Playgrounds can re-OPEN!! Exciting news everyone! Playgrounds in California are now able to reopen with restrictions. San Francisco has a plan to re-open Oct. 14th. Despite the allowance of reopening from the state, the choice to reopen a playground is up to the local jurisdictions. Restrictions include: • Staying 6ft apart • Ages 2 and up must wear masks at all times • No eating/drinking at the playground • Water fountains remain off • Visits should be limited to 30 mins or less. Please continue to be mindful of everyone around you while out. Try to visit these parks on off days and hours. This playground pictured is Davey Glen Park in Belmont featuring a beautiful Berliner playground structure. My husband and I always joke about how we creative entrepreneurs like to post “rare” photos of ourselves with an accompanying caption that reads something like “hey guys, it’s me! 🙋🏻♀️ I don’t usually post photos of myself on here, etcetera etcetera yada yada...” 😅 But all jokes aside, it’s so true!! I’m actually pretty anti social media which makes no sense at all because it’s the best free marketing resource ever! But my reality is that I spend a lot of time in production. Like A LOT. Being a one woman show is a constant battle of finding balance. Between emails, meetings, designing, production, social media, deliveries, pick ups, the list goes on... it can get pretty overwhelming. Oh and did I mention I’m mom to an energetic 2 year old and teach 5 dance classes a week 😜💃🏻I only get (at most) 3 full work days a week to do all things calligraphy. Which is cray cray! But for the most part, I embrace the chaos and just go with the flow... We were supposed to have been at Milan design week this year, but since that and other shows are all cancelled now, figured we could look back. This was from this past Fall at @dutchdesignweek. The show was mostly a WIP of our work with slag from the copper industry. The drill cores (the columns) were a way for testing our mixes for bubbles, color, and machinability. And a little nod to the crazy cool “Excavation” project by @paulcocksedge The coiled vases were to test the extrudability of the material using research from KU Leuven. And the tiles are tests in enameling— the copper slag can take a thermal shock and be quickly enameled, like metal, similar to how enamel is used in jewelry, cookware, and automobiles. . #waste #design #sustainabledesign #copper #slag - @studiothusthat on Instagram

Esse espaço sem fim é a biblioteca da Tabakalera, espaço cultural localizado em San Sebastian, País Basco. É uma biblioteca com caráter um pouco incomum, sem paredes, sem distinção de alas - por exemplo a área infantil não fica separada dos adultos - a locação não é apenas de livros mas também de equipamentos fotográficos, computadores, instrumentos musicais, pequenas estações de fab-lab espalhadas pelo espaço, um estúdio de chroma-key, laboratórios para desenvolvimento e programação de jogos e claro, uma sessão de auto edição, onde encontrei meu próprio livro publicado pela @vibrant.editora em 2015. Quem nos recebeu foi a querida Eneka que esteve na terceira edição da Plana. Ela trabalha na programação da biblioteca e as oficinas, com uma equipe que não estava lá. Ela me contou que estão de greve a dois meses, pedindo melhores salários e consequentemente a biblioteca está fechada ao público. The People’s Pavilion seeks to flip the script on who gets a say in the design of public space. It invites young people to work in partnership with professionals from the design, construction and creative arts industries, to design and build their own temporary Pavilion at Here East. Имеется печь внутри и кондиционер на охлаждение или обогрев. Даже окна есть для проветривания)) Для печки выдаётся охапка дров бесплатно. Услуги растопщика, если необходимо, платные 😄 В номере есть чайник и красивые кружки, графин для воды и стаканы. Конечно же ванная комната с горячей водой (нагревается бойлер на 80л). Сантехника очень классная - захотела себе такую 😁 Всё работает исправно. Про белоснежное постельное белье даже не стоит писать. Конечно же там такое и никаких цветастых цветов. Большой красивый комод. И ещё там очень вкусная ароматическая свеча. Имеются пледы, подушки и кресла-мешки. Есть ещё большие шторы, плотные, которые хорошо закрывают солнечный свет, они закрываются как зановес. Ещё есть у каждого купола своя терраса, на которой можно отдыхать и ужинать на закате солнца. Стоит 2 уличных кресла и большой пенёк в виде столика. На территории есть ресторан тоже в куполе, тоже с красивой мебелью и интерьером и экстерьером, с террасой на улице. Еда мне очень понравилась - вкусно. Цены - как в обычном Омском кафе 😊 Из маленьких минусов, которые совсем нам не помешали: рядом дорога, по которой ездят очень редко машины. Днём они останавливаются и вас фотографируют (это забавно☺️), а поздно вечером они светят своими фарами вам в купол. Лично мне было интересно наблюдать издалека за светом фар, но при сне они могут мешать. Но! Есть отличный выход - опустить шторы, когда отправитесь в сон. Мы не опускали шторы, мне хотелось встретить рассвет. Но мне не мешали машины, хотя я к свету довольно чувствительна. Спала крепко ) Чуть подальше есть Чемальский тракт. Like many of you, lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the future, I’ve tried to focus most of my thoughts on all the good things that are ahead of us, without losing touch with this very important present. Today would have been another full day at Salone in Milan —the city that has adopted me and that I’m proud to call home— I was very excited to present new projects this year but I guess I will have more time to make them perfect for 2021! I think that now, more than ever, it’s important to celebrate everything that we have accomplished and how far we’ve come. I took a moment to think, instead of producing, and decided to make selection of some shows, out of all the ones I curated in the last decade during Salone. A walk through all of my exhibitions: a lot of memories have surfaced, but one of the most important goes to all of the people involved, nothing could have happened without the help from everyone.
