In honor of @SLCCWhistlers new exhibit Sqātsza7 Tmicw – Father Land, we are showcasing some of Ed Archie NoiseCats featured pieces in the exhibit. This steel silhouette is named Salmon King as it shows the Bear and the Salmon with a Bentwood Box. The Bear is the protector of the Forest and is holding an extremely invaluable resource on the Pacific Northwest - the Salmon. Salmon is the primary food source for coastal Indigenous peoples and is considered a symbol of perseverance, wealth, and providing for your family. It was also a symbol of abundance because of how plentiful the Salmon were but this is no longer the case in recent years as they have been severely depleted from changes in the environment, pollution, and overfishing. Salmon King is a reminder of how important our precious resources are such as the forest, the water, and the animals. The bentwood box is a symbol of things we cherish in life. This steel hand-painted piece created by @EdArchieNoiseCat in 2016 is on display in Gallery 3 and is available for purchase. [Pollux] This is my take on a Matterhorn Logo for Hotel Pollux in Zermatt. Obviously most of the brands related to Zermatt use this iconic mountain as their brand mark. The last decade of my life was packed with so many lessons, feelings, moments and decisions. Traveling through different countries, states, and cities I’ve learned about different cultures and values; This knowledge has helped me to understand the importance of leaving your comfort zone, being very patient, appreciating other cultures, living a simple life and finding the beauty in small things. These lessons came with so many thoughts and feelings (good and bad.) There were sad times when I was emotionally isolated, I thought that I was unappreciated, stupid, useless and there were happy times when I felt accomplished, loved, grateful, appreciated, confidence, proud and content, also other times when I had mixed feelings; CONTEMPT out of disgust and anger, JEALOUSY out of fear and anger. These few thoughts and emotions helped me to survive, they motivated me to take action accordingly and finally, they influenced my decisions. While traveling through these life-changing experiences I always had two devices with me, a MOBILE PHONE and a HEADPHONE listening to different music that kept me motivated and inspired in downtimes and also kept me happy and hyped in victorious, successful and prosperous times. I love music so much that I wish I had a sweet voice to sing and inspire people as I get inspired too but I am also very passionate about technology; from a tender age I fell in love with computers, from playing videos games to browsing on the internet, I always wanted to create a software that people will enjoy and at the same time help to solve their problems. Because of my love for music and technology I have been working on a new generation music streaming platform called JUSIC PLAY. Jusic Play is a music streaming platform that will allow African artists to upload and share their music with listeners all over the world. He escuchado a muchos decir: YA LLEGAMOS AL LLEGADERO o ESTO SE LO LLEVO QUIEN LO TRAJO, ESTO ERA LO QUE NOS FALTABA, NO BASTA CON EL HAMBRE LA POBRESA LA MISERIA, SI NO QUE AHORA SI NOS VAMOS A MORIR TODOS PORQUE SI OTROS PAISES NO HAN SALIDO ILESOS DE ESTO COMO VA A SALIR VENEZUELA QUE NO SE CONSIGUE NADA, QUE NO HAY INSUMOS ETC... yo (como buen Cristiano) les digo, tengan calma... aprovechen el tiempo en casa (como lo pide la cuarentena dictada por las autoridades, civiles y eclesiales), para orar, limpiar, arreglar, ordenar, compartir con la familia (no festejar, porque lo que pasa no es juego ni motivo de celebración... es algo grave) pero siempre manteniendo las medidas de prevención sugeridas por los organismos de salud mundial, que luchan a cada minuto para que salgamos airosos en su mayoría de esta terrible pandemia. Algo que no vemos (y que también sucede por el grado de alarmismo que le han impreso los medios de comunicación al asunto) es que hay enfermedades mucho más mortales, y de vieja data que el COVID-19, y que tratamos como algo común hasta el punto de no temerles y de acostumbrarnos a ellas en nuestro diario andar por el mundo, sin importarle a la gran mayoría... por no ser afecciones de salud que puedan contagiarse de persona a persona (en algunos casos) pero que si buscamos un poco y nos interesamos por los hermanos que han sufrido o sufren de alguna de estas afecciones de las que les hablo podríamos comprender que estás enfermedades han cobrado más vidas a lo largo de la historia, y el estar alejados de Dios, el aumento de peleas, guerras y para no irnos muy lejos, el grado de intolerancia que a veces tenemos con el vecino, con la persona que comparte espacio geográfico conmigo han hecho que día a día se incrementen, y hayan muchos casos de cáncer (de todo tipo), de VIH. Logo/Monogram for @juanhall⠀ ⠀ Really like this one, took a little 70s flavor & mixed it with Johns military background (the bear is holding the wrench like a rifleman would on patrol).⠀ ⠀ The monogram was what my original idea was for him when we first started talking. Basically, taking his initials & making them into a hexagon/bolt head shape.
