It’s funny when the things that used to annoy you, you miss the most. 💔 Today is my sister Corrine’s birthday - the sister that my mom lost so late in her pregnancy before Clark. Thinking about that late last night, I did something I haven’t done in over 3 years. I looked through my mom’s text messages. Before, I would start tearing up just at the thought of reading her words, but for whatever reason I needed to see them now. Tears and all. And after going through them, I realized that she always checked in with me. A LOT 😅 like mothers do. I would get “u ok?” messages literally every week and I remember thinking at the time “ugh. So annoying. I’M FINE 🙄” just like any other kid. But now (especially this year), I miss that so much. I miss us worrying about each other, checking in with each other, and even just the random back and forth about what we needed at the grocery store... I don’t really talk about my mom much on social media anymore and I’m ashamed to say that I actually try not to think about her because it still hurts so much... but she’s my reason for starting my #wellnessjourney and a big part of who I am and I love her so much and miss her like crazy and I shouldn’t hide that. You really don’t know what you have until it’s gone. So go to your mom, embrace her, love her, and thank her for always worrying and thinking about you.🙏🏼 having a person out there like that is a blessing.
