The body of the 19-year-old Dalit woman, who was raped and tortured by four men two weeks ago, was cremated around 3 am on Wednesday in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Her family, however, has said they were not allowed to take her body home and were forced to perform the last rites. “It appears that my sister has been cremated; the police are not telling us anything,” the woman’s brother told @indianexpress at 3.30 am. “We begged them to let us bring her body inside the house one last time, but they didn’t listen to us.” Four men had raped the woman in Hathras a fortnight ago, causing severe injuries, including multiple fractures. She died on Tuesday morning. The four men have been arrested. The woman’s family had said on Tuesday evening that they were being forced to return to Hathras as the authorities were trying to dispose of her body discreetly. The family, along with activists, were protesting outside the Safdarjung Hospital, demanding to know the location of the body. The woman’s father and brother were reportedly taken away by the police and the rest of her family was allegedly locked up inside the house. He said that Lord Brahm is the ācārya in the Brahma-sampradāya, but yet he is sometimes afflicted by passion. So therefore he is saying that it appears that the ācārya does not have to be a pure devotee. So it does not seem right. Prabhupāda: So who is that rascal? I want to know who has said. Akṣayānanda: Nitāi. Nitāi dāsa. Harikeśa: Nitāi said that? Prabhupāda: Who is Nitāi dāsa? Harikeśa: Our Nitāi. Akṣayānanda: Nitāi. Prabhupāda: Oh, our Nitāi? Oh. Akṣayānanda: He said he couldnt understand it, but he thought, he said that he thought... Prabhupāda: He manufactured his idea. Therefore hes a rascal. Therefore hes a rascal. These things are to be seen in this way, that Such exalted person, he sometimes become passionate, so how much we shall be careful. This is the instruction. Then we petty things, petty persons, how much we shall be careful. It is not that Ācārya has become passionate, therefore I shall become passionate. I am strict followers of ācārya. He has sung over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. When asked how did he manage to keep nuances and poetry intact while singing in different languages, the National Award winning singer had said, Composer M.S. Viswanathan first turned me down because my Tamil pronunciation was bad! But, practice worked magic. All languages are beautiful — their sounds are musical. Understanding the lyrics is vital to singing well. That way, you keep the faith of the person who gave you the song, and the faith of the listener. SPB, a household name in Southern India, ruled the charts with his Hindi songs too. It all started with ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye. Laxmikant-Pyarelal were a little hesitant to take me on board, but later declared I was the only playback singer around! Pancham, Naushad ji… all of them are responsible for my success. So are my co-singers. Asha ji was such a dear. I still remember recording for ‘Teri Payal Mere Geet. After I sang, Naushad ji was silent before saying the take was perfect — those were the longest 30 seconds of my life, he had said to The Hindu in an interview in 2011. The legendary playback singer passed away at a private hospital at 1.04 p.m. in Chennai on Friday. He was hospitalised in August after testing positive for COVID-19. He was 74. 📷 M. 11th September 1893: Swami Vivekananda Delivers his First Speech in the Parliament of the Worlds Religions in Chicago On 11th September 1893 Swami Vivekananda, a famous Hindu monk delivered his first speech in the Parliament of the Worlds Religions in Chicago. Swami Vivekananda was a wandering Hindu monk who was the most prominent disciple of Ramakrishna, a well known 19th century saint. Vivekananda is remembered as one of the key people who introduced Indian philosophies such as Vedanta and Yoga to the West. He is also responsible for awakening Hinduism in India, while also assisting the idea of Nationalism in British India. Swami