This morning before you were able to make your cup of coffee, Glendora Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed, leading officers in a pursuit that ended in the the City of Azusa. The driver stopped the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly after. While he was being taken into custody, officers found a fully loaded, sawed off shotgun concealed underneath his clothing. Justin Black, M/36, from Azusa, was arrested for multiple charges, including: felony evading, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short barrel shotgun, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, obstructing an officer, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. While many of us are staying home during this pandemic, some people aren’t. This is an excellent example of some of the proactive work our police officers are continuing to do every day to help keep our citizens safe.
