O vidro translucido da janela ecoa no imaginário como o vidro do escafandro que permite visualizar o mundo exterior. Assim, pôr analogia, o espaço privado como o involucro do escafandro, onde estamos protegidos, e a janela como a circunferência de vidro que permite enxergar a área inacessível da realidade. Não por acaso, a metáfora visual do vídeo surge no momento de pandemia, como um registro imagético da percepção da cidade e do espaço público. Mindy Solomon Gallery and Curator Ché Morales are pleased to present a new digital experience designed by Hanna Ali on the occasion of Genevieve Cohn’s first solo exhibition, Beauty of the Burden. As social practices continue to be restricted due to COVID-19, Morales and Solomon were met with the dilemma of activating the digital frontier. With the influx of online shows that seemed to include everything but creativity regarding atmosphere and space, Morales asked ‘why recreate a gallery online, when you can recreate the world instead?’ The resulting concept was to fully harness the limitless potential of virtual reality, and literally create a parallel world, echoing Cohn’s painting practice which has long been concerned with world building. Solomon approved the digital build out, and Morales recruited Hanna Ali to design the intricate companion piece that ultimately presents a translation of Cohn’s paintings as an experience, rather than a literal exhibition space. While the corporeal world battles with new limitations and the nuances of social fabric, Cohn’s Beauty of the Burden world sets the viewer free into a space that revitalizes the psychological context of objects and society — making the paintings at once new and familiar. The universe within, defies expectations of physics and social normalities, and writes a new history (or future) of the women in Cohn’s paintings. Enter the dilapidated atrium standing on a lone island bathed in rosey light — a world saturated in a rich palette of jewel tones. Paintings, books and plantlife populate the matrix of shelves and architectural beams in Cohn’s library of babel, which gives way to an underground chamber or perhaps, a bower. Throughout the crumbling structure, the painted women continue to build, collect and adorn their surroundings, harkening to the practice of the bowerbirds — no trace of life, aside from Ally Young’s poems and recordings that live within each piece that has oddly survived the deconstruction of this parallel world. As of yesterday morning my ASE wall was finally hung! I wish I had details of my lithographs to share, but for now here are details of one of my drawings. Come see the product of my final year at PAFA in person starting this Saturday, 9/12, until 10/3, in the Hamilton Galleries at PAFA (new building, Broad St entrance). . Finishing this work has been unbelievably challenging both physically, and mentally. Finally seeing the work on a wall instead of my bedroom floor made the project feel complete, and the vision feel fulfilled. I am so blessed to be able to share this work with all of you. I am immensely proud of this work, and grateful to God for providing time, strength, and resources, and for connecting me with the right people to bring it to life. Oggi, per la mostra “Out of the Blue, Viaggio nella Calligrafia attraverso Alcantara” vi raccontiamo due degli artisti che presentano le loro opere a Palazzo Reale. La prima è l’opera di Qu Lei Lei. Riempiendo la sala con un insieme di dinamici testi, l’artista cattura e re-interpreta estratti di fake news attuali attraverso tecniche calligrafiche cinesi, generando linee visibili o sfuocate che interagiscono con le proprietà di Alcantara. Antiche eredità culturali e forme originarie emergono e si confrontano così a nuovi linguaggi espressivi. L’artista Qin Feng invece (nella seconda immagine), non lavora su tracce a cui poi si darà la compiutezza di una forma, ma sulle immediate forme dell’idea stessa. Nessuna distanza tra il pensiero e il gesto primigenio. La spontaneità del movimento calligrafico sprigiona un’energia primordiale, esprimendosi nel principio filosofico Taoista del Wu Wei 无为 “agire nel non agire”. [ARARIO MUSEUM 서울] 두루마리처럼 가로로 길게 펼쳐진 화면 위로 삶의 조각들이 끊임없이 이어집니다. 그런데 전시장 속의 나는 눈 앞의 그림 한 점을 한 눈에 볼 수가 없습니다. 걷다가 잠시 멈추는 순간의 장면들만 볼 수 있을 따름이죠. 계단을 내려가거나 코너를 돌면 비로소 나타나는 숨겨진 회화들은 생경한 존재처럼 느껴집니다. 마치 두루마리 그림 끝에 말려서 영원히 드러나지 않는 장면들처럼 가려지고 은폐된 존재들은 우리 삶 곳곳에 도사리고 있습니다. 우리가 보는 것은 어디까지가 진실일까요? 작가 이진주는 이 개념을 사각死角으로 정의하고, 이번 전시에서 그 존재를 시각적인 구조로 구현했습니다. 전시장을 아우르는 거대한 A 자 구조의 회화를 감상하며 삶의 곳곳에서 설명할 수 없는 방식으로 존재하는 진실의 구조에 대해 생각해볼 수 있는 기회가 되기를 바랍니다. _ #이진주개인전 #JinjuLee #사각 #Unperceived #아라리오뮤지엄인스페이스 #Arariomuseuminspace - @arariomuseum on Instagram

レストラン「FORNI」（フォルニ）の京焼・清水焼の壁 京都東山泉涌寺で大正11年からつづく窯元により焼き上げられた京焼・清水焼の豆皿を集積させ、桜が映り込む水景を表現したアートをお楽しみいただけます。 A striking wall created from Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki ceramics at FORNI These small mame-sara plates were fired in a kiln located at Sennyū-ji, a temple in the Higashiyama District of Kyoto, which has been producing Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki ceramics since 1922. Der Bundestag hat ein Verbot für #Einwegplastik ab 2021 beschlossen. Dabei geht es um Wegwerfartikel, die man sehr einfach durch umweltfreundlichere #Alternativen ersetzen kann. Dazu gehören zum Beispiel Besteck, Teller, Trinkhalme und Wattestäbchen. Auch Becher und Essensverpackungen aus Styropor soll es dann nicht mehr geben. Dadurch soll weniger Plastikmüll das #Meer und die Strände verschmutzen. Die #EU hatte das Verbot schon 2019 beschlossen. Damit es auch in Deutschland konkret umgesetzt wird, muss jetzt noch der Bundesrat zustimmen.
