This World Humanitarian Day, we take a moment to appreciate and pay special tribute to the effort that real life heroes have been making to help others in the most extreme circumstances throughout the world. The ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been globally widespread, and felt at a grassroots level within our REDD+ project communities. At the frontline response in the Kasigau Corridor, Wildlife Works has been working closely with the Taita Taveta County Resource Mobilization Committee and the community to combat COVID-19. Assistance has included distributing face masks, handwashing stations and soap, as well as donating food to those in need. We would like to especially thank health care workers and all the many others continuing to work tirelessly to provide essential services amidst these incredibly challenging times– you are the very embodiment of hope, courage and inspiration.
