Intuition. ⠀ What is it and how do we tap into it? ⠀ I personally perceive intuition as an inner knowing. ⠀ It’s like this sixth sense and in some cases it’s almost as if you can predict the future…⠀ ⠀ It’s that tug towards something, those gut feelings that are unconsciously there to guide you in the right direction.⠀ ⠀ Ive had many experiences over the last couple of years where Ive fully leaned into my intuition and trusted it...and Ill tell you what, its always worked out in the best way possible.⠀ ⠀ And when I say this, I don’t mean that it’s always going to be the perfect outcome. For me, it’s usually an outcome that helps me to learn about myself on a deeper level. And sometimes, I think that our intuition guides us towards one thing so that we can then receive something even better.⠀ ⠀ For example, after my A Levels, I had no idea what I was going to do next. My uni offers got declined, I had no job lined up and I had no money to go travelling like I wanted to, but, deep down I had this feeling that it would all work out exactly as it was meant to.⠀ ⠀ And it did. I ended up getting a job (which I hadn’t applied for!) and this then enabled me to save some money to pay for my coaching course. So, what I’m saying is that whilst the job wasn’t ~exactly~ what I wanted to do long term, it provided me with the stepping stones towards an opportunity that I did want.⠀ ⠀ Are you getting my drift? ⠀ So, how do we become more in tune with our intuition? ⠀ My answer is this… ⠀ We all have intuition and it’s there to guide you in the right direction. But, I also think that often our inner critic or other people’s opinions can get in the way….we start doubting ourselves or questioning our rationale, and that’s when we disconnect from our intuition.⠀ ⠀ So, lean into it with everything that you’ve got. Let go of control and trust that it will work out exactly as it’s meant to. ⠀ Notice when your inner critic kicks in and pause…where do these beliefs come from? Ask yourself what you really want and your intuition will tell you. ⠀ Use it as a guide. ⠀ Trust it. ⠀ Let it free you from worry or doubt. ⠀ Everything is happening exactly as it’s meant to for you right now. - @kristibergmancoaching on Instagram

The team cleared around twenty-five bags of bruck plus masses of fishing floats, larger bits of plastic, rope and huge pieces of net that needed sawing up in order to shift! This is a particularly attractive beach for bruck due to the tides and shape of the bay, but it is difficult to clean up as there is a 2km walk on rough and steep terrain to reach it, let alone bring it back for disposal. A massive thank you to everyone who volunteered, the committees at Unstfest and Shetland Nature Festival, the brilliant landowners who are removing the bruck from Woodwick by quad and trailer over the next couple of days, and @shetlandheritage for taking the bruck out of Unst for disposal with SIC. The house of Traigh Bhan was built in 1923, originally as a holiday home. This past week, I’ve finally been allowed to announce a book deal that I got more than a year ago. It’s made me reflect on how much of being a writer hinges on waiting—to reach the end of the story you’re writing, to receive feedback from beta readers, to find an agent who believes in you enough to offer rep, to score a publisher who likes your manuscript enough to send a contract. By this reckoning, you’d think to be a writer, you must have patience. . I don’t. In fact, my friends often tease me for just how *impatient* I am. So which quality is it a writer should possess, if they are to weather the storm of waiting? Many literary circles have dubbed it endurance. Writing is a marathon, they tell us, not a sprint. And they’re absolutely right, of course. It could take years to finish honing your manuscript into a respectable state. If you’re seeking publication and manage to get a contract one day, it typically takes another 18-24 months before your book is released. And even then, more waiting—for people to discover the book, to read it and perhaps enjoy it enough to recommend it to others. For word of mouth to spread and for hoping, fiercely hoping, that word of mouth is positive. . Still, there’s an emotional requisite to riding out this waiting, one I’m not sure the word endurance captures sufficiently. Merriam Webster defines endurance as “the ability to withstand hardship or adversity.” To withstand—there’s something vaguely passive about that concept, isn’t there? To outlast the things happening to you. It’s admirable for sure, but writers don’t just tolerate challenges as they arise. They see them coming in advance and choose to meet them anyway. . Perhaps, then, the quality I’m searching for is grit. Grit is a “firmness of mind or spirit: unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger.” It’s endurance, yes, the capacity to outlast different obstacles in your path. But it’s also determination. An active will to register the obstacles and choose to not let them defeat you. Someone with grit is not only able to endure long delays and inevitable setbacks, but resolutely dedicated to overcoming them. . På MYKEN ble det tørrfisk på hele familien. Jeg ble plutselig sjøsyk på hurtigbåten og den pensjonerte sjømannen Geir-Otto tilbød meg en tørrfisk. MASSIV THRU DAY 13-15 🇳🇴 Aaand it’s DONE! I have completed my thru-hike of the MASSIV trail in Norway 👏🏻 What an epic experience this has been. Thru-hiking is tough, yet so rewarding - and this trail has been no exception. 15 days ago, I set out from Sota Sæter mountain hut (the Northern Terminus) in wind, rain and white-out. The past 10-12 days, I’ve been blessed with an unthinkably desireable Norwegian summer weather ☀️ I’ve met dozens of kind people on trail: Norwegians, Danes as well as my 5-day-companions, Ashley and Dylan, from the States. I’ve encountered reindeer herds, swimmed in glacier lakes, and wild-camped in some of the most stellar camp spots. I’ve hiked the trail my own way: tenting all the way, with the exception of two nights with a roof over my head and a bed to rest. All though, I had a bit of a rough start, I feel like this trip has been nothing short of a big SUCCES! 🇳🇴 Now, it’s time to relax, before I catch the bus towards Oslo tomorrow and explore the city for a few days, before I return back home to Copenhagen 🤟🏼 To New Adventures! - Biz 😎 - @wildstray_hikes on Instagram

The famous Bobbys Bus Shelter in Unst. Could this be the only bus shelter that is also a tourist attraction!? When Bobby was in primary school, the previous shelter was removed, so he wrote to the local paper back in 1996 asking the council to replace it. His letter was published, and a new shelter was soon in place. From there, furniture started to mysteriously appear in it and its been decorated in many different themes over the years. A beautiful day out to the wild and remote Sanna Bay on the west coast of Scotland. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves for much of the afternoon, and enjoyed a lovely cold swim as the rain passed over and the sun came out. Crystal clear, turquoise water and white sand, a few sheep along the bay to keep us company. We went out this way in part to photograph two wonderful people for the next book and were so happy to discover this beach was nearby! Well worth the long drive on so many levels.
