Behind-the-Scenes: Photoshoots are work!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I dont care what anyone says; photoshoots are not fun. There is a lot of planning, and its usually an intense day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ive done many shoots in my career. In Corporate, we did mostly product shoots. You start about two months before scouting location and making or buying the props.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you are doing a shoot with models, you need to spend a week looking at pictures to pick the model you feel is the best for the job.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When doing a shoot, it takes a team. You have a make-up artist, hairstylist, photographer, lighting, and help.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had a fashion business after I left corporate. Fashion is defiantly different than corporate. Long hours and picture after picture to get the right one can be stressful. I was managing a team of people that do it mostly for the love of fashion.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It changes is when you are in the pictures. Instead of managing the shoot, you are in the shoot. That is double duty. I have managed the shoot, plus being one of the models. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I do love is looking at the pictures afterward. Shoots are work, but the reward is the output and thats why I do it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shoots are part of the job. new LEMNI armchair for @livingdivani Creating a seat whose structure is generated starting from a single element, repeatable within the project itself, with the aim of approaching the industrial universe and reproducibility through a structural reflection of an architectural nature. Starting from a tubular semicircle, it is multiplied by rotating it 90° each time, generating points of contact between the semicircles, that become the future welding points of the structure. The result is a lemniscate curve ∞ in three dimensions. The mystery of the infinite is represented as something closed and sinuous, it refers us to the idea of the unfinished, when in reality it is one of the most complete geometries. The idea of a complete geometry guided the project from the earliest reflections. The structure thus becomes the essential and necessary element that allows the seat to exist, like architecture. A geometry from which to suspend a skin like a spontaneous gesture, creating a curve that brings us suspended. This geometry is thought out to a minimum, it touches only in two points, then entrusting the semicircles with the distribution of weights down to the ground and the bracing of the whole. The back is conceived as a volume in itself, a padded leather cylinder carried by the structure, completing the comfort of the seat. Subtraction as a reference to architecture, therefore, a search for essentiality, forever in balance with function.
