Skiing💘 Unexpectedly this race season came to an early end and since a while back I came to the conclusion that this was my last one. It’s been a rollercoaster these past years and I have so much to thank ski racing for during this time. I am so so happy and thankful for all the friends I’ve got and all the experience I’ve gained. Everyone that has supported me to continue in trying to reach my goals, thanks for believing in me💖 I don’t have the spark and fire to continue and push trough the barriers in my mind. As the years have gone by I’ve built an awareness of the risks in our sport, and as much as I love to go fast and clean that awareness has gotten bigger than the will to win. I didn’t reach all my goals, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. Especially of all my comebacks. As you go through a career you kind of forget where you set your goals along the way, and if I would’ve told the 12 year old me that I’m going to make it to the national team and race in the biggest league I wouldn’t have believed me. I’m still so in love with skiing and as I now leave racing I’m staying in the love affair with skis and mountains. TACK till alla ni som hjälpt och stöttat mig för att komma hit jag nått. Däremot minskar höstens tävlingsorter från fyra till två och Östersund får inte möjlighet att stå värd som planerat i december. * * * Biathlon World Cup starts - but no competition in Östersund. The Executive Board (EB) of the International Biathlon Union today announced that four World Cup events will take place in the first trimester of the 2020/21 season as planned. However, in order to minimise travel and protect athlete and stakeholder safety they will be hosted in just two venues. Ce Week End avait lieu les courses nationales à Brigels. Nous avions 6 athlètes représentés, Julie, Léa, Illan, Romain, Kilian et Nils Beau podium de Julie qui prends la 3 ème place du GS et qui fini 4 et 7 ème au SG. Léa prends une belle 15 ème place du GS avec un dossard élevé. Illan fini 8 ème en GS et 8 et 13 ème en SG. Les autres se sont bien battus, mais la piste bougeait beaucoup, ce qui a rendu la course très difficiles pour les garçons partant loin. There is no set way to the top. In todays society, one size does not fit all. There will always be outliers in skiing and snowboarding and World Cup Dreams is here to support those outliers. Olympian and WCDF trustee Scott Macartney sums it up saying I would not have made this new criteria at age 24, 25, 26 or 27. At 28 I was on a World Cup Podium and finished the season 10th in the world. USST has their model and WCDF is here to fill in the gaps and support the athletes USST overlooks. WCDF cant do anything about the NorAm schedule but we can help provide resources to the many promising athletes that need it.
