACK IN THE GAME ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The all BOS Factory crew was really happy to be back on track for the 13th round of the world championship, in Loket, Czech Republic. Anthony Rodriguez is a traveler for sure. Away from his Venezuelian home very early, he did compete in the US with significant results. Then he came twice in Europe showing impressive speed in MX2, but sadly, the age limit forced him to go back in the USA… Olivier BOSSARD : « Anthony was a real fighter last year, showing good heart at every motos. It was for me the perfect rider to replace Bobryshev. The trip wasn’t easy to organize of course between licences, assurances, appartements, logistic, testing, but we made it. We clearly have no willing for Anthony’s results. We just want him to have fun. That’s our number one priority » Coming into Loket, the goal was to score a few points only, and start from there. P27 in Free Practice and P29 in Time Practice was not what expected Anthony for sure… But there is no surprise. No racing since a long time, a lot of training in the sand for the coming rounds, the first REAL bumpy track, and of course this slippery-rocky soil was a nightmare to have Anthony comfortable on the bike. But we worked all together, we changed settings, we transformed the bike in a short amount of time to have him feeling good. After a very good start from the 29th gate, Anthony was charging hard at P13 ! He battled for Top 15 during 8 good laps before loosing a few spots at the end for an important P20. Anthony Rodriguez: « Yes that was better for sure. I had a good flow until I made a mistake on lap 8, and then I lost momentum. I need more time on the bike to adjust, to get better physically and mentally but it’s a good beginning to start from. Can’t wait for tomorrow… » That was a short night for mechanics, cause the speed of Top 15 is different, so datas showed us some interesting things that we can work on. Recentemente completei 25 anos de surfe. Intensamente vividos e devidamente celebrados. 🌊 E ao surfe, tenho muito o que agradecer. Ele me apresentou o mundo e me colocou em lugares e situações que eu pensava só existirem na imaginação. Me ensinou a cair, a levantar e insistir. Ensinou a ter paciência e (um pouco menos) de frescura com as coisas. Me encaminhou para uma carreira, ao mesmo tempo que trouxe uma boa dose de irresponsabilidade. Me ensinou a acreditar no impossível e apostar no improvável. Ensinou também a não levar a vida tão a sério. E a dar importância às coisas simples. Mas acima de tudo, o maior presente que o surfe me deu foi a centena de amigos-irmãos-sócios-ídolos-bróders para a vida toda. ° Just Fight ° ° ° ° The pressure and expectation we put on ourselves, really are the things that play the biggest role in how we perform on fight day. With multiple opponent changes and constantly replaying how I thought my new opponent would move or attack, I was repeatedly second guessing my skill set.
