Today is #PassTheHandle Day, but yesterday definitely counted for getting some new people on the water! I met 6 guys that came out to @elitecablepark for the first time and had never wakeboarded before. Had some good conversations on the dock and gave them some good tips and pointers as they were learning how to make it around the park. In support to the COVID-19 fight, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Davao del Sur, headed by PENR Officer Pablito M. Ofrecia, donated confiscated forest products, distributed relief goods and food packs and offered transportation assistance to some LGUs and frontliners. A number of confiscated forest products was donated by Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) Davao City for the construction of the regions health facilities. Yesterday was one of those special days that you really cant put a price tag on. I was honored and privileged to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wish of a beautiful 8 year old girl named Jadyn Blanco, whose wish it was, for reasons I still dont understand, to meet me! This extraordinary young lady has had to fight a cancerous tumor on her brain stem as well as the tragic loss of her mother at a very young age and yet her stunning blue eyes and gorgeous smile that I know exists under that mask, helped put everything into perspective about what is important in life. Its hard for me to put into words the profound joy I felt sharing the zoo and its precious animals with this beautiful young lady. I cannot thank my co-workers enough for going out of their way to help me make this a very special day for Jadyn - one that I dont think she will soon forget! This is the first time in the history of the zoo that we opened it just for one person to have this very exclusive experience and the entire zoo was all hers! There is an old saying which states that in the end, it doesnt matter how big your house is, how fancy your car is, or how much money you have in the bank. What really matters is that you can make a difference in the life of a child. Restoration of the circa 1890 Lion Bridge has begun! The first step in the project is to stabilize the failing foundation. In order to make this happen, the North wall of the bridge needed to temporarily come down. The wall will be rebuilt using all of the original stones. To do this, the United Restoration crew created a map and labeled each stone to make sure that everything will be positioned perfectly when it comes time to rebuild. More Milkvetch! The recently planted population of Ventura Marsh Milkvetch (Astragalus pycnostachyus var. lanosissimus) has done so well at NCOS that we’re adding more in an adjacent area. “Every race has a story”.... September 28, 2012 my very first run disney event the Tower of Terror 10miler. I trained so hard for this and was so excited and nervous. After the race packet pickup my son got injured and we ended up in the hospital the night of the race and eventually needed surgery. @gatorboys_chris and I got to meet two of @wildfloridairboats’ albino alligators! These are American alligators, the same exact species as the ones you see on my page, these are just lacking pigment! So instead of being black, they’re white! To my knowledge, there has never been an albino alligator documented in the wild. Albino animals in the wild usually don’t survive! Between sensitivity to the sun, poor eyesight, and not being able to blend into their environment, life in the wild is challenging. But in captivity with the proper care, they can thrive! A Polícia Militar Ambiental, através da unidade em São Miguel do Oeste, realizou na manhã desta quarta-feira, 26, ações de fiscalização de pesca no Rio das Flores, interior de Bandeirante. Durante a fiscalização, realizada no lago da barragem PCH Bandeirante, foram flagrados pescadores praticando atos ilegais de pesca. Sendo recolhidas 17 redes de pesca de malhas diversas, duas tarrafas, além de dezenas peixes. Os pescadores não possuíam licenças para pesca, motivo pelo qual foram autuados e tiveram seus materiais para pesca e peixes apreendidos.
