Fresh Grizzly tracks! . i am exceedingly happy when grizzlies are around. The bear that left the tracks in pics 1 & 2 was biG-probably standing around 8ft tall. . He made his way toward @stephkellettart and i from the far end of the beach, slowly sniffing and shambling as he approached to within 30ft of us before veering off. . At no time did he act threatening or aggressive which, in my 26 years of experience with them, is typical. A true exemplar of restrained power and wisdom. . It is a joy to see these creatures in the flesh, but even just encountering fresh tracks fills me with joy! . The energy that lingers in the track the grizzly leaves behind is tangible and potent-a symbolic imprint of their wisdom, power, and medicine. . Standing at a lathe for hours at end is my mental therapy. Its where i turn my brain off to all the craziness going on in the world today and where i focus on what i want to focus on. That brings me to this bowl. I spent alot of time to make sure it was turned the best of my ability. To prevent cracking in bowls while they dry you need to avoid defects, be mindful of the humidty and temperature where they are stored while drying and the walls need to be very even in thickness. Even though i put forth my best effort it still cracked on me....twice. Alot of woodturners would just throw it in the firewood pile and move on, and justly so. Not everyone wants to sell a product that was once broken. Some guys only want to portray perfection in their work. Nothing wrong with that. Myself....im full of defects and screw ups from my past. Maybe thats why i felt the need to fix this bowl. A little bit of extra time with some bowties and shes as solid as can be. The bowties are cut 1/4 deep into them and shaped the way they are so that the crack cant spread as it finishes drying. Just a little battle scar and stitches. A little extra sanding and the broken is once again beautiful. Everything deserves a 2nd, 3rd, hell a 23rd chance. POST DA SALVARE - È arrivato l’autunno e nelle belle giornate che ottobre può offrire si può pensare di andare a raccogliere castagne con i bambini, per passare una giornata all’aria aperta, nei boschi in cui inizia il foliage. Dove raccogliere castagne in Lombardia con i bambini: 🌰 In Alta Brianza, nella zona tra Colle Brianza e Campsirago partendo da Campsirago o da Cagliano dirigendosi verso Campione. Sempre partendo da Campsirago si può percorrere la strada verso l’Eremo di San Genesio. Il castagneto di Enco si trova sopra a Rezzago (Co) si accede con una passeggiata di circa un’ora e le piante sono lungo un sentiero pianeggiante adatto a tutti e ben conservato, alla sommità sono presenti tavoli da pic nic. A Canzo, partendo dalla Fonte del Gajum, andando verso Prim’Alpe. Allungando la passeggiata si arriva al Terz’Alpe rifugio dove è possibile pranzare o addirittura ai Corni. Si trovano castagneti anche verso il rifugio Capanna Martina, situato al San Primo, che gode di una vista mozzafiato sul ramo comasco del lago e sopra al Piano Rancio. O nei boscheti sopra a Valbrona. Sempre in provincia di Como ci sono i boschi della Valbrona, formata dai paesini di Maisano, Osigo, Candalino e Visino o ancora nella Valle d’Intelvi, nel bosco di San Fedele, tra il lago di Como e la Svizzera. Altri boschi sono a Magreglio sopra la Madonna del Ghisallo, nei boschi della zona di Valbrona sopra Asso, a Caglio dal sentiero Ai Monti, Mondonico di Olgiate Molgora, Ortanella sopra Esino Lario, in località San Zeno a Olgiate Molgora. Nel lecchese il Parco di Montevecchia e della Valle del Curone, salendo in cima alla collina di Montevecchia e poi percorrere i boschi oppure camminare nei castagneti vicini al santuario di Ca’ Soldato. Uncoupling is never easy and even harder when children are involved AND learning to let go of projections of a future that doesn’t exist makes space for the incredible present of now. . The idea that my wife would leave me for a woman and I would be going through my second divorce would have literally sounded insane until the day that it actually happened. I was convinced that I was in my forever relationship and having raised one child in separate homes, I vowed that it would never happen again, and yet it did. . Seven years ago I made a cardinal relationship mistake of falling in love with who someone was becoming and not who they were. I spent seven years holding space for that person to evolve and even going so far as getting married and having a child to support their growth into the person I could see they would one day become. I just couldn’t see her becoming queer and choosing to step out of our relationship. . I’m not going to say that it has been an easy. I shed countless tears, have done primal screams, anger exercises, grieving