Un día como hoy, 24 de Septiembre del año 2001, se estrena uno de los considerados como mejores exponentes del género de terror en los videojuegos, Silent Hill 2. Sin duda que este juego en todos los sentidos vendría a perfeccionar todo lo visto en la primera entrega de la saga, tanto grafica como musicalmente, y con una historia, que pese a ser una secuela, poco y nada tenía que ver con su precuela, y la cual nos presentaba un universo mucho más complejo a nivel sicologico tanto de los personajes, sus personalidades y motivaciones como también en lo que refiere a la percepción e interpretación que nosotros le demos. Yes, our country & even our world is divided rt now. But there are many factors that go into that division. The stat shown here wowed me. We’re consuming WAY more info now, than our brains ever have in the history of humankind - faster than evolution can keep up. . Rewind to simpler times....the mid ‘90s ;)...not too far ago, huh? We’d read the newspaper....log on to our AOL usually through dial-up, check the 3 new emails we received, & then be off to work - typically on some major project we were collaborating on. . Consider this...there were no: Slack msgs, text msgs, push notifications, IG/FBook/Twitter/Snap/Linked-In DMs...you didn’t have folders to get back to emails that hadn’t been answered in months bc of mounting “more urgent” ones...your TV wasn’t in your hand, your news feed wasn’t a never-ending scroll of real-time updates. . Tech has made our world faster & even more efficient. But it’s also contributed to a lot of our problems (& I’m not talking in the way most talk abt it: social feeds that confirm our biases). . One of the best experiences of my life was traveling to Jakarta, Indonesia, to learn Qigong Meditation from a Master. Qi, in Chinese, means energy: the energy we make in our bodies in our cells’ mitochondria, from O2 we breath & food we eat. That energy is our fuel. But guess what? These brains we have in our noggins, tho they only account for 2% of our body wt...if we use them ALL day, they can burn over 2K calories, in a day. 2k sound at all similar to what we take in thru food in a given day? And I wish our brains could make us thin. Metabolism & WHAT we eat play a big part. . So if we’re exhausting the energy/fuel our bodies take IN from ALL the new stimuli we’re exposed to above, where’s that leave us? . It’s why we wake up more exhausted than we fell asleep (no energy left for repair). BUT, back to the division in our country/world: we’re shorter tempered, more anxious, have less to give to debate, angrier, too spent to consider alternate opinions. . Titans of Creation, 2020. I was asked if I had an interesting idea for the new TESTAMENT album cover before there were any lyrics or a title. Humanity was always obsessed with recurring forms in nature, like how some patterns on a leaf looked like a lightning bolt or the human nerve system, or the connection between celestial movements and events on earth. Myths and folklore were created in order to explain even the simplest of natural occurrences, like the weather, seasons or night making way to the day. So, I came up with our own new mythology to symbolize how the Carbon, Nitrogen and Oxygen atoms in our bodies originated in previous generations of long gone dead stars, and how these elements combine to form the nucleotides in our DNA. So, for the cover I came up with a place where ancient deities are forming both men and planets. They pour the atoms and pound them with their hammers, creating a spiral staircase of the human DNA, from which the planetary rings of a new-born planet are also born. The fire in the deities’ chest are the dying stars, as us humans are all made of their ashes. The album was later on named after the cover. This shows how much this album was a collaborative effort with everyone contributing—I even helped naming the album. I miss Anthony. For people who dont know, Anthony is my music soulmate and is pretty much a brother at this point. We met at @kdvs903fm as core staff 10 years ago (he was the audio engineer assistant and I was the multimedia director). He taught me so much about music and exposed me to new genres I didnt know existed. Есть в Южном мосте что то особенное. Это удивительная смесь технических достижений и геометрической красоты. Южный мост - самый высокий в Украине (136м) и один из самых длинных (1256м). Для меня он ещё особенный тем, что покорив его верхушку, я наконец то переборол страх высоты. А недавно мне повезло побывать внутри моста и перебраться с левого на правый берег. Внутри мост не менее интересный, чем сверху. Лабиринт из туннелей с коммуникациями напоминает заброшенный космический корабль. Всего в полуметре над головой с гулом проносятся составы метро, а на двадцать метров ниже не спеша плывут корабли. Немного странно, что ты будто находишься в подземных катакомбах, где висят привычные сталактиты, но на самом деле над землей. Мост считался самым современным в СССР, но и сегодня он выглядит круто и является интересным объектом для исследования. Не зря его называют симфонией современной архитектуры. PS. In this record, the design and the vinyl itself are especially catchy. At first, it is not attractive at all, but in the rays of sunlight it becomes delightful.
