Y A L L. I h o n e s t l y don’t feel like I have the words to adequately express the amount of genuine joy in my life right now. WHO YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH M A T T E R S 👏🏼 @rayhicks__ and @jamesdutton_ have both said something at our church gatherings that is so true... here in Nashville you can find people to cheer you on no matter what you’re doing. You can find people to party with and who bring out the worldly things in you; or you can find people who bring you closer to who God has called you to be. I moved to downtown Nashville (only 25 minutes further south than the place I was born and have lived my entire life) and it has completely changed my life. God has brought so many new people into my life and I’m truly overwhelmed with the level of blessed I feel. I was never the girl who had a lot of friends in school or even as a young adult. I’ve always felt it was hard for me to really connect and vibe with most people, so forming so many truly genuine relationships in the course of the past 3 weeks has been something I’ve never experienced and it’s honestly so overwhelming, in the best way. I’m about as stable as an Ikea table these days. I’ve laughed, worshipped, hugged, and cried (happy tears) more this past month than I have ever before. Life is filled with hills and valleys and, although this is definitely a high for me right now, the joy I get from these God given friendships is something I know I will have forever. Unlike money, careers, vacations, cars, hook ups, social status, alcohol, etc., God and the people He puts in your life are sacred and deserve to be treated as such. Time is so valuable, so to those of you who choose to spend your time with me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all have changed my life and mean the world to me. In college I had a period where I attached my self worth to my ability to avoid eating. I would scroll Tumblr for quotes that made this easier. There was actually certain phrases or words that triggered the website to prompt “is everything ok?” . One quote I can still remember clearly attaching myself to was, “next time you want to eat, do it naked in front of your mirror” and of course, the notorious “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”. Well, I’ll tell you what that “skinny” felt like. There were weeks I allowed myself only one Special K cereal bar over the span of 7 days. I’d walk on the treadmill and come home before 8pm and climb into the bed because my muscles ached and screamed out for fuel. My stomach muscles contracted and cried out for calories. It’s hard to sleep with anxiety, but friends, anxiety pales in comparison to hunger pangs. . Me and food, we’re thick as thieves now. We have a better relationship than I have with most human beings in my life, and this is a massive privilege I don’t take for granted a single day. I’ll eat dinner for breakfast, I’ll eat ice cream in the winter, I’ll throw some chocolate chips in my fruit smoothie if I want a little razzle dazzle that morning. There is a great loss that accompanies avoiding food. You lose energy, you lose personality, you lose relationships, you lose memories you were supposed to be making - all because you can’t fathom lifting your body out of bed. . I have nothing but love and hope for those still battling disordered eating. Food is fantastic. I don’t love my body every single day (who can really say they do?) but to altogether avoid the consumption of calories is no longer ever my mindset. Although that did make me ecstatic. It’s because she took time away from the stage, and let herself get uncomfortable. She was determined to grow and improve despite that inner nag all of us bodybuilders go through to be “lean.” For a lot of us getting lean is the easier part. Both seasons can be tough for a variety of reasons but when you are lean let’s be honest you get a crap ton of external validation. It’s the growing season that is tough because all of your hard work is under wraps. Luckily I’m surrounded by strong women who know that time away from the stage is necessary and so is food! Happy World Diabetes Day! So I’m gonna take this time to explain what type one diabetes is. Many people often confuse t1d and t2d. Type 1 diabetes, once known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes, is an autoimmune in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Insulin is a hormone needed to allow sugar (glucose) to enter cells to produce energy. Different factors, including genetics and some viruses, may contribute to type 1 diabetes. Although type 1 diabetes usually appears during childhood or adolescence, it can develop in adults. Although this is the true definition of t1d, it is so much more. The sleepless nights, stressful days, constantly looking at my blood sugar, and always being sick. For the longest time I have blamed myself or my loved ones. I was so frustrated after staying in the hospital for a week, losing 10-15 pounds and trying to gain it back. I hated diabetes for so long, until I realized my diabetes is a part of me. All I was doing was hating myself. I was not working with my diabetes. I was working against it. @maddiemaloneyy is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met, she has not only taught me to love myself despite diabetes but love myself with diabetes. 🌊 Сегодня посетили @therma_park_kst 🙃 Конечно изголодавшимся по посещениям бассейнов/аквапарков и тд нам было поначалу очень интересно. ➕ Плюсы: ✅ Большое количество разнообразных саун (мне очень понравилась соляная и скифская) ✅ Бассейны не глубокие и чистые (температура воды отличная) ✅ Джакузи с горячей водой😍 ✅ Полы везде с подогревом ✅ Просторные раздевалки, а также само помещение ➖ Минусы: ✅ Нет развлечения для детей кроме бассейна ✅ Не работала крыша - именно туда мы и хотели попасть ✅ С едой там вообще напряг - уехали голодными 🌊 В принципе остались довольны, но скажу сразу - нам хватило 2х часов чтобы устать😁 Старший так через 40 минут домой начал проситься 😁 Малого я не могла из воды вытащить 🙃 Есть недоработки, но в целом ставлю твёрдую 5 #выходной #термапарккостанай #костанай #костанайплаза #вода #бассейн #развлечениякостанай - @yuliya.zumba.kst on Instagram
