Long long time ago ... @frits_van_eldik was taking pictures of me racing various cars. All over Europe we went and had an amazing amount of fun doing it. When I started doing #F1 commentary Frits started working in F1 also. The fun continued. These days the chance of me driving a racing car and Frits being there are pretty slim. Rough day in the gulf. Was headed out to sea and drove pass this storm. Forecast was calm to 1ft seas. Ended up being 3-4ft. had to bail water from boat for an hour while storm pass. An angry HP Supercell is chasing us along the Verona-Ferrara highway and on the run we are engulfed in a sandstorm that sweeps across the fields of the Northern Italian plains. At some point we decided to stop and take shelter because the storm was just switching into beast mode right in front of us and we didn‘t want to get smashed by large hail and/or crazy Italian Drivers on the highway. Sulla strada di rientro dalle Marche a Roma, al termine del nostro tour che, tutto sommato, è stato fin troppo fortunato a livello di condizioni meteorologiche, sua maestà Madre Natura. Nello scatto, una delle tre supercelle temporalesche che hanno colpito Umbria (e successivamente Marche e Lazio) nella giornata di Domenica 30 agosto. Nella foto notiamo una wall cloud giunta al termine del suo ciclo vitale: le nubi a muro sono nubi accessorie dei sistemi temporaleschi supercellulari, e possono generare tornado e funnel cloud (da non confondere con un tornado). Here are some images we were sent of funnel clouds spotted in Wexford earlier this month. There was some deep convection & thunderstorms then which contributed to their formation. It appears to have condensed into a tornado as it is quite low to the ground and had the potential to cause some damage, but we heard no reports. Diese Aufnahmen einer gut ausgebrägten Shelfcloud (Böenwalze) gelangten @stormchaser_bayern am 2.7.2020 vor einem starken Gewitter im Süden Bayerns. Das letzte Bild ist von @stormchaser_sued_nrw und wurde am 26.6.2020 aufgenommen. Zusehen sind hier mehrere verzweigte Blitzentladungen auf einem Bild. Die Blitze bauten ihren Blitzkanal vom Boden Richtung Wolke auf. (upward lightning) . . Morgen können sich vor allem in Bayern, Baden-Württemberg und Sachsen entlang einer Konvergenz heftige Gewitter bilden. Diese können von Starkregen, Hagel und Sturmböen begleitet werden. Vorher gelangt im Warmsektor des Tiefs noch einmal energiereiche Luft in die später von den Gewittern betroffenen Regionen. Während es im Norden eher kalt ist (um die 20 Grad Celsius), gibt es im Süden verbreitet über 25 Grad, in Südostbayern sind sogar Werte um die 30 Grad Celsius möglich. Vor allem im Südosten Bayerns sind auch Superzellen (rotierende Gewitter mit getrenntem Auf- und Abwind) möglich. Dann ist auch das Tornadorisiko erhöht. . . Wir haben 900 Abonnenten erreicht und möchten uns nochmal bei allen Abonnenten bedanken.
