It turns out that it is possible to shoot a short film with a cast and crew of over twenty while still following British Film Commission (BFC) guidelines. But is it still as enjoyable of an experience if everyone is masked up and giving a wide berth? Worthily Films would argue yes. When the BFC finalised the ‘COVID-19 Production Guidelines’ at the end of May, the team at Worthily Films were already a few months into itching to make the move from development into pre-production, and getting back on set. ‘Waiting for Time,’ a script written by Paul Chronnell, was to be the vehicle we would use to find out just how difficult shooting a socially-distanced film would be – and on Super16 film, no less. This was a script that had incredible emotional investment from the start, so it could have been a risky choice to attempt filming as we all really wanted to do justice by it. However, we knew that it would just compel us to work harder and push ourselves to creatively overcome any obstacles. Preparation is always important, nay, vital, during pre-production but this was arguably the step that we had to be the most careful with to ensure that everyone felt comfortable going forward with this film shoot. This made the difference between a skittish cast and crew and one that felt that all precautions were in place and all scenarios had been considered. Read the full article on Film Industry Network. 5 years. A lot has changed. Not just the fact that I cant fit into those khakis any more... This week, Henry Danger wrapped its fifth and final season, spanning a massive 120+ episodes. Its been an honor and a privilege to have had the opportunity to direct 11 of them. Over these years, the crew that Ive known and loved since the iCarly days has been hard at work, breaking new ground.. doing things unheard of in kids TV, and multicamera comedy in general. They are truly the best in the business. The cast has come into their own in an incredible way. They are all powerhouses, and Im so proud to have watched them grow and develop their craft. I got the chance to cut my teeth as a director on this show, oblivious to how it would change my life going forward. One thing I love about living in Plymouth is that I’m always discovering new places and new things that are right on my doorstep and I never even knew existed. For example, today I went to a pub called The White Thorn Inn which was hosting my friend @juniour_mcilhiney fundraiser for an epic charity challenge he’s involved in with three other Royal Marines called @rm_cockleshell_atlantic As I walked into the beer garden there was A GOAT sleeping on a table! A local band was rocking out in the sunshine, the scenery was amazing and as part of the day I got to shave off Juniors beard to help raise money towards the event, it was an epic day in an epic location and I’ll definitely be going back with the family again. Just as a side note I wanna say a massive well done to Junior. I know it took him 6 years to get that pony tail and beard combo on point and I know his beard meant a lot to him. I’ve shared hotels with him and seen him shampoo it, condition it, hair dryer it, infuse it with coconut oil and sometime even sing it a lullaby to help it get off to sleep (I made that part up) but I know it wasn’t easy for him to do but it was for Charity so he stepped up. All the lads on this challenge are in for an epic ride and I wish them all the best of luck. Women pilots flew in Britain, ferrying every type of fighter aircraft such as the Mustang, Spitfire, Hurricane to the bombers like the Lancaster, Mitchell and Beaufort. Many today have forgotten about these women and don’t know about the Battle of Britain. THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN The Battle of Britain was a major air campaign fought over southern England in the summer and autumn of 1940. After the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk and the Fall of France, Germany planned to gain air superiority in preparation for an invasion of Great Britain. The pilots of RAF Fighter Command, flying iconic aircraft including the Hurricane and Spitfire, were supported by a vast network of ground crew during the battle. Ultimately, the Luftwaffe was defeated by Fighter Command, forcing Adolf Hitler to abandon his invasion plans. Here are 8 things you need to know about one of Britain’s most important victories of the Second World War. 1. HITLER PLANNED TO INVADE BRITAIN IN 1940 Adolf Hitler had expected the British to seek a peace settlement after Germany’s defeat of France in June 1940, but Britain was determined to fight on. Hitler explored military options that would bring the war to a quick end and ordered his armed forces to prepare for an invasion of Britain – codenamed Operation ‘Sealion’. But for the invasion to have any chance of success, the Germans needed to first secure control of the skies over southern England and remove the threat posed by the Royal Air Force (RAF). A sustained air assault on Britain would achieve the decisive victory needed to make ‘Sealion’ a possibility – or so the Germans thought 2. THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN SAW THE RAF TAKE ON THE GERMAN AIR FORCE The Battle of Britain was ultimately a test of strength between the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) and the RAF. The RAF had become an independent branch of the British armed forces in 1918. They may not be able to explain the neuroscience behind it but some very intuitive trainers figured this out years ago. ⠀⠀ Making contact trains the brain to calibrate distance, angles, balance which develops accuracy, and precision. ⠀⠀ REFRAME: Now watch most self-defense demos and you will notice the majority of attacks and counters actually miss their targets on purpose.
