A food pantry was established on the Blue Ridge Campus and Feed Fannin recently partnered with the campus on the service, said Sandy Ott, director of the Blue Ridge Campus. Os principais sinais e sintomas observados pela puérpera são: sensação de mamas quentes, doloridas, formigamento e aumento das mamas. Muitas mulheres não possuem informação de como se dá a “descida do leite” e como essas transformações acontecem no seu corpo, o que pode gerar muita ansiedade neste momento, além de tomar medidas ineficazes ou até mesmo prejudiciais para a amamentação. L’assemblea dei delegati approva l’asset del direttivo di Slow Food Liguria e consolida l’impegno per obiettivi di Terra Madre e Slow Fish 2021 Oggi al MOG di Genova si è tenuta l’assemblea di Slow Food Liguria per gli adempimenti statutari e di approvazione bilancio consuntivo, rimandato causa lockdown covid-19. I delegati nominati dalle Condotte liguri dovevano discutere e approvare programmi e cariche per il relativo assett di rappresentanza regionale ed eventuali altre deleghe con il compito benemerito di proseguire l’impegno su obiettivi indicati da Slow food Nazionale e Internazionale. I delegati delle condotte presenti hanno dibattutto a lungo su come essere inclusivi, efficienti e sinergici per un coinvolgimento globale su azioni e programmi, in un momento particolarmente difficile, ma stimolante per condividere e trasmettere gioia e serenità nel fare e occuparsi di progettualità e coinvolgimenti globali. Infatti con le nuove linee guida indicate dal Nazionale si rinnovano i Presidi , si rinnovano le alleanze con produttori e Cuochi, si ha in mente la formazione delle Comunità locali e di allargare l’interesse delle nostre tematiche ai giovani per i giovani e per tutti. La tutela del cibo buono , pulito e giusto passa dall’ambiente, dalla terra, dai mari e dall’impegno di noi tutti a sciluppare azioni congiunte per allargare interessi dell’esserci! Non è possibile perdere nessuno per strada è tutti sono graditi per dare il proprio contributo nelle forme più di interesse e piacere. Il piacere è un elemento che ha sempre contraddistinto Casa Slow e pertanto tutti sono invitati a proporre le cose alle quali riteniamo essere utili con il “piacere”. Si è votato e a larga maggioranza sono stati identificate le figure di rappresentanza e referenza regionale : Sandra Ansaldo, Camilla Bixio, Cristina Cavallo , Sergio Tron e Livio Caprile. Oishei Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Jericho Road Community Health Center celebrated on Wednesday, September 23, as they cut the ribbon on Broadway Pediatrics, Kaleida Health’s new pediatric primary care center on Buffalo’s East Side. A $1 million grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation last year made it possible to relocate the Towne Gardens Pediatric Primary Care Center to the new Broadway Pediatrics at 1021 Broadway Street in Buffalo, N.Y. in partnership with Jericho Road Community Health Center and community-based nonprofits. The grant allowed this collaboration, building and move to expedite. BOOK REVIEW: Bottled Goods by Sophie van Llewyn 🍾 This book was one my favorite reads of 2020. Why? I can’t stop thinking about it weeks after I read it (I waited to write the review so that I could really organize my thoughts on it), it was one of the most unique books Ive ever read, the author added a fresh style to the craft of writing, and I never wanted it to end. 🍾 The brief synapsis is that Alina and her husband are under surveillance after her brother in law defects from the repressive regime of Communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu in the Socialist Republic of Romania in the 1970’s. She wants to escape from not only her country, but from her overbearing mother, a scandal she’s involved in at the school where she teaches, and the Secret Service agent who harasses her.   🍾 Bottled Goods is quirky, hilarious, absurd, outrageous, intense, ominous, and mind-blowing. The author blends little bits of magical realism, flash fiction, lists (ex: Quotes From My Mother), charts, Romanian folklore, and what is aptly referred to on the back cover as “Kafkaesque paranoia.” I am not always a fan of magical realism, but the author implements it in such an entertaining and zany way that I was in awe of the effect. The “bottled goods” to which the title is dedicated refers to something that is absolutely impossible to ever predict or imagine. I wish I could comment more on the meaning of the title- my favorite chapter of the book relates to it, but spoilers prevent me from divulging more. Aida sits in her living room next to a photo of her husband Kamal Geadah. On August 19, 1985, Kamal was riding back home from work with his nephew when they were stopped at a checkpoint. Both of them were taken away and never seen again. Born in Lebanon, Dalia Khamissy earned her degree in photography from the Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik in 1999. In 2010, Khamissy started documenting the families of the estimated 17,000 people who went missing during Lebanon’s 1975-90 civil-war and whose fate is still unknown, collecting their stories, following their traces and taking photographs of what they left behind. Her work on this project continues through today, in addition to her extensive coverage of the aftermath of the war in Syria, documenting the lives of refugees who fled their countries and found refuge in Lebanon and Jordan for different NGOs and international publications. Her photos have been widely seen in Europe, South America, the United States, and across the MENA region. Khamissy works on her own projects as well as commissions from editors and NGOs. On starting a business…⁠ ⁠ There’s a magic that comes with living non-linearly, when you’re living in alignment. ⁠ ⁠ WTF does “alignment” mean? My answer is: It’s whatever is true for you right. this. very. now. It exists independently of “shoulds,” independently of expectations, of past and future, of what you thought your life would look like, what your parents pictured for you, or even what seems to make sense. ⁠ ⁠ For me, it meant turning down a cozy Boston marketing job, with benefits, a clear career trajectory, and a swoony salary – to go all in on starting a frickin’ marshmallow company. It meant quitting my part-time job sooner than anyone thought was smart, moving in with family at 29 despite all the pushback from my pride & ego, intentionally punching above my weight, and near-constant reframing of my mindset and my beliefs about what’s possible. ⁠ ⁠ Two big takeaways here, for anyone thinking of starting a business (or any big life change): get in tune with what’s true for you and then go. all. in. Operate from the place where intuition meets structure. Zero in on your truest impulse and build systems to nurture its thriving. Claim it. Show up for it wholeheartedly, with presence, attention, and in ways you feel proud of.⁠ ⁠ Before making any decision, all potentialities feel equally as “right” as they do “wrong.” Living in imagined futures is paralyzing and so often we end up floating somewhere in between, in non-committed commitments. But once you CHOOSE, and do so wholeheartedly, from a place of love, and alignment, and Your Baby-Oh-So-Unique Truth, life rearranges around your resolve, revealing a new future you didn’t even know possible.