rituals, and a powerful process of forgiveness for myself and my former partner. Now on the other side, I can truly see the incredible gifts that have come from surrender to what is and letting go of what I wanted life to be. My life’s purpose is clearer than ever, business is growing exponentially, and the lessons of my struggle have become medicine for so many of my clients as well. . Most importantly, I have discovered that the quality of time with my two boys has increased even when the quantity of time is reduced. It has opened up the space for vulnerability and transparency with my sons like never before. I am most proud of my ability to display genuine kindness for their mothers and their mother’s partners and create a world for my boys where divorce is becoming an adding to and not taking away from their lives. . Daphne, in Greek mythology, the personification of the laurel (Greek daphnē), a tree whose leaves, formed into garlands, were particularly associated with Apollo. Traditionally, the special position of the laurel was connected with Apollo’s love for Daphne, the beautiful daughter of a river god (probably Ladon) who lived a pastoral existence in either Thessaly, the Peloponnese, or Syria. She rejected every lover, including Apollo. When the god pursued her, Daphne prayed to the Earth or to her father to rescue her, whereupon she was transformed into a laurel. Apollo appropriated the laurel for poets and, in Rome, for triumphs. . Umico Niwa (b. 1991, Japan) received her MFA in Sculpture + Extended Media from the Virginia Commonwealth University. Niwa’s solo show, Fruiting Bodies, is currently on display at the American Institute of Thoughts and Feelings in Tucson, Arizona. We have had several attunements about when and how we could bring them back, as well as where to hold them. Lots of emails and meetings where involved and, to my surprise, it hasnt been easy or straight forward. For various technical reasons it has not been possible. However, we are very passionate about bringing the meditations back online to enable us all to join together again in a network of light. . We hope to start streaming meditations soon and we will keep attuning to how, when and from where it is going to work out. We will keep you posted on our progress. And in order to gain satisfaction and fulfillment with myself and my life I need to focus on my present self; my desires, my hopes, my goals, my dreams, and leave everything else behind because it no longer serves me any purpose. TREASURE ISLAND TUFF TRAY 🏴☠️ I’ve got lots of mixed feelings this evening about my baby starting school tomorrow, I’m sure I’m not alone? I thought I’d share our most recent tuff tray. Inspiration came from @dorset_mum who did a lovely island. I added in some stones with words written on them and as clue drew around them to help my daughter match it to the sheet independently. After she finished this she made her own treasure map in the bottle and added in some figures. It’s great when the extend the play themselves isn’t it. Wrzucam Wam to nieszczególnie barwne zdjęcie które jest dla mnie niezwykle ważne. Na obrazku jest rysunek Marysi. Marysia, gdy trafiła do mojej praktyki nie mówiła nie rozumiała, nie potrafiła się komunikować. Miała zdiagnozowany autyzm. Cierpiała przy tym na zapalenie jelit. Zastosowane skojarzone leczenie jelit, dieta i terapia bardzo szybko przyniosły efekty. W terapii nastąpił po wyleczeniu stanu zapalnego. Nic szczególnie dziwnego no przecież wydaje się oczywiste że skoro dziecko boli brzuch to ma ono utrudniony kontakt z rzeczywistością, dużo zachowań agresywnych zaburzenia snu. W dodatku toksyny jelitowe mogą oddziaływać na mózg w mechanizmie podobnym do encefalopatii wątrobowej. #Autyzm to diagnoza nie medyczna lecz behawioralna i psychologiczna, na podstawie odpowiednich narzędzi psychologicznych, basujący głównie na obserwację. Marysia wręczyła mi obrazek z wyjaśnieniem - obrazek przedstawia pana, który maluje płot na zielono, natomiast Pani upiekła i przyniosła mu ciasteczka Czy Marysia jest nadal w spektrum? Nie wiem. Poprawiła się bardzo, nie odwiedza mnie już od lat! Czy poprawiłaby się bez leczenia jelit? Nie wiem. Nie poprawiała się, dopóki miała w nich zapalenie. Czy leczyłam autyzm? Nie. Leczyłam dziecko, z bardzo chorymi jelitami. PLATFORM PROJECTS 🌱🌱🌱 TOMORROW!!!!