There are moments I look at 2020 and think it’s been a complete wash. It doesn’t at all resemble what I thought it would look like.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But just because it doesn’t look how I imagined, doesn’t mean it hasn’t had its moments of beauty that deserve gratitude. The more I reflect, the more I realize that my goals for 2020 have come to fruition, just in different ways.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I keep coming back to the verse, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had so many ideas of what I’d accomplish, the places we’d go, the way my business would grow, the lives I’d get to impact with my work, the things Selah would experience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I realized that at the beginning of this year, I was the one “planning my way.” I had this whole path laid out and I knew the steps I needed to take to get there. But God had different steps to establish in my life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve seen God meet me in the quiet places, in the solitude and isolation I find myself in during this season.
