I had a flight back to Michigan late the night before our resort was closing for the year because of covid. After the flight I’d still be a 4 hour drive from home. This is what it feels like when you see @sebbedebuck standing at the top of the @audinines course in @soelden.official - On a time that you have to live the present because the future is uncertain it feels great to look back and appreciate everything one has done. @audinines is calling for a #showchallenge (at least is not another #shoechallenge 🍻😂 ) so I’ll start to display my favourite moments of the #audinines in the next few posts, but for now: thank you @nicozacek & all the @the_distillery team to make our minds 🤯 every single year and for putting together one of the best events I have ever been on. The first @americandownhiller camp was a success to say the very least. This camp was the first of its kind with perfect weather in an enthusiastic environment. Each kid showed up with a great attitude and I still cant get over the improvements that each athlete was able to make over 5 days of training. Chumpy, Man, I’m gutted this morning. The world lost a beautiful soul. Chumpy was one of the absolute best racers to ever live. I’ve looked up to his riding more than most because of the way he attacked a course, it made the most sense to me. I actually tried to mirror his riding when I first started racing World Cup. A true master at getting hole shots and making them fucking stick. I speak for everyone when I say that you knew you had to get your shit together if you ended up in a heat with Chumpy, ‘cause 9 times outta 10, you’re not going to beat him. Aside from the superior fierce competitor that he was on a snowboard, he was an all around great dude and a great friend with a big heart. You can tell a true friend when you can have your silly competitive fronts with one another and then let it dissolve over a beer and some good roasting at the end of race day. That was Chump. He was such a kick ass guitarist/musician too. I’m going to miss our random Hendrix jam sessions from wherever we were in the world. The one thing that I can take away from this, a thing that also kind of eats me, is go visit your friends, whenever you can. Chumpy literally told me for years to come down to Aus and go surfing with him and @cameronbolton. I kept saying I would go, every year, and I never did. He was just getting ready to retire this year, atleast that’s what he told me and a few others. We were meant to grab a beer at the end of the season and catch up on everything. One thing he left me with was, “All I want to do is have fun these days.” I’ll see you on the other side brother. Thank you for all of the gifts you gave. Go blast some Hendrix in his honor. I’ve always been in love with Chicanes, a weird off axis front flip/ frontside spin mostly done cab these days. I never knew the origin of the trick and ask @k_e_v_i_n_j_o_n_e_s the other day. Depending on where you live you might call this a Dump Truck or even a Gigi Roll/Flip but the origin of “Chicane” started when Kevin saw @hetzbanger do front flip late frontside 180 and inspired him to try. He and Rippey went to Mt Rose and worked them out while shooting for @standardfilms TB6. The next season Kevin learned the 720 version and did them at @xgames where Jimmy Halopoff described it “like a chicane” (on a racetrack) and the name stuck. Nowadays the trick is mainly done as a half-cab front flip (@blakepaul slide 2) which is perfect for cliffs and step downs or Chad’s Gap if your @rdmyes. Some of my favorites are by Blake, Romain, @iikkabackstrom, and @gigiruf. I have a love/hate relationship with the trick, it feels great when you get it but you look like an idiot when you don’t, which is most of the time for me. - @patmoore on Instagram

While filming for @hharlaut part in @grandvalira I was trying to get a few shots of myself so I could make 2 dreams of mine come true : share a part with the man and have every aspects of my skiing reflecting in the #KEEPITREALtheproject 👏🏼 - Therefore I had to get some rail tricks in although with all this film directing I didn’t have much time to actually work on my rail skills for the past 2 years 🤷🏼♂️ - It was a tough call trying something that’s not been done yet in a Snowpark where almost every tricks have been stomped already. Weirdly I was too scared to simply 450 in the rail because when doing so I can’t center my position on the rail : flipping over was the only solution to aim a landing cleanly.