🔥 WALK SUSAN BICKFORD & RACHEL ALEXANDROU: FOREST THERAPY MEETS FORAGED FEAST Saturday, September 26, 2020 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM Artists Susan Bickford, Certified Forest Therapy Guide, and Rachel Alexandrou, Botanist, Forager and Kitchen Alchemist, will lead you in exploration and sharing in a local wood. We will slow down, open our senses, do some drawing, writing and embodiment as a part of the experience. We will cover a short physical distance on the walk, (a mile) and include several meditative invitations to drop you into a liminal zone of noticing in a heightened way. A meal of small bites of foraged food will be prepared for you in the wild. By eating this food we become this place. This walk is currently full! Please see Speedwell website for wait list. Susan Bickford is the founding artist of “the (stillness) project a collaborative interdisciplinary retreat which results in a place based public performance. Working within the tenants of deep ecology, radical hospitality and the transcendentalists, this work fosters a spiritual connection in nature recognizing ourselves within it. Bickford has shown this work as public performance, and video installation at the Maine International Film Festival and traditional galleries. Recently she lead a walk at the The Picnic Pavillion during the Venice Biennale and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. BFA/BID RISD1986 and MFA MECA 2001, Forest Therapy Guide 2017, Shamanic Practitioner 1995. Rachel Alexandrou is an interdisciplinary artist and botanist who blends plant science, food, and visual art together to create informative and intriguing events. She is inspired by place based radical hospitality and collaboration with artists from Maine and around the world. Her project Foraged Feast focuses on Maine’s edible flora and accessibility to education around local plants. 🌋🦕 VOLCANO🦖🌋 Our epic volcano play. We tried our hand at some science experiments. An oldie but still a goodie We tried out two reaction recipes: Vinegar, dish liquid and baking soda which created a nice bubble lava flow And the tartaric acid, water, dish liquid and baking soda mix which sent an stream of lava up into the air. Ich bin 2 Tage drüber. Bin ich schwanger? Mir ist übel, ich bin so alle. Energetisch ist so viel los. Ich bin so sensibel. ✨ Milan hat seinen ersten Wackelzahn. Vielleicht denkst Du Dir: Ja, normal halt, ne. Aber für mich stößt das einen riesen Prozess los. ✨ So viel Trauer, so viel: Hat er Wurzeln, die stark genug sind? Ich habe so viel falsch gemacht. Sooft verkackt als Mutter. ✨ Und wieder einmal sehe ich, wie sehr ich mir noch vergeben darf für die Momente, in denen ich nicht war, wie ich gern gewesen wäre als Mama. Wie viel liebevoller ich zu mir selbst sein darf und das endlich loslassen darf. Dass ich sehen darf, dass es das Höchste und Beste für uns beide war und ist - immer - und Milan mich sich als Mama auserwählt hat. ✨ Und jetzt spüre ich, es geht los. Wackelzahn Pubertät. Erste Initiation ins Groß Werden. Er ist definitiv kein Baby mehr. Auch kein Kleinkind mehr. Und ich muss loslassen. ✨ Dann wird meine Menstruation kommen. Wenn ich verstehe, es geht ums Loslassen, dann kann meine Gebärmutter auch das Blut freilassen. ✨ Einen Schwangerschaftstest habe ich vorhin gemacht. Schwanger bin ich definitiv nicht. ✨ Aber schwanger mit dem Prozess meinen Sohn loszulassen, ein Stück weit. In diese Initiation des Großer Junge Werdens hinein. In die Vorschulzeit hinein. Wow. 😭😭😭 ✨ Hallo Weiblichkeit. Hallo tiefer Prozess. Danke, dass ich wieder - weiter lernen darf, wie loslassen geht. Dass es sicher ist. Puh. 🙏🙏🙏 ✨ So viele Tränen. Und es darf sein. Genau so. ✨ Es ist sicher für mich, den Prozess zuzulassen. Mich dem Prozess hinzugeben. Ich vergebe mir. Ich bin Mensch. Es ist sicher für mich, loszulassen und mein Blut in die Erde fließen zu lassen. Ich bin sicher. ✨ Bitte wisse, dass dieser Post für mich extrem verletzlich ist. Ich teile mich sehr roh hier gerade. Ferris Wheel Ball Run I’m not very creative with magnetic play creations or ball runs, but I got this idea in my head and wanted to give it a try! It was surprisingly easy (although challenged my OCD levels when we didnt have enough colour matching triangles)! It’s been such a huge hit, that we’ve recreated this almost every day (*when mumma is in the mood), and MJ has slightly tweaked the design slightly each time. Urban Wood Rescue is back open again, and all walnut slabs are 10% off through this Sunday! It’ll be gorgeous weather this weekend so come out and grab some wood for your next project! Our outdoor yard is located inside Depot Park at 6045 Midway Street, Sacramento. Modified hours are Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30am-3:30pm and Sundays from 10am-3pm. To keep everyone safe, we ask that all visitors wear a face covering, and we will limit the number of visitors to 10 at a time. If you’d rather stick with curbside pickup, check out their online inventory of dry slabs through the link in our bio. If you haven’t heard of @urbanwoodrescue before, it is our program to keep Sacramento trees out of the landfill when they have to be removed.
