La notte sembra perfetta...🎶🌌 Nocne wędrówki do i z Chatki Górzystów zawsze równają się przygodom. Tym razem opowiedziano mi o 5-godzinnej kolejce po słynne naleśniki i 15-godzinnej pracy w samym schronisku, o wilku, który pojawił się dzień wcześniej na obrazie fotopułapki, o rysiu, przed którym respekt czuły największe psy. Były też rozmowy podróżników z Bliskiego Wschodu i Azji. Całości dopełniła znikająca gwiazda nad Chatką, gdy pomyślałem o duchach nieobecnych. W jadalni jak zawsze gitara i śpiew, a na zewnątrz ognisko i oglądanie gwiazd. In one of our Deep sky Astrophotography sessions last year, we encountered a very big crab which is approximately 5 times bigger than our entire Solar System. Located at a distance of 6,500 light-years from Earth, Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus. The term crab was first used by William Parsons (3rd Earl of Rosse) who observed the object in 1840 using a 36-inch telescope and produced a drawing that looked somewhat like a crab. With an apparent magnitude of 8.4, the Crab Nebula was one of the most sought after objects for DSO photography. Winters are the best time to observe the Crab Nebula from the Northern Hemisphere. The weather here was extremely cold and the icy winds coming from the Himalayas were freezing us to the bone. But the moment we opened the roof of the Stargate Observatory Kausani, the breathtaking view made us forget about the biting weather and look up deep into the starry sky. The Universe was inviting us to photograph the gems in it. This is the sweet little cabin that we stayed in at Moosehead Lake last week with @gallerymozelle @jfarrweinfeld @teagoblet22 and her partner. I believe it dates back to about 1910. When you look at the cabin, called The Lintongan, you are facing almost North, which allowed me to get this beautiful spiral of stars overhead in a 30 minute exposure. സ്ഥിരം ചടപ്പ് ദിവസമായത്കൊണ്ടും, വേറെ പണിയൊന്നും ഇല്ലാത്തത്കൊണ്ടും വൈകിട്ട് ടെറസിൽ കെയറി കിടക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. കുറെ നേരം ആകാശത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി കിടന്നു. വൈകിട്ടയത്കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ കുറെ പക്ഷികൾ ആകാശത്തിലെ വട്ടമിട്ടു പറക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മഹാ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണെത്താ ദൂരം പോലെ ആകാശവും നീണ്ടു കിടക്കുകയാണ്. പകൽ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നഗ്ന മിഴികൾ കൊണ്ട് കാണാൻ കഴിയില്ല എന്ന് പറയുമെങ്കിലും ഇരുട്ടാവുന്നത് മുൻപ് തന്നെ പല നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളും എന്റെ കണ്ണിൽ മിന്നാൻ തുടങ്ങി. കുറെ നേരം ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ കിടന്നു. കണ്ണിൽ പതിയെ പതിയെ ഇരുട്ട് പടരാൻ തുടങ്ങുന്നുണ്ട്. കൂടുതൽ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ തെളിന് രാവിന്റെ ഭംഗി വർധിക്കുന്നത് ഞാൻ കാണാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അതിൽ ഒരു നക്ഷത്രം മാത്രം കൂടുതലായി തിളങ്ങുന്നത് പോലെ. അതിനെ നോക്കുംതോറും തിളക്കത്തിന്റെ തീവ്രത കൂടുകയാണ്. പിന്നെയും കുറെ നേരം നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അത് അനങ്ങുന്നത് പോലെയും തോന്നാൻ തുടങ്ങി.ഒരു തരാം വെപ്രാളം പോലെ. തന്റെ പ്രിയരെ പിരിന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കാണിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെപ്രാളം പോലെ. ഒരാൾ നമ്മുടെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ അത്രയും അടുത്ത് , അയാൾ ഇല്ലാതെ ജീവിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നി തുടങ്ങിയാൽ പിന്നീട് അയാൾ വിട്ട് പിരിന്നാൽ നാം ഒരുരുത്തരും ജീവച്ഛവമാവും. അതൊരു വല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥയാണല്ലോ!!! ഇപ്പോഴും ഓർക്കണം എല്ലാം ഒരു തോന്നൽ ആണെന്ന്. തോന്നൽ എന്നാൽ എന്താണ് ശെരിക്കും! ഇതുവരെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കാത്തതാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. അതും ഒരു തോന്നൽ ആണ് കേട്ടോ... മനസ്സിൽ അങ്ങനെ ന്തൊക്കെയോ ആലോചിച് അങ്ങനെ കിടന്നു. ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ലാതെ..... #dailythoughts#dailywriting - @shehila_shafeeq on Instagram

Many of you have guessed the inspiration for our newest Flagship Design that will be available on October 1st. It Is the Green Bank Radio Telescope. This massive telescope is used by scientists all over the world to research the vast unknowns of space. It sets 485 feet tall and has a collection area of 2.3 acres. This telescope also sits on an interesting plot of land known as the National Radio Quiet Zone. Over 100 miles of no cell phone service, internet, radio, or TV. The telescope is so sensitive that it can even pick up the radio waves being sent from the camera that took this shot. Según un reciente estudio publicado en la influyente revista Nature, el mejor lugar del planeta para observar las estrellas reduciendo al mínimo la turbulencia de la atmósfera es el Domo A o Domo Argus, el punto más elevado de la meseta antártica. Este domo de hielo se ubica a 1200 km de la costa más cercana, cerca del centro de la Antártida Oriental, a mitad de camino del polo sur y del colosal glaciar Lambert. No es una montaña, sino una planicie, cuyo punto más alto se eleva a 4093 msnm y en donde se registran las temperaturas más bajas del planeta, destacándose un valor informado en 2010 de -93,2 °C. Constellations are a lot like television. They tell some of the best, most ancient stories, and they have their seasons, coming and going throughout the year and marking the turning of the wheel of time. Orion the hunter is perhaps the most famous constellation in the celestial