Ils avaient beaucoup moins de biens materiels qu’en occident mais ils avaient quelque chose que je n’avais pas vu depuis longtemps : de la Bonté. Soudainement, je n’ai pas pu retenir mes larmes - ému de voir tant de respect alors qu’en France des gens avaient tenté de me dissuader de partir car ce pays était considéré comme “dangereux”. Je réalisais que tous les stéréotypes que véhiculent les médias, les politiques et notre education comme quoi l’Afrique est une terre de pauvreté, de sécheresse, de famine et de guerre étaient seulement là pour nous maintenir dans la peur et l’ignorance et favoriser le racisme que nous essayons de combattre encore aujourd’hui. Introducing our fourth partner - Sera Wildlife Conservancy Sera is a 39,615ha community owned and run conservancy in northern Kenya. In 2015, ten black rhinos were relocated to a 10700 hectare enclosure in Sera. This was with the hope of reintroducing rhinos back into the area and securing more habitat for Kenya’s expanding rhino population. From this Sera became the first community owned rhino conservancy in East Africa. Since then the team at Sera have done a great job and have seen the Sera rhino population increasing steadily with 7 healthy calf births in the enclosure. 
We are pleased to have partnered with Sera Wildlife Conservancy and as part of our Patrons of Conservation membership you can learn and support Sera and the team of rangers who have dedicated their lives to ensuring the reintroduction of rhinos into this area is a success.

On this particular morning we spotted these 13 Wild Dog puppies who were left alone. We passed 2 hyenas going towards the puppies about 300 metres earlier. Parents arrived in the nick of time and chased approaching hyenas who were now very close. There was relief all round. This last week has been an experience I will never forget 😍 I now know why Malawi is called the heart of Africa ❤️ . I’ve never smiled so much but at the same time been at a loss for parents & children who have so little (despite their generosity & big smiles). These feeding programmes make such a huge difference in these children’s lives, for most of the children it can be their only meal of the day. Through @onefeedstwo and @mindfulchefuk the meals we donate really do help these families every single day. . From being a human climbing frame to sharing porridge with Stellia (who’s the same age as Sienna) I have memories that will last a lifetime. We may be on the other side of the 🌍but we’ve seen in person the positive impact we can have. . “En la vida, tenemos momentos muy positivos y otros no tanto, como los que vivimos actualmente, y es ahí que, algunas palabras de aliento nos pueden ayudar mucho. Cuando niño mis padres, cada uno a su manera, tenían la capacidad de alentarme a siempre dar lo mejor de mí, pero era mi papá quien tenía esta peculiar forma “Racing” de dar palabras de aliento. Frases como “siempre a fondo, si sueltas te ganan” o “esto es como un Caminos del Inca, aun te quedan más etapas para recuperarte”. En ese momento no entendía del todo las analogías, pero cuando fui crecciendo las entendí por completo. A que voy con esto: aprendí que la vida tiene mucho que ver con alguna pasión, deporte, o arte que practiques; en mi caso es el off road, deporte que, además de amar, me ha enseñado mucho para aplicar en la vida. Por regla general, debemos ayudar a quien lo necesite en el desierto, conocido o no, si necesita ayuda, se le ayuda, “entramos todos, salimos todos” es nuestra filosofía, trabajar en equipo, ser solidario, son los principales valores que tenemos. Me pregunto, ¿es tan difícil ser así en la vida? Si se dan cuenta, en este momento, el país necesita que todos nos ayudemos, como en el off road, si todos estamos bien, avanzamos, si uno está mal, paramos y lo ayudamos, pero jamás solos. ¡Vamos Perú!!! Hoy necesitamos de todos, son 15 días, lo que dura un Dakar, la mitad de un mundial de futbol, la mitad de tus vacaciones anuales. Entendamos que, para salir de esto tenemos que estar bien todos, entendamos que tenemos que estar “a fondo, si soltamos perdemos la carrera” y que también “esto es como un caminos del inca, aún quedan etapas para recuperarnos”, seamos ese equipo que lleva a su carro hasta acabar un Dakar, seamos ese grupo de amigos que entran al desierto un fin de semana siendo 10 y salen los 10, así el fin de semana les tome 5 días. Paralicemos el país como ese 15 de septiembre del 2017 cuando jugamos contra Nueva Zelanda, seamos ese Perú que todos queremos y no del que siempre nos quejamos. Egidsa recupera vías de Cerro de Piedra La empresa de Gestión Integral de Desechos Sólidos del estado Anzoátegui (Egidsa) inició un plan de recuperación de la vialidad de las terrazas del vertedero de basura de Cerro de Piedra, pues debido a la fuertes lluvias en el sector se imposibilita el tránsito de los camiones recolectores de basura. El director de operaciones de dicho ente, Ricardo Pérez, indicó que la rehabilitación se está haciendo siguiendo los lineamiento del gobernador @BarretoSira , “es importante que los camiones puedan hacer la disposición final de los desechos en todo momento y que las condiciones climáticas no nos afecten. Para llevar a cabo los trabajos, que se hacen en conjunto con Covinea, cuentan con un tractor tipo D8, un jumbo, una retroexcavadora y dos camiones. Pérez agregó que durante la cuarentena se ha incremento la disposición final de desperdicios hospitalarios. “Adicionalmente, durante la semana de confinamiento radical, la mayor parte de los ciudadanos se quedan encerrados en sus casa por lo que generan más basura, debido a esto es importante que la vialidad esté en óptimas condiciones para que los camiones descarguen diariamente. The World Health Organization (WHO) admits that oral polio vaccines are giving African children polio but hasnt said a word about the annually reported tens of thousands of cases of acute flaccid paralysis (AFP), a debilitating condition with a clinical picture virtually identical to polio.  