Vivekananda has also established the Ramakrishna Mission and the Ramakrishna Math. Born Narendra Nath Datta on 12th January 1863, to an influential family in Kolkata, from a young age Vivekananda displayed an inclination towards spirituality. One of the major influences on his life was his guru Ramakrishna who taught him that all living beings are manifestations of the Divine and hence service to mankind is ultimately service to God. Following the death of his Guru Ramakrishna, Vivekananda began a tour of India and eventually studied the conditions prevalent in Colonial India. Later, Vivekananda travelled around the world to the United States, England and other parts of Europe and delivered lectures, both public and private, sharing the basic principles of Hinduism with the West. One of Vivekananda’s most memorable speeches was at the Parliament of the World Religions in Chicago in 1893 where he introduced India and Hinduism to the West. Even though Swami Vivekananda was initially nervous of addressing the large international gathering of seven thousand people, he bowed to Saraswati and began his speech by addressing all the gathered as “Sisters and brothers of America”. Upon uttering these words, Vivekananda received a two minute standing ovation from the crowd. He began his speech by greeting the youngest nation on behalf of “the most ancient order of monks in the world, the Vedic order of sannyasins, a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. Millions Of Emotions One Voice SPB Sir! #ripspb 💔 🌹எஸ்பி பாலசுப்பிரமணியத்தின் குரலுக்கு மயங்காத மனிதர்களே கிடையாது என சொல்லலாம்.. அந்தளவுக்கு அற்புதமான குரல் வளத்தை கொண்டவர். 🌹ஸ்ரீபதி பண்டிதாரத்யுல பாலசுப்ரமணியமான இவர் சுறுக்கமாக எஸ்பி பாலசுப்ரிமணியம் என்றும், எஸ்பிபி, என்றும் பாலு என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். இவர் 1946 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 4 ஆம் தேதி எஸ் பி சம்பமூர்த்தி மற்றும் சகுந்தலம்மா தம்பதியருக்கு மகனாக பிறந்தார். 🌹சிறுவயதிலேயே இசை ஆர்வம் அதிகம் கொண்டவர் எஸ்பி பாலசுப்ரமணியம். காரணம் அவரின் தந்தை ஒரு ஹரிகதா கலைஞர் என்பதால் அப்போதே இசைக்கருவிகளை வாசிக்க கற்றுக்கொண்டார் எஸ்பி பாலசுப்ரமணியம். 🌹மகனை எப்படியாவது பொறியாளர் ஆக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தோடு அனந்த்பூர் ஜே.என்.டி.யு பொறியியல் கல்லூரியில் சேர்த்துவிட்டார் அவரது அப்பா. ஆனால் டைப்பாய்டு காய்ச்சலால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட எஸ்பி பாலசுப்பிரமணியம் பொறியியல் படிப்பை பாதியில் நிறுத்திவிட்டு சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒரு கல்லூரியில் சேர்ந்து படித்தார் 🌹இசையில் பேரார்வம் கொண்ட எஸ்பிபி பாடகராக வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையில் இருந்தார். ஆனால் அப்பாவுக்கோ மகனை இன்ஜினியராக பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசை. கல்லூரி நாட்களிலேயே பல பாட்டுப் போட்டிகளிலும் இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பங்கேற்று வந்தார் எஸ்பிபி. 🌹ஆரம்பத்தில் மெல்லிசைக் குழு ஒன்றை நடத்தி வந்த எஸ்பிபி அப்போதே பல இசையமைப்பாளர்களிடம் வாய்ப்பு கேட்டு வந்தார். எஸ்பி பாலசுப்ரமணியம் முதல் பாடலாக தெலுங்கு திரைப்படமான ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மரியாத ரமணா படத்தில் பாடினார். தமிழில் எம்எஸ்விதான் எஸ்பிபியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். 🌹சாந்தி நிலையம் படத்தில் இயற்கை எனும் இளைய கன்னி என்ற பாடலை பாடி தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு அறிமுகமனார். அன்று முதல் இன்று வரை தமிழ், தெலுங்கு, மலையாளம், இந்தி உட்பட 16க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மொழிகளில் சுமார் 40 ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பாடல்களை பாடியுள்ளார். 🌹6 முறை சிறந்த பின்னணி பாடகருக்கான தேசிய விருதை பெற்றுள்ளார். அதோடு ஏராளமான பிலிம் ஃபேர் விருதுகளையும் பல்வேறு மாநில அரசுகளின் விருதுகளையும் பெற்றுள்ளார் எஸ் பி பாலசுப்பிரமணியன். பல வெளிநாட்டு விருதுகளையும் குவித்துள்ளார் அதுமட்டுமின்றி நாட்டின் மிக உயரிய விருதுகளான மத்திய அரசின் பத்மஸ்ரீ, பம்பூஷன் ஆகிய விருதுகளையும் பெற்றுள்ளார். #ripspbalasubramaniyam #spbalasubramaniam #spb #tamil #tamilmusic #prideofindiancinema #tamilsongs#tamillyrics #kollywood #ilayaraja #southcinema #indiancinema #worldcinema - @maniratnam_cinema on Instagram
