Who else experiences this the day after closing out your budget? 🙋♀️ It always seems like its that one cent that keeps you up at night and just bugs the crap out of you. Closing outyour budget is sometimes frustrating, but its also a critical step in the process. After you have a working budget in your life, and you have formed those budgeting habits, you need to take it one step further. Closing out your budget accomplishes three major things. 1. It makes you aware of any problem areas of your spending that needs special attention. Once you can identify what needs to be changed, you can take the action steps in the future to correct them. 2. It will tell you in a very blunt way if your spending is aligning with your financial goals. The easy part about budgeting is making sure your bills are paid. The harder part is establishing important financial goals in your life and making sure youre throwing your dollars towards reaching those goals. 3. You can find dollars that are left behind. When you close out your budget you get to compare the amounts you expected to spend against what you actually spent. I showed the power of this on my stories yesterday morning and will be saving that video to my IGTV channel today. So, if you are like me, and are closing out your budgets today, dont get hung up on the one cent. It doesnt have to be a perfect process. It just needs to bring that financial awareness into your life. You WILL get better and faster at closing out your budget the more times you do it.
