Cioè i giorni che ci separano dalla fine del lockdown sono più dei giorni che siam stati chiusi in casa). Io non so più se mi ricordo come si recita. Non so più come si sostiene lo sguardo di tutta quella gente, ognuna con due occhi. Non so più se e come si domina la paura, il tremore, come si parla, ci si muove, si fa finta e si dice la verità. Daltra parte, forse, è la sensazione che si ha sempre, prima di andare in scena, anche se ci sei andato il giorno prima, o forse di più, oggi. Mi chiedo se al mio stare in scena gli abbia fatto bene o male, tutta questa attesa, e altre domande, alcune anche dolorose, che sono stati anche mesi dolorosi, questi. Poi, da qualche parte io lo so che arrivi lì e la cosa succede e poi non te ne ricordi e poi è parte della vita, della memoria, del tempo. So che vado in scena con @influguenzer , che è un essere umano che, in scena, non ti lascia mai solo e ci sa stare come pochi altri. So che in scena ci vado con alcune delle storie più importanti e piccole della vita, raccolte in anni e anni. È uno spettacolo piccolo, strano, una sorta di rito tra la fine di questa adolescenza che non finisce mai e unetà adulta che non promette niente di buono. Arderà come un cerino, questa serata qua, come anche le altre, ma stasera è diverso. Ci si vede là, dove tutto è pericoloso e bellissimo. This is Jessica from Di Palos. Di Palos is a family grocery in Little Italy that has operated for over 100 years. My aunt and uncle, who lived in the east village since the 70s used to get their ingredients there for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. Idag för exakt 20 år sen släpptes Tomas Andersson Wijs Ett slag för dig. ❤️ Min debut Ebeneser sjönk som en sten och jag var utan skivkontrakt igen. Gitarrerna och jag flyttade runt mellan kompisar och hamnade till slut på Folkungagatan där jag hyrde två rum och kök av en livstrött reklamare. Några gånger i veckan gick jag över till Lars Halapi, min lojale producent på Katarinavägen, och spelade upp en nyskriven låt. Jag satt på en pall mitt emot honom och sjöng hjärtat ur kroppen. Han var entusiastisk. Vi gjorde enkla demos. Brev skrevs. Kassetter skickades. Jag minns att jag tänkte: Om jag inte får kontrakt på de här låtarna kommer jag aldrig få det och då är mitt liv över. Min tradition, känslig kille med gitarr, var inte direkt glödhet på tröskeln till det nya millenniet. De flesta i branschen tycktes överens om att den hörde till 1900-talet och borde få stanna där. Alexander Bard brukade käkade lunch på samma ställe som jag. Han sa att jag hade talang men att jag genast måste börja sjunga på engelska: Om 5 år kommer ingen ens att prata svenska i Sverige! Men jag visste att det fanns folk på Warner/Metronome som gillade de nya låtarna. Då och då kom små hoppfulla signaler från det slottsliknande högkvarteret på Östermalm. Men inget hände. När hösten gick mot vinter hade de flesta av landets skivbolag tackat nej. Jag var singel och luspank och till jul var jag tvungen att flytta igen. En dag fick jag en snilleblixt. Jag kontaktade Warners A&R och bad om ett möte. Vi sågs på det nya fiket Wayne´s Coffee i Götgatsbacken. Jag ödslade ingen tid: Nu har jag spelat upp demon för landets alla skivbolag, men jag känner att du är den enda som riktigt förstår vad jag vill göra. Det skamlösa smickret funkade och nån vecka senare var kontraktet påskrivet. Landet vi föddes i skulle bli första singeln. Vi mixade den i en gammal dansbandsstudio och tog sen en taxi till skivbolaget julfest. Min A&R sa att han såg framför sig ett hav av människor som studsade till ”Landet”. Riktigt så blev det inte, men det visste vi inte den här kvällen. Jag drack fulla dricksglas med gratis whisky och kräktes över Mosebackes räcke.