firmament. His story is one of a boastful hunter, doomed to be punished by the gods and chased across the heavens by Scorpio the scorpion. Orion runs across the sky, and just before hiding below the horizon, the scorpion rises to chase his prey. If you look for the constellation Orion during the summer months, you wont find him. During the summer, Orion is below the night sky horizon. When Orion is above the horizon, daylight drowns him out. However, every fall, Orion starts to make an appearance. If you want to see Orion in September, youll have to stay up late. As September continues, you can see the constellation in the slight southeast right around 1 a.m. Orion will be almost at its highest point just before sunrise. The best time of year to look Orion at a reasonable time of night is in January. One of the most distinct features of this already distinct constellation is the sword of Orion. That astronomical feature is M42, the Orion Nebula. New stars form over the eons in giant clouds of interstellar material here. I went comet-hunting for C/2020 F3 Neowise 4 times, and every time the conditions were horrible: light pollution, clouds, arriving too late, forgetting a lens, etc... Ive never been as overwhelmed with work and stress in my life as right now, so my family and friends couldnt understand why I was obsessed with waking up at 2:30 A.M. two days in a row or stay awake all night to stare at a tiny dot of light in the sky. I mean, yeah, I was screwing up my sleeping schedule every time. But for me, these are my few escapes from the rat race. Escapes where I can breathe the fresh mountain air far from everything, and immortalize with my camera a natural phenomenon that happens every 6766 years. I had the honor to shoot a full night at the famous MAGIC telescopes at the ORM on La Palma. These incredibly sensitive telescopes detect cherenkov radiation in the upper atmosphere, a beta product of cosmic gamma rays. The pixels of the detectors are big as grapefruits, operate at over 1000V and observe the atmosphere at over 1million frames per second. The two dishes work in sync to provide parallax for depth data. And yes, all the frames are from 8K timelapses. 19500 frames/1TB shot in that single night. Cosa è servito per realizzarla in breve: ✅ 3 ore di scatti notturni fra il 12 ed il 13 Agosto 2020 in un posto davvero buio ✅ 523 fotografie scattate in totale ✅ Photomerge di 7 scatti verticali per realizzare larco della Via Lattea: ogni scatto con le seguenti impostazioni f/2.8, 13 sec, 16.000 iso ✅ Tutte le altre centinaia di scatti sono invece serviti per acchiappare le meteore (solo 8 meteore prese su quasi 500 scatti) ATTREZZATURA UTILIZZATA: 📸Nikon Z7 14-24 nikkor f/2.8 Sviluppo in Camera Raw, editing finale in Photoshop. 🤩LA STORIA DIETRO QUESTA FOTOGRAFIA: Dopo 4 anni dalla mia prima foto dello sciame delle Perseidi non avevo più provato a fotografarle. Forse il ricordo della notte ghiacciata in tenda non era così piacevole, ma per fotografarle cè davvero bisogno di trovare un posto buio che più buio non si può. Così mi sono messa a cercare sulla mia fidata app che mi fa vedere la mappa dellinquinamento luminoso e ho cercato il posto più buio (non di montagna, non avevo voglia di morire di freddo pure stavolta) che non fosse lontanissimo da casa mia. Ho trovato un punto nel centro della Maremma il cui nome mi ha subito stregata: LAbbandonato. Caspita che nome!! Un posto abbandonato, di nome e di fatto, e nerissimo di notte!.... Major flash back Friday to what feels like so many years ago. This is our first YURT. Our baby. Completely #handmade by us, using materials from the land. We remember this photo being the first that got us really excited about all the possibilities here at The Buffalo Farm. The amazing blue night sky and the stars hanging above the Yurt. Hunters Chapel September is a special month for astrophotography in the mid northern lattitudes. The memories of the warm summer nights are still fresh and we have the last chance to capture the Dark Horse and the Milky Way core for a few hours in the evening. Winter is approaching fast though and the rise of Orion, the hunter, in the morning hours is an unmistakable sign for this. Between the MW core and Orion, Cygnus is riding high in the sky, giving even more options for nightscape compositions. During a perfect night out with @benjaminbarakat, we had the chance to shoot this little chapel in the Swiss Alps from different angles, taking advantage of all possible astronomical alignments. My favorite capture is this one with Orion, Barnards Loop, Rosette Nebula, Meissas nebulosity, the Hayades, the Pleiades, California Nebula and Mars shining brightly on the upper right. HE WILL SAVE YOU Each day has been full of so many emotions lately. With my husband been unemployed since April, that has left a lot open to the unknown of our future. Where will the Lord lead us next? During the last month we sold our house and have been residing in our camper & exploring the territory of northern michigan. It’s been exciting at times and exhausting mentally at others. But this moment, doing something my husband and I have done together since we were friends, 30 years, stargazing, we can look at this beautiful sky and think how small we really are in the grand scheme of things. And that when ALL the things around us seem to be in chaos and changing, we can turn in awe to the One who never changes.