In the U.S., childhood paralysis may not be documented on the same scale as in Africa or India, but it has attracted notice. In countries that use the oral polio vaccine, the CDC has no problem acknowledging that AFP is associated with vaccine-derived poliovirus. In the U.S., however, the use of another type of polio vaccine has allowed officials to frame the story very differently. The CDC has assiduously avoided mentioning one iatrogenic (medically induced) cause that is staring the agency in the face: 70 years of published studies along with manufacturers’ package inserts documenting a trail of polio-like symptoms (ranging from myelitis, numbness, pain and limb paralysis) following vaccination. The Gangalidda and Garawa Rangers recently completed their Certificate 3 in ACDC Chemical Training with INLOC trainer and assessor Paul Boags. Due to COVID 19 travel restrictions the training was delivered via teleconference and video presentations with on-ground support provided by experienced CLCAC Project Officer Kevin Anderson, WHS Officer/Ranger Lurick Sowden, Head Ranger Murrandoo Yanner Jnr and Ranger Coordinator Desmond Armstrong. This training required a considerable amount of pre-planning to ensure effective delivery along with numerous photographs of the Rangers and assessment forms to provide the evidence required for competency and proof of on-ground experience. CLCAC would like to congratulate Rangers Zac Sowden, Mathew Ned, Benjamin Kumsing, Michael Watson, Milmarja Yanner and Maali Yanner in completing this training. The Rangers are now using their new skills and qualifications when undertaking weed management activities which helps to help bring the environment back to its natural state. I watched today as the team consisting of rangers, and veterinarians, battled for four hours in the most appalling weather, to save the life of a female giraffe. We responded to a call from the community that a giraffe was having difficulties birthing. The giraffe would need to be tranquillised; this is an extremely particular process due to its physiology. Basically the length of its neck means that it can extremely easily suffocate when tranquillised, so the vet team has to wake it immediately its fallen unconscious, and then hold its neck and head down to stop it standing. Once the procedure is complete they’ll release the neck and it will stand of its own accord. It became obvious early on that the calf could not be saved. If we were to save the mother the calf had to be removed. My head is still spinning through the sights and sounds of them trying absolutely everything they could to save the mother. The weather threw everything she could at us, we shivered in pouring rain, and warmed again, and steamed as we dried in the sun. The giraffe stayed with us right until the very end and then finally I think all the assembled, including the patient, realised we had come to the end of the road. I am always in awe of the work that gets done here as a matter of course. Let’s not forget that these are wild animals, and yes nature will take its course, but if we can help, I believe we should. They tried today like I’ve not seen before; they didn’t fail, they just didn’t beat the overwhelming odds that nature threw at them in so many guises. If I ever doubted the importance of these vets and rangers, I no longer do. Martu Rangers have found Night Parrots in remote salt lake country in Western Australia! Congratulations to Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa’s Martu Rangers, @uniofqld, and the Western Australian Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions for their collaborative efforts that have resulted in this find. This is a wonderful example of two-way science where traditional knowledge and western science complement each other. Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa’s Martu ranger team have been using sound recorders and local knowledge to search for these elusive birds, and with assistance from experts from the University of Queensland, their two years of hard work paid off! This is the fifth confirmed location of the Night Parrot in Western Australia and adds to a growing body of knowledge about this cryptic species. The result will also inform the rangers’ ongoing management of the region. I’m very excited to hear of another place where Night Parrots are persisting, and I look forward to learning more about Night Parrots on Martu country. today marks a year since the Millions March in Sudan took place. after a 6 month period of peacefully protesting, where thousands were murdered at the hands of the  government, after a deadly crackdown by security forces, the people took to the streets, during a full on internet black out and eventually ousted Omer Al Bashir, and were no doubt the catalysts for for the military to sign the civilian power sharing agreement. Today, they marched again - not only to commemorate the heroic lives lost, but to reiterate the demands for real reform and accountability - as promised by PM Hamdok and the transitional government. Woke up with a heavy heart, but also infuriated. commemoration is hard to reconcile when there is no real progress or change to track, a year later and the transitional government has met not one of the demands made by the people. It’s been hard to come to grips with that fact, in a real sort of denial, but also coming as no surprise, this is life long work. I never want to romanticize or sensationalize protest, I struggle with claiming perseverance these days too, who’s to say folks constantly want to act and resist, despite? That our tenacity is infinite? I wish so badly that the conditions weren’t so, that my people could be safe in their homes, or given the space + time to deal with living in a pandemic, take all the precautions and care, especially when the infrastructure of Sudan couldn’t possibly handle any sort of peak - but the revolution stops for no one (?). In major, major news, yesterday it was revealed that Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands artist and Western Arrernte man Vincent Namatjira won the 2020 Archibald Prize for his portrait of the legendary Adam Goodes. This is the first time a First Nations artist has won the Archibald in its 99-year history. Not only does this increase employment in the area and individuals’ ability to support their families, but by having the knowledge to protect livestock, the community is joining the fight for conservation.
