Infrastructure projects such as the Metro, Cross River Rail, Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade, Green Bridges, Brisbane Airports second runway and the new cruise terminal add more capacity for inhabitants and visitors to move around the city more efficiently. On the fun side, the Brisbane Live entertainment centre, Gabba upgrade and Brisbane Auto Mall will all be exciting additions for residents to experience. Between Brisbane Quarter, Queens Wharf, Eagle St Pier redevelopment and the Howard Smith Wharves, the CBD will have far more options to stay, eat, drink and shop. Queens Plaza and Edward Street have also seen a recent influx of high-end international retailers and the addition of many new hotels suggest there is plenty of confidence in Brisbane as a growing market. September 10th is world suicide prevention day. This is my personal story: It was June 21st, 2019 sometime after midnight. Another sleepless night, having panic attacks, willing to do anything to make the pain stop. I had climbed over the railing of my 40 story apartment building (see picture above). I looked down at the street below, looking for a solid landing spot. Being the analyst that I am, I had researched that jumping off of a tall building was the most effective, and least painful way to kill yourself. I had recently found out that after getting back together with my girlfriend who I had split with back in February, that she had been seeing someone else. She had been cheating on me after looking me in the eye and promising that I was the only one she wanted to be with. The ultimate betrayal. My life spiraled out of control. As I stood there wondering if I could fly, dangling from the rooftop of my luxury apartment tower, a block away from the Amazon Spheres, so many thoughts rushed through my head. Who would find my mangled body down below? The first responders who would have to tend to my lifeless body and the damage I would cause to them. The devastation I would reign down upon my friends and family. Even what this would do to my ex girlfriend who would surly feel some responsibility for my selfish action. As I came to terms with the fact this pain would never leave me, the hurt would never cease, and this was the only way to make it stop and to find peace again...my phone rang. A friend that I spoke to often about these feelings, who could also relate to what I was going through, reached out to check up on me. I don’t think she knows, but she saved my life that night. When I got to Florida a few weeks later, I immediately reached out for professional help. In therapy I learned how to cope with these feelings, how to let go of the pain of the past, and focus on the future. Without my closest friends support, I would not be here. Acabo de leer la noticia de que un chico de 19 años se ha quitado la vida saltando desde The Vessel, que es la estructura que aparece en la foto. La noticia me ha dejado muy tocada. En las fotos de las redes solemos aparecer felices en los lugares preciosos a los que viajamos, pero en esos mismos lugares en los que nosotros somos tan felices siempre habrá alguien que esté pasando por un mal momento y quizás está pensando en acabar con su vida. Y da igual que esté en un lugar idílico porque en su interior sólo siente dolor. El suicidio es un tema tabú en muchos lugares y no sé hasta qué punto esto ayuda a las personas que estén pasando un momento duro y barajan la posibilidad de suicidarse. Qué pensáis vosotros? Хотим развеять некоторые преждевременные непроверенные версии относительно вчерашнего возгорания на нашем объекте. ⠀ Возгорание было точечным на внешней стороне технического этажа, длилось около 15 минут и локализовано силами нашей службы безопасности еще до приезда ГСЧС. Повреждений здания нет. ⠀ Теперь о подробностях. ⠀ Во-первых, считаем нужным опровергнуть информацию относительно возгорания утеплителя. В сториз на видео хорошо видно, что утеплитель является негорючим материалом. ⠀ Загорелся небольшой сегмент гидроизоляции, который находился на перекрытии, на внешней стороне здания. По технологическому процессу эта гидроизоляция покрывается бетонной стяжкой, после чего она становится полностью закрытой от внешних воздействий. Возгорание произошло на том участке, где строители еще не приступили к покрытию гидроизоляции. Среди возможных причин источника теплового воздействия рассматриваются окурок или искра. Мы выясняем подробности. ⠀ А теперь о главном. ⠀ Во всем мире здания, высотой будь-то 30 этажей или 130, тушатся не пожарными кранами, а современными системами пожаротушения. В Taryan Towers мы используем лучшие мировые практики. В нашем проекте предусмотрена система пожарной сигнализации и оповещения и управления эвакуацией и автоматика противопожарных систем, которые с запасом соответствуют гос. нормам и являются одними из самых передовых в нашей стране. ⠀ Согласно требованиям, в доме должно быть два специальных лифта транспортировки пожарных подразделений (ЛТПП), у нас их три в каждой секции и два дополнительных, с помощью которых спасатели могут оперативно попасть на любой этаж. В каждой секции две незадымляемые лестницы, которые на протяжении длительного периода не пропускают огонь и дым, таким образом позволяют безопасно покинуть здание. Также у нас предусмотрена спринклерная система пожаротушения во всех зонах общего пользования. 🏗️ Future Friday 🏗️ The ToHa project is located on a 1.7-hectare site near the busy Hashalom interchange off the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv. In 2019, the first tower of the project debuted a striking and structurally complex office building that rises 28 stories. The second tower of the development will rise 63 stories with a total area of 130,000 square meters, which is to be completed in 2024 and will be one of Israel’s tallest. The forms of the two towers will be sculpted to complement the demands of the various site-specific constraints and local context. The individual volumes will be articulated as a stepped façade arrangement, maximising solar shading, while maintaining access to natural light for every desk within the generous floors. Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) December 21, 2019 · 🌁 SUPERTALL SATURDAY 🌁 The Exchange 106 is the centerpiece of the Financial Quarter in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the height of 445 meters, it is centered in the development and, according to the plan, will be surrounded by over 20 lifestyle, office, and residential buildings. The highest office Level 106 is within the crown of the building. The plan of the tower is comprised of square and elements of a circle. The square represents equality, while the circle represents strength, which draws back to the very essence of Islamic architecture. The building takes a sustainable approach with all the key features of passive and active energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, water efficiency, green construction activities as well as resource management covering reuse and recycling of materials.
