David is best known for his musical endeavors, but he has many other talents including actor, painter, photo retoucher and cook. In 1982, David formed the Austin, Texas band Scratch Acid with Steve Anderson, David Wm. Sims, Brett Bradford, and Rey Washam. Five years later, after releasing three albums, Scratch Acid broke up. In 1987, the same year that Scratch Acid broke up, David and Sims formed The Jesus Lizard with guitarist Duane Denison. Davids unruly stage antics helped the band quickly achieve a following. The Jesus Lizard eventually landed a spot on the Lollapalooza tour and signed to Capitol Records. The Jesus Lizard released six studio albums, three EPs and a live album. David has had roles in several films, including Netflixs I Dont Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Southbound, Entertainment, Under the Silver Lake and Big Money Rustlas, with Insane Clown Posse. David is a cat lover and has drawn cats for the last 30 years. In 2014, Akashic Books released a compilation of Davids cat illustrations titles Copycat: And a Litter of Other Cats. She was director of the National Organization for the Women’s Feminist Sexuality Project from 1972 to 1978 and, since that time, she has acted as director of Hite Research International. In addition to The Hite Report: A Nationwide Study of Female Sexuality, Dr. Hite was the author of The Hite Report on Men and Male Sexuality, and Sex and Business, among many others. This morning before you were able to make your cup of coffee, Glendora Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. The vehicle failed to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed, leading officers in a pursuit that ended in the the City of Azusa. The driver stopped the vehicle and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly after. While he was being taken into custody, officers found a fully loaded, sawed off shotgun concealed underneath his clothing. Justin Black, M/36, from Azusa, was arrested for multiple charges, including: felony evading, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short barrel shotgun, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, obstructing an officer, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. While many of us are staying home during this pandemic, some people aren’t. This is an excellent example of some of the proactive work our police officers are continuing to do every day to help keep our citizens safe. Rod took a couple of mates down the range to test out the amazingly well made @chapuisarmes straight pull Rols in .300WM. The rifle has a @steiner.australia 3-12x56 Ranger scope attached and they were shooting it with @winchesteraustralia ballistic silver tips in 180gr. Here are a few pictures from the day. It was a first for all three shooting a straight pull and all were impressed with the action and quick repeat shot. It was lots of fun to shoot and would be great for those thick bush shots when you need a fast follow up. Pero esta joyita no sólo es histórica por tener temones como ‘’Persiana Americana’’ o ‘’Prófugos’’, sino que además tiene el honor de ser el primer 💿 CD 💿 (¿se acuerdan de esta reliquia?) de un grupo en América Latina ❣️ En una era musical en la que mandaban los vinilos, pero sobre todo los cassettes (por ser más accesibles 💸 además de portátiles 🎧), la novedad que trajo este soporte fue simple y clara: popularizar una forma de escuchar el audio en alta fidelidad 🔊 Los cassettes sonaban bastante mal en comparación a la grabación original y aunque los vinilos son una obra de arte en sí y escucharlos es un momento mágico, con el uso se van desgastando y pierden calidad 💔 En cambio, el CD fue revolucionario porque en él puede entrar MUCHÍSIMA más música que en los otros formatos. Y gracias a esto nacieron los Bonus Tracks, su dote irresistible 😉 De los primeros que se fabricaron, los más populares fueron títulos de ABBA, Billy Joel y Dire Straits, pero Soda Stereo fue la primera banda en español en usar la tecnología que le cambió la manera de escuchar música a sus fanáticos ✨ El encanto del CD empezó hace 34 años y hace ya más de una década que parece haber terminado porque el mundo digital le ganó en accesibilidad. Throwback Thursday: Adventures On Tour In February of 2015, my dear friend @m_o_x_y and I went out on tour in the United States with @RobynHitchcockOfficial. We had a wild and wonderful time visiting many great American cities and record stores and live music venues and truck stops. We took regular detours via antique malls and late night bars. We even took the scenic route from Texas to Los Angeles, going via Salvation Mountain and Joshua Tree National Park. These two photos were taken on February 15 at @horizonrecords in Greenville, SC. A truly magical place, Gene and his staff are knowledgeable and friendly and have a wonderful range of delights on offer on LP and CD. This cut out of Bob Dylan guarding the washrooms was an irresistible photo opportunity... If you look closely at the second picture in this post you can see Infidels on vinyl on the wall for a bargain price, as well as what just might be the worlds finest collection of John Lennon & Yoko Onos superb Double Fantasy. We are so saddened by the passing of the legendary Toots Hibbert. He was one of the kindest souls and I had the pleasure of working with him on three of his albums. One of which won a Grammy for the best reggae album of year in 2004 (produced by Richard Feldman, mixed by me). He was so friendly to everyone he met. He used to say to me “Hey T! You and me! T & T!” Studio City Sound filmed and edited (by Julie Murphy) the gorilla-style music video at Tokyo Delves in North Hollywood for the song “Monkey Man” (feat No Doubt) in 2004. A little late but it was a very interesting weekend for sure, but still super fun! The Smith Ranch Shoot was a challenge for sure, I need to work on my mental and physical game reflecting on my performance. This stage was the first of day 2 and it was one of my best stages. It was my first time manual loading and it went pretty well. The atmosphere of our squad was awesome and it was great having the little ones there spotting and shooting. Thank you so much Josh Reeves for helping me out and being my coach this weekend, you were a lot of help! The first day didn’t go as planned, with unknown dirty bolt issues which caused a lot of issues, but got some help and got it fixed quickly. The second day went MUCH better and I improved greatly. I ended up 3rd in ladies and juniors and 46/65 overall. This is Simon Eine. He directed Scenes from Moliere, our grad price from NIDA, 92. He has left us now, hopefully to sit and laugh with Danny about the fragility of life. The world is less today. Drama schools are funny places. 3 years of intense passion, pain and happiness. When I met this man a lot of people were telling me no. Then he said Oui and do you have more please. And I had more. After 3 years, it looked like I may have found myself. I applied for a scholarship and asked if I could join him in Paris at the Comedie- Francaise, he couldn’t have been more welcoming. I didn’t get the scholarship and was so ashamed that I never got back in touch.... it was before computers. I don’t deal well with problems, even today. I heard he was very disappointed with me which made me incredibly sad. The last thing I wanted to do was upset one of my heroes. When FB came about he reached out to me and sent me wonderful messages and comments on my work. He loved me and I loved him, unfortunately from afar. Now he is gone.
